melchezidek is simply another priesthood that existed before the Leviticle who served over the law
melchezidek was about Abraham’s promise not the law for the levites it was 430 years before the law when he blessed Abraham and brought forth the bread and wine of communion
“And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.”
Genesis 14:18-20 KJV
all this occurred before the law was given , and before the leviticle order of Aaron was exclusively established in Moses law, when the priesthood changed from melchezideks order , the law also changed and the levites became a shadow of the priesthood order of God as the law was a shadow of the gospel
“If therefore perfection were by the
Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that
another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
For
the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. For it is evident that
our Lord sprang out of Judah; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
And it is yet far more evident: for that
after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
For he testifieth,
Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
For
the law made nothing perfect, but
the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
And inasmuch as
not without an oath he was made priest: (For those priests were made without an oath; but
this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec ( psalm 110:4)
By so much was
Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: But
this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
For such an high priest
became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's:
for this he did once, when he offered up himself. For
the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity;
but
the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.”
Hebrews 7:11-28 KJV
Melchezidek really speaks of Christ and the New Testament before the law enters into the earth and reappeared as he fulfilled it and gave the new .
Jesus is the high priest but has nothing to do with the leviticle priesthood of the law he wasn’t allowed to be a priest of the law he wasn’t Levite , his priesthood is from the beginning and theirs is added in because of sin so they the sinners were also the temporary priests presiding over a temporary law
so he melchezidek really is connected to Christ and the New Testament but notice once the law came no one heard about melchezidek accept in one or teo
Mentions in prophecy that there would rise up a priest from this order of melchezidek later and we know now he has come and entered into our place of calling
“Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect,
he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.”
Hebrews 5:8-10 KJV
“Wherefore,
holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;”
Hebrews 3:1 KJV
It really was a prophetic foretelling of the new order and way opened by Christ that man could enter into heaven through him leviticle preistfood and law can never offer the same it only ends in death for even the priests because they too were sinners
Christ exists forever and serves in Gods presence in order to bear our sins and intercede on our behalf
So we have confidence as the law and levites could never approach or even suggest
“
Who is he that condemneth? It is
Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”
Romans 8:34 KJV
he is advocating our cause before the lord and interceding on our behalf forever so we can approach the light and not be afraid
