Has anybody read this series of books?
They are published by YWAM and are inspiring true stories of men and women who answered Gods call.
If you have a church library, they might be found in the childrens section or missionary/evangelism section. There arent just these books but others who had inspiring lives

Do you have a favourite Christian Hero? There are many...

some of my favourites from the past

Gladys Aywlard
Corrie Ten Boom
George Muller
William Booth

and still reaching out today

Jackie Pullinger
Joni Earackson Tada

These are ordinary men and women, and not necessarily pastors/ordained ministers.

I've always loved Gladys Aylward and how she saved all those kids. Both from women who sold them and when she eventually got them to safety, out of the country.

I just recently reread Chasing the Dragon, by Jackie Pullinger. Amazing woman.

There's another one I love called Mama Was a Missionary, told by her son Charles Ludwig. Great missionary, there, too.

George Muller has always impressed me. I've had times where money was short and the bills were overflowing and I tend to start worrying so the faith of Muller was amazing to me. That kind of faith is something I envy and am working on growing in my life.

Corrie Ten Boom wrote in 'Amazing Love' how she didnt feel right about asking for money to fund her mission trips, and how God put a stop to that church practice of begging!

Besides, you give more from your heart when you arent asked on the spot.
