And the Scripture, which cannot lie, says we are NO LONGER under the school-master.
However, there are those, who even frequent message boards like these, who say to Jesus, Lord, Lord, but do not do the will of His Father which is in heaven. And they are still under the schoolmaster. For, if they do not come to a place of genuine faith, Jesus will say to them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (Matthew 7:21,23).

Concerning the terminology of "sinless perfection"...

I would contend that such is a misnomer that is often applied to the doctrine of entire sanctification in order to produce a straw man that is easily toppled by 1 John 1:8.

While "entire sanctification does not contend that sin is eradicated from the human body, and that we thus become sinless;

But rather it teaches that indwelling sin is rendered dead within us (Romans 6:6, Galatians 5:24, Romans 7:8) so that it no longer has any say over our behaviour (Romans 6:14).

Because it is a schoolmaster to lead men to Christ (Galatians 3:24); in showing mankind that he is a sinner in need of a Saviour (Romans 3:20); thus converting his soul (Psalms 19:7 (kjv)).
Thank you that’s what I have said all along

Sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4).
Sin they a far deeper than this my friend. While yes freaking the law is sin there are many more ways to sin
Your too focused on the law.

you should be giving those who are lost the gospel not judging them

And I would add...

Mat 23:25, Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Mat 23:26, Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Mat 23:27, Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Mat 23:28, Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

As this applies to the righteousness which is of God by faith as opposed to the righteousness of the law.

The righteousness of the law is what Jesus lambasted the Pharisees about;

While the righteousness of faith cleanses the inside of the cup and platter.
amen agreed and when the inside of the cup ( our heart ) is clean the outside ( our actions ) will be clean also. That’s what I was meaning about if we follow the gospel , we won’t have to worry about breaking the righteousness of the law because our hearts are changed from glory to glory and from faith to faith changing us inwardly which is where our deeds truly come from.

if we lust and look at others with sexual immoral ideas and fantasies dwelling in us were being led to commit sin . If we have greed ruling our heart we’re led into sin , if we let hate and unforgiveness rule our heart it’s leading us into sin ect that’s what the gospel is all about getting truly right with God who is now and has always been looking at mans heart

I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:10‬ ‭

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭139:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭20:27‬ ‭

“The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the Lord trieth the hearts.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭7:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that’s why the gospel seems so different in its doctrine it is the word by which God tries our hearts on the fire of refinement burning away the chaff and purifying us from within where our problem has always been since we became sinners

in the beginning

“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭6:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The middle

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The answer is let in his sharp double edged instrument aimed at our problem area our hearts and minds and the way we think , our desires

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the gospel is aimed inward and the law is about having the wicked heart and trying to act righteous by our own will and works like israel of the flesh did it can never change our heart to be told what evil not to do , but can change our hearts and lives to believe the gospel of spirit and truth.

Declaring the judgments of the Lord is not the same as personally judging those people who are condemned by the judgments of the Lord.

Those who do not do the will of Jesus' Father in heaven are not saved (Matthew 7:21-23).

The point that I have been making is that by the law is the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20).

If you find that you are violating any law, especially as Jesus re-defined the law in Matthew 5-7, then you need to realize that you are still a man in need of a Saviour / salvation.

The law is the plumb line by which we can determine whether we are really in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5);

While we are never justified through law-keeping (Galatians 2:16); but we are saved "not by works of righteousness which we have done; but through regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost" (Titus 3:5).

This regeneration and renewing makes us inadvertently obedient to the law as it is brought home to the heart as a spiritual principle.

If we are not inadvertently obedient to the principle of the law, then we can know that perhaps we have not been born of God; for it is the general disposition of those who are born of God that they "do not" and "cannot" sin (1 John 3:9). And sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4).

Take this as hyperbole if you wish. If it is exaggeration to make a point, what is the point?

That being born again will change your life so that you begin to walk in righteousness and holiness.

Even as it is written,

Pro 4:18, But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

No, the law is not sin.

However, by the law is the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20).
I never said the law was sin

and gain, Sin is far deeper than the law says.

if your looking just to the law You will be lacking knowledge of what true sin is.

When are you going to focus on people. And not how good you are?

the same with every law/ works salvationist- they redefine and missdefine what sin is, and water it down to convince themselves that they do not sin..

How can they look at what the pharisee did. And not see that in their own actions and words?

If we would keep in mind what Jesus, our Lord and master, said about the law whenever we read other verses telling us of law, then there would be no conflict in understanding.

  • Jesus said ( Matt. 22:37-40) that the entire Law rests on the two great commandments: “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
We read the ten commandments: do they tell us ho to love? We read Paul saying we are not under the law. Shouldn't we know the law is love so we understand Paul? Shouldn't we hear Paul as he says: in Romans 2:13 "For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified."

Are we to believe that God’s holy commandments are no longer to be kept in this world of modern Christianity? First let me say that God had Peter to clearly warn us about some of Paul’s writing. (2Peter:3:15-16) (v.15) And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; (v.16) As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Now let us take heed to this warning, we can’t ignore all the bible and just concentrate on a hand full of verses out of the writings of Paul. Because some of Paul’s writing is hard to be understood.

Grace is nothing more than a free gift. And that free gift is our access back to the tree of life (Jesus) which Adam caused us to lose by disobeying God. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Romans 5: 12) But to maintain your grace you must keep the law. (1John 3:4) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Now we have just read the biblical definition of sin, the transgression (breaking) of the law (commandments.) It doesn’t matter what you or I think sin is, it’s what God says sin is that counts.

Sisters and brothers when you read about the law having a shadow of good things to come, and the law that was our school master to bring us unto Christ, it was not referring to God’s holy commandments but the animal sacrifice law. Paul talks about two laws in his writing, thats why his writing can be hard to understand.

Now Daniel the prophet foretold the doing away of this law. (Dan 9:26-27) And after threescore and two weeks shall Mes-si’-ah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Now we know that Jesus is the Mes-si’-ah, and cut off means to be killed, and Jesus didn’t die for himself, but for the sins of the people. (v.27) “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.” When Jesus died on the cross he caused the sacrifice and oblation to cease. This signified the end of the law of animal sacrifice, not Gods Royal law (Ten Commandments, statues and Judgements.

No, the ten commands do not tell us how t love

if they did. Jesus would have said the ten commands are the greatest commands. And love is found in those.

He did not. He said these two commands are the greatest commands. And all the law and prophets are found (complete) in them.

No one is saying we can keep on sinning and are free to break any or all of the commands

it would help if one tries to understand what others are saying and not just assume.
