I have heard a bunch of reasons but they don't make any sense.

1. They say that California has the most stringent lockdown rules bankrupting the small business owners but that doesn't make any sense. I saw that Hollywood movies were not under any restrictions, and I saw pictures of Newsom dining out showing that there is no need to wear a mask and I saw Pelosi visiting her hair dresser, again no mask, no lockdown.

2. They claim that the "anti fire protection" strategy is not working, but is that really true. Some feel that the forests need to burn every now and then just like the Indians setting fire to the prairie in control burns. I see the forest burning in California and you know that once it burns it won't burn again, so there you go, problem solved.

3. Some blame the rolling blackouts on the emphasis on green new energy. But the real motivation to the green new energy is to reduce your carbon footprint, no better way to do that than to have a blackout and just stop using electricity altogether.

4. Others blame the "mismanagement" of the economy, converting California from the wealthiest state in the union to the poorest when comparing the number of people living in poverty. True enough but then don't complain about all the progressive things California is doing to help the poor. They have bail reform where they don't put prisoners in jail until their trial and they don't stop shoplifting which not only benefits the poor but also small entrepreneurs who steal from Walgreens and then sell what they stole on the street.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

Newsom pulled a pretty good strategy by making the recall more about Elder than about him.

Polling-wise, Newsom has been rallying for a while, but took a small dive the last few days. Momentum tends to indicate deeper trends.

Tl;dr, I wouldn't bet on either.

I live in Queens and worked in Brooklyn, I am very well connected to the inner city and minorities of various shades of brown. No one is buying the idea that Elder is "the black face on white supremacy". I suspect that will not get them any votes, if anything it will motivate a whole bunch of minorities to go to the polls and not just vote, but vote for Elder.

So a recall that was motivated most by the middle class will now have minorities joining with them.

I get that Newsom has the best voter fraud division working for him in this, but it is clear everyone is well aware of the use of voter fraud now. It is a simple matter to catch that when you are clued in and watching for it.

Consider something else, after yesterdays baseball game between Yankees and Mets they left the stadium chanting "F Joe Biden". This is NY, this is supposed to be the stronghold for Democrats. NY has not suffered as much as California has under inept leadership. Newsom's only chance is fraud and I suspect they'll be caught like a mouse in a mouse trap (and not one of those humane mouse traps).

Recalling him for the state of California is FAR EASIER than recalling themselves, right?

California has only themselves to blame for the state of their State.

Given how brilliant they hold themselves up to be, you would think they would have figured out by not that Socialism DOES NOT WORK!

Agreed. Voter fraud, after last November, is no longer deniable. I wonder if perhaps it has been the norm on the left coast for years and just went nation wide last election?
