well till death is a long time if you do marry young...or it can seem like it, day after day after day with the same person...you better not get on each others nerves..!
In heaven marriage (church/bride and the Lamb) is FOREVER so there is no going back. It wont be like marriage on earth because no sin is present to interfere with that bond, you wont get old, fall sick, have to labour at a job or in childbirth, have to pay bills, worry about toilet paper running out etc...

The notion that if something isn't permanent it isn't worth it is false and I guarantee other aspects of your life aren't lived that way. So why single this one out?
Probably most things in life are material and a wife is another person. So I can single out marriage easier then anything else.

Ok, please don't take offense but, you have a misunderstanding of heaven and Jesus. And when I say misunderstanding I mean a low view of heaven and Jesus. Again, NO OFFENSE because most of us have this view. Jesus is so grand, so glorious, so magnificent, that when you are in heaven you won't believe you wasted most of your life chasing meaningless things. He's such a treasure that any past relationship will be as dung to you. Your intimacy with your wife or your closest bond with whomever you are closest with will seem like the dust in the air. You will be so overwhelmed with His glory nothing else will compare. The problem is we are so earthly minded we thing the pleasures of this world will either rival or be better than heaven's. You must ask yourself why don't I see Him as great as the Bible tells us He is? God is the author of pleasure, the creator of joy, and it will be joy unspeakable and pleasures you've never known in heaven.

Marriage is a earthly covenant. It is to help you become more holy and pleasing in Gods sight. It is to show you how great the love of a spouse is, so that you know that the love of Christ is so much better.

You see, pleasures in this world are but a taste of things to come! It is supposed to get you excited for Christ's return! To fill you with hope and a joy unrivaled by non Christians. Yet, here we are almost dreading the 2nd coming of our savior. This is the problem of modern Christianity. Lack of passion and knowledge of our Lord. Again, if you have read this far, NO OFFENSE. This tends to rub people the wrong way.
It's ok I'm not offended and do understand what you're saying. But you're right in that we don't know what it's like to be with God and Jesus. And because of this, we really don't know what heaven is like. I'm not saying a wife is better then God, just that we should be able to continue our marriage in heavn. I've always thought about having kids, but I don't want them in this evil world. So why not create them and raise them in heaven ?

These are just my thoughts on it...

I dont think thats allowed the souls in heaven have already been listed in the lambs book of life you dont get to add to the book IN heaven..but I am sure there will be plenty of children already there ....

I am sure if both of married couples are born again christians they can continue an association with each other in heaven. I am thinking it wont continue if one spouse died an unbeliever in their sins though. Otherwise people dont need to marry in heaven (aside from the entire church marrying Christ Jesus) as we will be like angels.

Think of it, you are basically telling God His heaven is not good enough. That He should add this child raising thing in heaven also. As if heaven is a cake and God hasn't put enough sugar in it for your liking. So you are saying you can create a better heaven than He can. Who do you think you are?

Unfortunately this is common. It's what your heart is saying vs your words. This is why God judges the heart. Within it lies the truth within the soul and within your soul (also in all of humanity soul) is this evil that we know better than God. This is exactly what happen in the garden of Eden. God creates this perfect dwelling place for Adam and Eve, yet they thought that it could be better if only they added this extra fruit. The only thing forbidden to them. In your case you want to add child raising to an already perfect dwelling place. The nerve of humans is astonishing.

Your lack of understanding of Gods sovereignty is a problem. Meaning you really don't understand who truly in control and why. Your lack of trust in Gods perfect goodness, and perfect wisdom is a problem. Meaning you don't trust God to make a place you will enjoy. Your lack of understanding of how fallible and corrupt your soul is is the problem. Meaning you really don't know what's truly good for you. All of these misunderstandings probably has leaked over into a lot aspects of your life. You probably struggle to trust God for a lot of other things.

Now, this last bit of understanding is critical to grasp as a Christian. We live under a different covenant than Adam. We are no longer just called to have babies and relax. No, that time has long past. We are under a new covenant (New Testament) which means we have a different calling. The purpose as a human is to be conformed to the image of Christ and proclaim it to the world. To look like Christ, act like Christ, to think like Christ, and project this image of Christ to the world. We are here to be Gods instruments in saving souls. It is called the Great Commission Matthew 28:18-20. So for an example, when you are raising kids it should mirror how Christ raises His kids (us). When you are loving your wife it should mirror how Christ loves His bride (us) so that all the world can see His glory.

That is the true point of life, marriage, kids, etc. Not just to get joy. Marriage and kids is work and heartache. It's filled with worry and sometimes deep sorrow. And you want to take this to heaven? Put the fruit down my friend.

Forgive me for not using more scripture to back up my claims.

That is not what i'm saying. I'm saying that some of the things God has in heaven don't aliegn with what i actually want/care about. I don't care about gold streets or mansions. I personally enjoy a nice sunset and sunrise but in heaven, there may not be a sun. I like coastal cities and coastlines but in heaven there may not be a coast, etc. I'm not telling God that he's not good enough or heaven isn't good enough, just that i don't need excessive riches or big houses to enjoy my life, i'm ok with some basic stuff.

"In your case you want to add child raising to an already perfect dwelling place. The nerve of humans is astonishing."

So you're saying i can't have children in heaven ? Since raising a child is apparently a bad thing to you. You're lack of sense is astonishing.

1) "Your lack of understanding of Gods sovereignty is a problem" 2) "Meaning you don't trust God to make a place you will enjoy"

1) I'm well aware that God is in control. 2) Because he's taking things away from me that i enjoy that's also NOT a SIN. Now that doesn't mean that i won't enjoy heaven but that i won't be living the life i want to have up there.

" The purpose as a human is to be conformed to the image of Christ and proclaim it to the world. Correct, we are suppose to live like Jesus, but that doesn't mean we can't have kids. Everything you listed in the paragraph is NOT a sin.
So what's the problem ?

"That is the true point of life, marriage, kids, etc. Not just to get joy. Marriage and kids is work and heartache. It's filled with worry and sometimes deep sorrow. And you want to take this to heaven? Put the fruit down my friend.

Ummmm, what's wrong with joy in marriage ? You're implying that joy shouldn't be the main part in marriage (and i understand what you mean but still). And a marriage with kids is only work and heartache when we are on earth. That's why I'm saying just continue in heaven and raise my kids there. But apparently to you marriage and kids only cause suffering, and that it won't be any different in heaven. You logic makes 0 sense.

Because marriage supposedly won't be in heaven.
Yes, because marriage is until death do you part. There is no longer death in heaven so there is no marriage. That is not the same as saying that there is not those types of relationships. It says we will be like angels. The question is what is it to be like an angel?

Ok so I went a little too harsh with some statements. Let me clear that up. "The nerve of humans" was not directed to you directly. It was a broad statement meaning that we all have the same issue about something. I remember being a kid and being disappointed that we wouldn't sleep in heaven lol. Or when I was older and being disappointed that sex wouldn't be in heaven. I just had a lack of understanding of God and heaven. Because God is infinite I will continue being ignorant about a lot. Just look i how screwed my explanations up lol

The kid in heaven thing came off wrong as well. You won't have kids in heaven because heaven isn't made for procreation. God said He is gathering His sheep for their elder Brother (Christ). When I highlighted the bad things of raising a child it was to point out that all of that has no place in heaven. Worry and things like sorrow will be eliminated. So in my mind, raising a child in heaven as you would on earth, brings both the joy and the pain to heaven. And again there is no room for the pain part. I thought you meant you wanted to take everything about raising kids to heaven. Honestly I probably shouldn't have even mentioned that.

Relationships in heaven will be more like brother and sister. It will be all the good of relationships to an infinite level. Meaning you will have whatever fulfillment you need met. The longing to have a child will be fulfilled somehow in Christ. The longing for a spouse will be fulfilled. You will lack nothing. Christ is like a Father, Mother, Brother, etc. All truly good and righteous longings will be met.

I haven't done a in depth study on heaven yet so I'll refrain from giving my opinion on the streets of gold etc.

Now for the lack of understanding part. I remind you that I began by saying no offense and saying that our knowledge is lacking in the things of God. If you actually think you will be living a life that you don't completely want, or one that is lacking in an area, you have a misunderstanding of God and heaven. I maybe wrong, but you seem to be stuck on what you think brings you happiness. That if God takes it away He has nothing better to fill it with. Like even though heaven is great, I would like it more if I had this. If that is true that's an issue. You are right kids are not a sin, they are a great blessing. However, there is a greater blessing than kids. And you will find it in Christ. Sometimes we have to let go of good to get the better. The problem is we have no idea what is better so we stick with the good and we think it's the best. Heaven will exceed your standards of joy. And it will do so without you having marriage or kids. Just gotta trust that God is better.

As for the joy in marriage part. Of course joy is a goal of marriage. It's not all heartache. I know this. I'm not that ignorant lol give me a little credit lol I just misunderstood you. I understand what you meant now. You are speaking along the lines of a "glorified marriage" in heaven. One where only the good parts exist. (I hope I got that right). Like I said, I thought you meant take all parts of kids and marriage to heaven, meaning the good and bad parts. My mistake.

Thank you for responding, and yes, for the most part now you know what i mean. I guess I'm a little scared of falling in love and getting married, hoping to enjoy the afterlife with my wife, only for God to take her away. Or to have children in heaven where there is no sin, so they won't have to suffer here on earth, only again for God to say "nope". Imagine wanting to meet new people or know other people in heaven, only to realize that there's a limited amount of people in heaven. Won't we get bored of the same people over and over again for eternity ? Why not have kids ? But you're right i have to trust God that he has something better and although i don't really understand/agree with his ways, he knows better then i do.

I wonder if a caterpillar heard what it was like to be a butterfly and said "WHAT? I won't be able to eat leaves any more?!"

Some of the things people consider all-important here won't matter there. Apparently having kids is one of them.

I don't understand it at all. Apparently neither do you. But I bet you will when you get there, just like a butterfly understands not eating leaves any more.

Angels are male. So what happens to women? Women will become only history in heaven? 😳 That is if God will not erase memories of the female population. And that is why there will be no marriage in heaven.

So much for women who want to be not only equal with men but want to be superior to men, only to be extinct in heaven. 😔

I'm not sure if there is scripture that states there are no female angels.

Won't we get bored of the same people over and over again for eternity ? Why not have kids ?

I'll try my best to explain this. Because God is eternal He dwells outside of time. Meaning He is in the past, present, and future. That's hard to comprehend, only because we know nothing but the bonds of time. So outside of time is just this long "now". If that makes sense.

Now, I could be wrong about this, so if you disagree I won't mind. Bear with me. Have you ever been in a moment where you say to yourself "I wish this moment could last forever??" Ok I'd say take that joy, that feeling of love, excitement, passion, zeal, pleasure or whatever else you were feeling, multiple that feeling by infinity (because God is infinitely good and wise), and stick it outside of time into eternity. Now you have the greatest moment of your life on repeat. That "now" sustains you through eternity. Meaning all those great feelings you had just stay there. They won't pass tomorrow because you are in tomorrow. You can't look back and reminisce about it because it doesn't pass! You may ask what will I be doing? Does it really matter? I remember in my teenage years laying with my girlfriend doing absolutely NOTHING and I wanting that moment to last forever! Just her presence alone made me feel that way! In heaven I'll have the presence of one who is infinitely greater and that presence alone will keep me infinitely happy.

Some preachers say we will also spend eternity chasing the infinite wisdom and knowledge of God. I forget where the biggest library in the world is, but a man can spend all of his days reading in that library and he won't get close to finishing it. Scientist could spend all of there days studying science books and they won't even scratch the surface of true knowledge. And that's just earthly knowledge. Thousands of years and we haven't even scratched the surface! You can spend eternity exploring knowledge you can touch and see. But wait there's more! Add to that the spiritual knowledge that we can't see or touch! If space is basically limitless and it's physical, there's no limits to what's in the spiritual realm! Things the eyes haven't seen and ears haven't heard! God is so vast that eternity in His presence will be never ending.

Seriously, Kids and marriage is great, but it will have nothing on what's waiting for you. You will not miss it. You will be like a kid who thinks his toy stick is the best toy ever, until his father brings him legos, hot wheels, and remote control cars etc lol He then will understand that though his stick was good, there was something much better that made that stick seem small in comparison.

Now, I hope I've broadened your perspective a little bit. I'm trying to get you to see how grand and glorious God is. Yet my ignorance will never do Him justice. There's not enough words. When Moses asked God what name he should give the children of Israel, God said I Am that I Am. Why? Because there was no name, no thing, no words that God could actually and truly compare Himself to. He's like nothing we know. Trust that He has something greater for you and look forward to that day. ;)

interesting discussion
God is not going to take away your wife in heaven if she is also a believer!
I mean she may actually die before you and then be waiting for you at the pearly gates. Is that what you think God separates everyone and we will all be in heaven ON OUR OWN???

Not really. Just that because there's no marriage in heaven i'm not gonna be in a relationship with my wife anymore. It seems like we won't even feel the same anymore or even enjoy each other.

? what do you mean
you just going to stop loving someone in heaven, thats not true! . If they are in heaven you going to love them even more than you could possibly do so on earth because they going to be there forever!

ok you need to have a serious talk with God about this because I think you are wayy off base here about what He has for you.
