I am going to a singles conference next week and I am really excited. The sessions seem very interesting and I am hoping to learn lots about things to do to ocupy time as well as give to the Kingdom while I'm waiting on my man to show up.
I also must admit that I am hoping to meet some guys. Hehehehehe. (in a little tinsy innocent voice)

I am wondering how many people have ever been to a singles conference. What was your experience like? What did you take away from your sessions? Did you make friends that you have stayed in touch with over the years?



 
I forgot to mention that if you are not single but happen to be in the singles forum, please don't vote in this poll as it will throw it off because there is a reason why you shouldnt be wanting to go to a singles conference.
 
I see some of you do not know what a Singles Conference is. It is like any other conference for any other group of people or cause. You have general sessions for everyone as well as smaller sessions that you choose depending on what relates better top your situation. The sessions at a singles conference are about things that Singles deal with. They range from never married topics to dealing with death and divorce, financial freedom, serving alone, child rearing.

Here are a few of this years session titles:
"When Your Get Up and Go is Gone"
"Storms"
"Moving Forward"
"Our Father"
"Analog Relationships in a Digital Age"
"Getting out of Debt"
"The credit Report (According to God"
"How to Marry a Millionaire"

I ve never been in a conference lke this but i think thatit will be very interesting, bc you can know other ppl in your same situation and see how they face it, learn what the bible say about it, encourage each other and make friends.
I really would like to go to one.....
 
I've never had the opportunity to go... Never even heard of one offered in my church denominations...

Amber, swing by and pick me up while you're on your way, will ya??!! :D I'm packed and ready to go (I never unpacked my Rapture bag, just in case. A singles conference sounds like WAY more fun and WAY more likely to happen than a miscalculated Rapture date any old day! :)
 
No. At 35, I've figured out how to navigate through those things by myself. I might have been interested when I was younger, I don't know. I think through work, I'm conference-d out perhaps?

I'm actually surprised that so many people have never heard of one or are not interested in attending one.

Allforone, I looked thru conference pictures of the last few years and there were many people of all ages, early twenties thru 60's even. I feel like I have learned to "deal" with my singleness too but at the same time these things offer more than just coping skills. They allow you to meet like believers from all over the country and gives you advice and encouragement on more issues than just waiting for or finding a mate.

- How to strike up a conversation with someone you've never met
- How to ask for a date
- How to figure out if your date really is a christian

Zero, you are crackin me up tonite.

Based off of info from others that have been to Singles Conferences, I think its more about your deveopment as a Christian and realizing your role as a single in the Kingdom than about trying to get a man/woman.

Funny, mostly women commenting, haha.
I have no interest. I was never a 'conference' guy to begin with & one on singles doesn't exactly hold much interest for me either.

hahahaha (thats very funny) , i think if you never unpacked rapture bag is good, bc it only changed date :D
