what Jesus did was compress the first 3 commandments to Love only GOD and the last 6 to Love your fellow man, they are held fast by the 4th, Sabbath keeping, which is the seal of GOD for his elect, the law's of GOD are to be integrated into our live's, so that we live the law rather than force it upon ourselves, the Law's are a buffer and a barrier, to safe guard an educate us from sinful transgression's, which they didn't have in the day's of Noah.
No you missed the whole point of what Jesus was trying to say
it’s not by the law we grow in Christ. It’s the law by which we grow
as Paul said the law Exposed our sin not teaches how Not to Sin

It's scripture. Not hypocrisy. My,Our, hearts are open.
When we encounter those bent on altering the truth of God in Christ, we're to labor toward correction.
Which has been done and for some time.

However, when the issue isn't a matter of lacking right understanding, but examples a dedicated effort to communicate false doctrine and corrupt truth, we owe it to the truth to recognize that. And oppose its efforts in defense of the kingdom.

Furthermore and lastly, I took the time to review your post history. You may want to remember that exists when thinking to stand against the Saints in defense of one whose Exegetical profile is similar to your own.
That’s the point when you try to Correct us you doing right but when we try to
Correct you you go off the deepend

That’s hypocrisy. This is. Discussion forum. Your not discussing your pushing and then attacking anyone who does
Not agree with you. And like another
Poster said you just attack. Not scripture
No proof. Just your word

It is true that works do not produce salvation, but to be saved we must accept Christ in our hearts, we must have faith in all Christ is and tells us. Without this faith we cannot have salvation. If we have no faith in how Christ tells us to live our lives here on earth, our faith is not complete enough to be counted as faith.
No one has perfect faith my friend. Jesus said faith if a Mustard seed can move a mountain. And let’s not forget when the disciples could not heal a mans daughter and Jesus asked him if he believed. He said yeah lord I believe but help Me with My unbelief

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches his disciples, saying, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16 NIV)

But just a little bit later he tells them, "Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them." (Matthew 6:1 NIV)

These two admonishments seem to be in contradiction with one another; but since they come so close together, it seems like there is probably a way to harmonize them. Are there different types of good deeds one should or should not do before men? What did Jesus mean by each of these statements if they don't contradict one another?

Many posters on this site warn against working because we are saved by faith not works. They add that we can never earn our salvation through works, and our works is not looked at by the Lord to achieve righteousness, that is only given to us as a gift. They feel these things mean we must be careful of our works.

For 300 years the church was led by either the men who knew Christ or were trained by these men. They said that Christ wanted us to live transformed lives, that faith in Christ included faith in all he said and to have faith in him was to live for him. They weren’t interested much in doctrine, they thought people understood scripture differently. They stood united in the core of beliefs and guarded against adding or taking from that core but were tolerant of differences in interpretation. There were heresies they argued against, but would never force their beliefs.

What do you think the Lord wants from us?
Paul's letter to the Ephesians says it best:

For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not by works, so that no one can boast.
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.

stop playing the victim

you are no victim

you are rather an instigator of threads that create division and promote your opinions on the law and salvation

you might rather ask this question:

Does your Christianity that you live an act of taking over God's role as judge or as a child of the Lord?

of yourself. here again is part of your accusatory op, since you keep trying to change the narrative when someone points out your deflection

you are accusing posters on this site. plain and simple. and you have done this in thread after thread and no doubt you will continue

so again, you are no victim but are deflecting because again, it is pointed out that you are the one judging
Now you are NOT trying to judge hit, or strike at me? Have you read your posts?

Romans 13:1-14 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain
Colossians 3:22 Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.

Matthew 17:24-27 When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax went up to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the tax?” He said, “Yes.” And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tax? From their sons or from others?” And when he said, “From others,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free. However, not to give offense to them, go to the sea and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself.”

John 15:14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.
Yes and amen. The operative is if we obey God's word and his directions we will be exempt from man's judgment. We can still be cursed by the law and possibly be imprisoned and or executed, until the rapture everybody will sleep after the first death. Saved or unsaved. But only God's elect will be resurected or taken away. If the President or other leader orders us to have/get abortions to reduce overpopulation and or having more fetuses to harvest. He/she orders us to round up and execute say Illegal aliens, people of color, etc. Then we are not required to comply that which violates God's Law.

Israel has been appointed evil rulers as punishment for national sins. Those who Bow or bend a knee to or take the mark of such monsters will end up in the lake of fire. If Trump would have ordered us to take to arms and prevent illegal aliens from crossing, by use of deadly force. I'd be a consiencious objector because it's against God's law.

20If anyone sacrifices to any god other than the LORD alone, he must be set apart for destruction.d

21You must not exploit or oppress a foreign resident, for you yourselves were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

22You must not mistreat any widow or orphan. 23If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to Me in distress, I will surely hear their cry. 24My anger will be kindled, and I will kill you with the sword; then your wives will become widows and your children will be fatherless. (BSB)

Same goes for child sacrifice, Idoltry, Sorcery, Astrology, Homosexuality, Adultery, etc.

I believe that blind obedience to leaders over and above respect for rank and/or office is irresponsible. I would rather go to the gallows than to intentionally kill an innocent person or cause a child to be tempted.

In short I put the Bible above the constitution.

I digress, I'm sorry. The subject is works.
"Faith and works should travel side by side, step answering to step, like the legs of men walking. First faith, and then works; and then faith again, and then works again until they can scarcely distinguish which is the one and which is the other."

If you were learning to play tennis, would you say that it is impossible to play perfectly so why work at it? Why then should we not follow Jesus because we can't do it perfectly.

Once again, you have twisted another's words.

E-G didn't say anything about not being able to follow Jesus perfectly, yet that's what you clearly imply.

All differences of theology and interpretation aside, this one habit of yours makes it difficult to have a reasonable discussion with you.

"Be ye perfect as your father in heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:48

Basically, we are to embody the spirit of truth, be Christ like, as Christians. Which is what so many believe already.
We can't be literally perfect as Christ is because we're human living in, navigating through, the world where our adversary dwells as lord.
Just as Christ has faithful followers so to does the enemy.
The truth is as an armor from God.

are you Catholic by any chance? you seem very concerned about laws and such

17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

you forgot that Jesus came to FULFILL the law...all of it

in this manner, He did what mankind cannot do. He was perfect in all His ways and therefore never broke the law...something no human can ever attest to

about righteousness: Jesus is speaking to the religious leaders of His day. they believed themselves to be righteous because of their adherence to the law...an adherence so extreme they invented new laws which Jesus condemned

salvation is not an agreement. it is a transition from death to life

I'm not getting into it with you. I simply wanted to clarify what scripture actually states.

again, salvation is not some kind of 'agreement' the law, for believers, has been fulfilled. that, is in the Bible. period

I will refrain from responding to the usual accusations you like to hurl at people who try to show you where you went off the rails
You, who zzzzzz, in replies to Christians here will refrain from what? Zzzzzzing? Not likely.

Not accusations. Observations of ignorance and Animus directed toward God's people and the truth of his message.
And you'll refrain....next time? Since you just responded using the same rhetoric that demonstrates lack of knowledge and obstinate refusal because of the sins of pride and arrogance, to admit you also refuse to learn the truth?

No problem at all. At this point you're a trinity of ignorance and foul disdain for Christians. The personal Animus that focuses 3 fold on Blik is concentrated evil.

Blik dear, you're clearly doing something right. The hounds of darkness travel in packs and are afraid. :giggle:

That’s your problem
your trying to do it in the flesh. If your own power. That’s why you won’t give up the law because it’s all about toy
I am being perfected in Christ. It’s not work. Or me. It’s Christ working in me

Nope the law is a schoolmaster to lead us to Christ
1 it exposes our sin against god and his perfection
2. It exposes why God can not have a relationship with us for all have sinned
3 it exposes the leans of redemption and atonement the sacrifice for f the lamb
They s should lead us as the tax collector to break down in humility noble to even look up as the schoolmaster completes its job and the law is Fulfilled in us.

After this the law has no purpose it fulfilled its job in our life. Now we look to the law of love. And allow gods love and power to grow us as we seek to love him and others.

no

we are not accountable to the law and it is not our teacher

my conviction is that all believers should familiarize themselves with the OT as it makes a foundation for the new, but we are not judged by the law if we are believers. in fact, we are no longer under condemnation

I will add that at times, this is misunderstood to mean we think we can sin with no effect, but that is not what is being said and not what anyone thinks. if someone believes that, they are deceived

the Holy Spirit is our teacher according to the NT and we are new creatures in Christ

much of the NT letters were written to correct error and one of the worst errors, was attempting to mix the law and belief in Christ

Paul says in Gal. 3:1, 13, 16-17, 19, 24) (v.1) O FOOLISH Ga-la’-tians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? (v.13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, CURSED IS EVERYONE THAT HANGETH ON A TREE: What law is this talking about? Let the bible speak for itself.

(v.16) Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of One, AND TO THY SEED, which is Christ. (v.17) And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

Now pay attention, the law that is being spoken of here came four hundred and thirty years after this covenant. But God’s holy commandments have been around forever even before man was created. Remember that Satan was kicked out of heaven because iniquity (sin) was found in him. And what is sin? The transgression of the law (commandments). Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Now we have just read the biblical definition of sin, the transgression (breaking) of the law (commandments.) It doesn’t matter what you or I think sin is, it’s what God says sin is that counts. (1John 3:4)

(v.19) Wherefore then serveth the law? A question is being asked here. Then why should we serve this law? It was added because of transgression, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; the law that we are talking about here was added because of sin. But we now know that sin is the transgression of the law.

How do you add a law if sin is the transgression of the law? Because there are two sets of laws, you have God’s holy commandments which abided forever, and you had the animal sacrificial law which was added because of sin, but it was only good until the seed should come to whom the promise was made, and that seed was Jesus.

(v.24) Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. This animal sacrificial law was only a schoolmaster.

And this schoolmaster taught you that when you sinned in ignorance blood had to be shed (an animal sacrificed). But Christ being the ultimate sacrifice shed his precious blood once and for all, and by doing this putting an end to the animal sacrificial law. Paul says in Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. This law is the Ten Commandments

Have you sacrificed a cow for your sin? Have you attended the temple three times in the last year? Have you sought a priest to examine a pimple and pronounce it "clean"? Have you stoned the adulterers, thieves, and idolators in your midst?

I doubt it.

All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do EVERYTHING written in the Book of the Law."

You are accountable to the law? You're hooped (and yes, that's a euphemism).

Paul said in (Gal. 6 (v.3) For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. (v.4) But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. The book says let every man prove his own work, and if your work is good then you will rejoice in it. (v.5) For every man shall bear his own burden. That’s right; every man must bear his own burden. You mean you thought that all you had to do was confess the name of Jesus and that was it? Brothers and sisters you must work to get salvation. (v.7) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. God is not to be played with. Whatsoever you plant, that’s what you are going to reap. Be it good works unto eternal life, or evil works unto eternal damnation. The choice is yours, and your works belong to you.

Jesus says in Revelation 22: 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

People we must realize, that it is the keeping of God’s holy laws that separates the righteous from the unrighteous. (Titus: 3:8) This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. You must learn (by the word of God) what God expects of you and maintain his expectations to the end, if you expect to be saved.
That’s right; every man must bear his own burden. You mean you thought that all you had to do was confess the name of Jesus and that was it? Brothers and sisters you must work to get salvation.
pretty much. but after that, we renew our minds according to the word of God...there is nothing we can do to earn salvation and no work will get or keep us saved

God is the one who keeps us...and no one can take us out of His hand. or do you have to work to hang on to Him?

this is what happens when someone studies with preconceived ideas and goes about finding verses they think proves their point

if we are in Christ, we are no longer condemned. Jesus fulfilled all that was required to gain our salvation

and here you are, telling us that we must keep all the commandments...disregarding the fact no one has ever done that and that is the reason God sent His Son in the first place

notice I am not saying this means we can sin. no one is saying that

The christian world we living in today doesn’t seem to understand what type of works this is. It’s starts off with repentance, that’s one of the first thing Jesus says when he got started in his ministry, Jesus says in Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. When people see works in the Bible spoken by Paul and they see law, being put together, they assume that’s talking about the Royal law (Commandments). The works of the law was nail to the cross, and that works were animal sacrificial laws.

Let’s first take a look at this law that was nail to the cross that Paul explains in Hebrews 10: (v.1) For the law (what law, the law of animal sacrifice?) having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. (v.9) Then said he, (Jesus) Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first that he may establish the second. (v.10) By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

When Jesus died on the cross that was the end of the first covenant, which consisted of the blood of animals and the keeping of God’s commandments. And his death also brought in the second covenant, which consist of the blood of Jesus and the keeping of God’s commandments. (v.18) Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. In other words, no more animals are going to die for your sins.
