While my marriage wasn't going well anyway, when I decided to return to Church and really commit my life to Christ, it was the worst thing in the world to my spouse. After months and months of prayer and trying to reach her, she still has as hard of a heart as ever, maybe even more. We agreed on getting a divorce just yesterday. The funny thing is that all of the things she didn't like about me, Christ had changed, but she said it was too late. I am sure God has put conviction on her and she is ignoring it. I kept my faith, and have to remain faithful that God has a plan for all this.

Outside of that...I started reading Apologists books and got answers to questions I had about Christianity that no one had ever been able to answer for me. The approach of logic and science as well as forensic investigative tactics leads to a very obvious conclusion of God, and now I have been practicing apologetics when I go soul winning. Christ changed me so much, stopped drinking, smoking, desire for worldly things and pursuing "happiness", and have become a much less selfish and compassionate person, in a very short time. Nice to meet you all...divorce is a devastating thing so it is good to have a community of Brothers and Sisters in Christ to turn to outside of my local Church

Divorce can indeed be a devastating thing and I speak from experience. There are others here with their own horror story. This is, as you say, a community of Brothers and Sisters in Christ and glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

Would definitely be a lie to say it isn't difficult. Unequally yoked as we were, we were still one flesh, and now that has been severed, hurts as much as any death. At least for me.

"The Late Great Planet Earth" is a set of notes that brings important, first things together and gives the scripture references so you can look them up in the Bible version of your choice. I was not a Christian when someone loaned me the book and though it was not perfect, it started me down the road to Belief.

I'm well-acquainted with your pain as I stuck with an atheist two years after she de-converted.

It is good that there are resources like that out there. I am in general a very skeptical and analytical person, and people tried to appeal to me with religion emotionally, it never satisfied my intellect.

I am sorry to hear that. As hard as it is for us, we have to just have Faith and know that God has a plan for us and the outcome of things will be what is best! While I say and believe that, the pain is also a process you have to go through and it is rough.

Have you read "Evidence that Demands a Verdict", The Case for Christ series or CS Lewis writings? I'm sorry to hear about your marriage, but God can change a heart. Hold on, He's working everything for your good.

Mere Christianity was my first introduction to it, and it was great! Read Case for Christ, and I haven't read that one of McDowell's books though I read his son's book Chasing Love. The one that REALLY got me over was Stealing From God by Frank Turek and then Cold Case Christianity by J. Warner Wallace. I have a handful of others too. Watched Kent Hovind's creation seminar series and that blew my mind too.

I read that book years ago and other books of Hal Lindsey.

It sure is. It's the worst.

Now that I have gotten over the relief of being out of a relationship with an atheist, there are days I really miss her. In those moments, I remind myself are good times were gifts from a good God, but they cast long shadows I'm on the whole better off avoiding.

Glad I called it off before proposing. Can't imagine what it's like to go through this as a married couple.

I am sorry to hear that. As hard as it is for us, we have to just have Faith and know that God has a plan for us and the outcome of things will be what is best! While I say and believe that, the pain is also a process you have to go through and it is rough.

Welcome. I know what you mean. The good news is that God can use every event in our lives to bring about a blessing. It would have been far better not to find that out by getting divorced, but God really does work all things together for out good.

Evidence that Demands a verdict is an excellent read. I have yellow highlighter all over it. lol I was into apologetics for a while. Not everyone comes to the Lord through a traditional sermon. Case for Christ has a movie too. It really should be shown to youth groups, I think would be a good tool to use.

Ironically, I'm in the position of your wife, hard hearted with issues, I have struggled with my faith to the point of seeing more evidence suggesting God does not exist, what dark times thses are.. The word divorce has been thrown around.

That is very interesting. What has made you doubt?

Welcomes :)
Do remember dear friend all the forensics and science and logic in the world did not change you, those things require the miracle power of God.

His power can reach your spouse too.
