Was it not Christ that pointed out how ridiculous giving something other than what is asked for is. If someone ask for a fish do you give them a stone? So they asked Christ when would these things be, did he then answer them different than what they asked?
You left out what the LORD was instructing us to precisely pray for = CLUE = it was not pre-trib rapture

I am doing nothing but asking you a simple question did they ask him when these things will be?
i am doing exactly what the Lord taught me - direct you back to His words and examine them carefully.

What did the Lord Jesus Christ instruct us to pray for in the Gospel of Luke ch11

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

You have a evil desire in your heart that seeks to undermine the Holy Spirit's words by isolating one verse and forming a incorrect doctrine from that one verse = for your desire.
Hey there, brother; I don’t really see that stilllearning has an evil desire at all. He’s still learning. ;)

I agree if we will do as such then how much more will God do so. So if they asked him when would these things be. Did he who will give more so, actually answer when these things will be?

We ALL have evil desires, myself included. Any desire or thought that does not fully agree with the Holy Spirit/God's words are evil.

But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. Matthew 5:37

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?
I, the LORD, search the heart; Jer 17

PLEASE review Deut 4:1-2, Prov 30:5-6, Rev 22:18-19

Only by embracing these commands of God and taking them to the place where God can bless them, the heart, so they can recover.

God answers all prayers according to His Will.

Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” 37And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”

39He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying,
“O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.

How would you read Luke 21:36, Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

To us that is just proof text. So how do you read it or where do you find that we may be reading it wrong?
Dear Still Learning,

A wise Christian once said, "All fantasicim [false teaching] comes from the isolation of verses.

I have posted around the 1800 mark the ENTiRETy of that portion of scripture. Also, we are to test 'scripture against scripture'. For example 'one will be taken, the other left' mirrors verses in Zechariah 14:2 a prophecy of the end times, and if you look at Matthe 24:38-40 in its context "the taken" are those who were drowned in the flood--this was NOT a good thing. How important it is to read ALL of SCRIPTURE in its context AND to compare Scripture to Scripture. Repeatedly in both the old and new testament we are warned about what is to come. (compare prophecies in both the Old and New Testament)

The text that immediately follows the one you quoted...."21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. FOR THEN < how important every word of scripture is--every 'jot and tittle'

Note it say YOU. It is speaking to the BELIEVER.

9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’[a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.

There are two important messages here: For us to be watching for the signs God has given us. If there is a hurricane coming won't the ones who are prepared be more prepared than those who are ignorant of it? When there is a forest fire, who is more likely to escape, but those who are warned. Also, the most important thing to remember is what Christ called us to do. To love the Lord our God , to love others as ourself, especially those of the faith and To 'Go' and share the gospel. I think we should be praying always for God to take of the lens of doctrine we have been taught and not try to make scripture fit our long held beliefs.

And note too Scripture warns believers to watch out for False Messiahs--only those who believe He will come secretly could be deceived--those of us who know he is coming with a SHOUT and A LOUD TRUMPET blast and a HOST (multitudes) of his HOLY ONES will not.

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. The earth got baptized by the flood.I some times think that we are booth. you're find that in old times and new times people have no problem replacing scriptures.Or adding to say it's always a problem with a scripture in isolation is erroneous statement or a lie.Look in context and out of context but by the holy spirit.Nothing less then the best will dew.

Dear Rayzor, those who were baptized were Noah and the other 7. The Ark represents Christ himself--we are saved from death by Christ--he is our covering. The number 8 in the Bible represents a new beginning, meaning a new order or creation, and man's true 'born again' event when he is resurrected from the dead into eternal life.

Well, of course we are to be guided by the Holy Spirit--but people are often misguided by their own thoughts and ideas--again Scripture against Scripture, NOT doctrine against scripture.

It is due to his HUGE, HUGE , Investment in a debunked doctrine.

They invested so heavily in an easily debunked doctrine.

They litterally can not change their erroneous position.

It is called. Conclusions before investigation.

It has left them in a very sorry trap.

Big time.

It is sad to witness it.

They are in ashes and oblivious to it.

Nah.....they know they are beat.

Just can not honor Gods word.

They cant do it.

Dear Absolutely,

I'm thoroughly confused by this comment--how does it in anyway support an argument for your Pre-Trib position? When debating one's position FACTS should be put forth--attacking a person is what we see happening with Unbelievers against Believers--Liberals against conservatives--these things ought not be amongst Brothers and Sisters in Christ. This whole thread has become a battle and I don't see words against fellow believers as glorifying Christ or His kingdom. I really wish this site, made it clear how we are to present arguments--with civility, kindness, and respect. And presenting facts--NOT attacking the person presenting them.

And btw, Absolutely, there are many brilliant bible scholars who support a POST Trib Rapture--as the initiator of the thread stated there was no such doctrine of a pretrib rapture before Darby, which Schofield popularized--Christians read what the bible said and studied scripture against scripture.
