And, at the risk of not sounding sensitive, I will say this. When I first read your post, the very first thing that came to mind was this : "I hope that not everything has been lost, because that would mean that you no longer had Jesus ."
I am truly sorry to hear that your marriage is no longer, I would not like to know what that feels like. May you find Grace in Our Lord and Savior and King, Jesus, as well as Comfort, Peace and Joy.

A spousal relationship is established in God's eyes when the two make one, wink wink. Marriage is a public confession of that relationship. You can divorce and withdraw that confession, but you're still spousal in God's eye. Always will be.

Having been through one in my first marriage years ago I can say that it can be very painful. Others here have experience divorce too. Hopefully, you'll find comfort and support from the members of this site. Glad to have you as part of our community. Welcome to CC.Divorce
