"Without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him” Heb 11:6. There are many in the Christian world who claim that all that is necessary to salvation is to have faith; works are nothing, faith is the only essential. But God's Word tells us that faith without works is dead, being alone. Many refuse to obey God's commandments, yet they make a great deal of faith. But faith must have a foundation.

One of Satan's most successful deceptions is to lead men to claim to be sanctified, while at the same time they are living in disobedience to God's commandments. These are described by Jesus as those who will say, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works?”
The lawyer who came to Christ with the question, “Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus answered. “What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” Then said Christ, “Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live” luke 10:25-28. These words meet the individual cases of all. Are we willing to comply with the conditions? Will we obey God and keep His commandments? Will we be doers of the Word and not hearers only?

The key is understanding what constitutes God's commandments under the new covenant.

Yes. And the key to that is understanding Christ when he gave the law in stone saying you have been told and then said but I tell you. Christ took the earthly commands in stone away and gave us the spirit of the law.

Good luck my friend.
he went away because he loved money more than God

Jesus exposed that truth in him, he refused to acknowledge or repent of it.

the law failed as a schoolmaster in that mans life

i just pray it does not fail in yours

I agree that the young man he fail, but the law never fail. Let's go back into Matthew 19: 16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. This is not the schoolmaster law, this is the Ten Commandment (Royal law). The schoolmaster law was the animal sacrificial law, let's go to Galatian 3: (v.19) Wherefore then serveth the law? A question is being asked here. Then why should we serve this law? It was added because of transgression, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; the law that we are talking about here was added because of sin. But we now know that sin is the transgression of the law. The transgression of the law (commandments). Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Now we have just read the biblical definition of sin, the transgression (breaking) of the law (commandments.)

How do you add a law if sin is the transgression of the law? Because there are two sets of laws, you have God’s holy commandments which abided forever, and you had the animal sacrificial law which was added because of sin, but it was only good until the seed should come to whom the promise was made, and that seed was Jesus.

(v.24) Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. This animal sacrificial law was only a schoolmaster.

And this schoolmaster taught you that when you sinned in ignorance blood had to be shed (an animal sacrificed). But Christ being the ultimate sacrifice shed his precious blood once and for all, and by doing this putting an end to the animal sacrificial law.

So Let's go back to Matthew 19: 18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

Now the young should have never tried to justify his position, because if you keeping these Commandments as Jesus says that all you needed to do enter in to life. But because the young man said what lack I yet, Jesus let the young man know that there is another step, because the young man took the situation there.

Let's prove this in Psalm 19: 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

Notice, that the law of the Lord is perfect and converting the soul. The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes
That's one reason the young man was bless and had great possession because he kept the law from his youth up.

It seems to me that the schoolmaster law was the fleshly commands that were to guide the Hebrews to keep the law, Cutting flesh was one, to teach them they belonged to God. Food laws were to guide them into feeding only holy things to their minds. When Christ ushered in the kingdom of God, they received the holy spirit to guide them. All the laws and guides in stone or earthly guides were taken away and Christ ushered in a new kingdom, the kingdom of God based on the spirit of the Lord.

Whats being discussed here is commonly known as the SACRIFICIAL laws....MOSES's Law's.... What they did was help the Jews keep the 10 commandments, because they were to hard
MOSES's Law's broke down the commandments, then became more important and pronounced, so if you did something like pick grain to eat, on the Sabbath, you were vilified....It's believed the ESSENE's even outlawed going to the toilet on the Sabbath, that was just addressing Sabbath... they had about 6/10 rules for each commandment (660?)
(The scriptures of the dead sea sect....Theodor H Gaster)
The sacrifice of Christ, put an end to these Law's (Moses laws).
Christ's sacrifice did not end the commandments given by GOD

The funny thing is. There was only one part of the law that was written in stone

It is the ten commandments.

They were written in stone and placed in the Arc of the covenant with a peace f manna and Arron's rod That budded

These were all the things God had against the people. It proved they were all sinners.

Once a year the priest would slaughter a lam without spot. and pour the lambs blood over top of the arc. That way the two cherub, ehn looking, Could not see the guilt of the people. But instead saw the sacrificial blood.

This is why Paul called these tablets ministers of Death. As long as they are exposed. Our sin debt is proven. Unless the lamb of God comes and hangs on a cross. And his blood is applied to us.

This way the father does not see our sins. He sees the sacrifice of the innocent one

ps. The law is one item We don't cut parts of the law out just to suit our belief system. Nor do we add to the law things which are not there again, in order to suit our belief system

Paul explain what the saw was and why it was given

7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” 8 But sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead. 9 I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. 10 And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. 11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me. 12 Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.

The law said, thou shalt not covet. Thats one of the ten commands. And as paul stated, that law which many thought to be good. instead brought death.

so let's see if this is right now

you are saying a bunch of other laws that they could not keep, helped them keep the big 10. you know the Bible is not clear on that, so again, great you came along to boost our understanding

what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? what does Moses law broke down the commandments and then became more important and pronounced mean? really...kindly explain cause from where I sit, my understanding does not give sufficient coverage to whatever it is you are fostering here

The sacrifice of Christ, put an end to these Law's (Moses laws).

what are Moses' laws that Christ ended? and please explain why Christ had to die if it made no difference to the commandments?

really. I'm puzzled. and thank you kindly
