One reason behind the protesting against mask and vaccine mandates:

Let us observe a protest of the past.

In 1765: The Sons of Liberty protested the Stamp Act under the Liberty Tree in Boston. A day Samuel Adams deemed should be remembered forever, it was the day patriots stood strong, united in their pledge to secure liberty. As a result of their protest, Andrew Oliver, the official in charge of enforcing the Act, publicly resigned and swore that he would never carry out the duty of stamp master again. As outrage escalated amid British control, other colonies found their own patriots who joined the cause of the Sons of Liberty. We must always remember what these brave patriots fought for and what we must protect. - The Locke Society.

How are vaccines and masks related? Let me share more on American history first.

Many people point to taxes being the reason behind the American Revolution, but taxes were only part of the 27 grievances. These grievances did not occur overnight, but for decades the Colonists tried to find a peaceful way to live under British rule.

“The Declaration of Independence contains 27 Grievances or complaints that the 13 colonies had against King George III.

Grievances 1-12 are complaints on the abuse of power by King George III.

Grievances 13-22 are actions by the king and Parliament that violated the British Constitution.

Grievances 23-27 are the charges against the king for making war on the colonists.”

I see a parallel with history as the American people are sick of the corruption, lies, mismanagement, failures, hypocrisy, and the tyrannical push of socialism/ Marxism. The grievances have been mounting for decades.

Just as simple as the protest over the stamp act, we see people feel the mask and vaccine mandates to be one of the last straws that may break the camels back. The weight of tyranny is only getting heavier and heavier. When will the American people wake up?

Thomas Jefferson being who wrote the Declaration, has some very wise words to remind Americans that giving power to the government, power that isn't granted in the Constitution is like playing with a bomb.

It may seem immoral to prefer dangerous freedom. But I can guarantee the opposite of liberty will eventually be highly more dangerous.

“There is no justification for taking away individuals' freedom in the guise of public safety.

When you abandon freedom to achieve security, you lose both and deserve neither.

A true patriot will defend his country from its government.

I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.

The press is impotent when it abandons itself to falsehood.

You know well that government always kept a kind of standing army of newswriters who, without any regard to truth or to what should be like truth, invented and put into the papers whatever might serve the [government] ministers. This suffices with the mass of the people who have no means of distinguishing the false from the true paragraphs of a newspaper.”
Thomas Jefferson

(Disclaimer- this post is not to say masks or vaccines do not work or to say they do but to draw a parallel of modern worries to past worries)

The fact that "The Committee for Tarring and Feathering" had caught several of the tea tax collectors and hosted them to a party also encouraged the resignation. Afterward, the Kings tax-collectors huddled on a small island in the middle of Boston Harbor and never again came to shore. Just saying.....

Did Lord Jesus protest against the Romans? No. Did He suffer injustice and brutal treatment? Yes. Did He complain? No. Christians love to say WWJD. Except many are lousy at following that principle. The nation of Israel rejected Lord Jesus and His advice. They rebelled against Roman rule. Was God pleased? No. The temple was destroyed first. The nation was destroyed 30 years later.

Contrast this with Israel's captivity in Babylon. They were made captives for 70 years. They lived without incident and God blessed them, as He always does when His people are obedient. They were released from captivity without force and returned to Israel to rebuild.

The civil authorities should be obeyed unless there is a clash with God's word. If church meetings were outlawed, we would have to meet in secret, as happens in many countries now. We are not yet at that point in the Western world.

Russian Christians were persecuted during the communist time. They also did not riot or take up arms. Many were exiled to Siberia to be virtually slave labour. It rather backfired on the regime. People began to see that the Christians were workers, they were not permanently drunk, and they were an asset to the community. That was a witness that led to others being saved. The communist regime eventually collapsed without a shot being fired.

Christians should not be patriots. Our allegiance is to the King of Kings and our citizenship is in heaven. Expect nothing from the world system. God makes nations great, not presidents. If you want to know what God thinks of the USA, just consider the debacle of Afghanistan. Christians need to wake up and listen. God is shouting.

I disagree. Should not a Christian stand for justice? Should not a Christian defend the weak? Should not a Christian remote morality? Self Defense and love of neighbor can be found in scripture. If you know history, you would not deny the hand of God was on America all the way back to the Pilgrims. All these men stood for religious freedom and God ushered in the church age of choice, rather than state churches. The results? Billions given religious freedom and not including the evil brought to their demise like Hitler. All because of those Patriots in 1776.

I also disagree, somewhat; but especially with the statement "Christians should not be patriots". Does not a nation that promotes abortion, both nationally and world wide while forcing it's citizens to pay for them clash with God's word? I do not promote violence, as our forefathers did everything they could to avoid conflict. I also do not support duplicity in the face of evil, I don't think Messiah did either. Millions upon millions of Russian Christians were butchered under communist rule, that is not God's will.

The founders fought for years to handle the situation peacefully. Only when it became self defense was they stirred to action.

To love your neighbor does not mean to stand by and watch while they are beaten to death.

Of course, this was a big debate between the founders for decades on was it moral to resist a evil King. Largely influenced by the pastors of the first great awakening. They even had a saying that said An Appeal To Heaven. It was a flag and described how when no one else will hear your cries, you appeal to Heaven. Then the events to follow only proved the appeal was heard. Miracle after miracle occurred to where the founders even Benjamin Franklin the least religious man of the bunch could not deny the hand of God was in the affairs of men especially the American cause.
