This post demonstrates your inflated view of yourself and your disparagement of others. You keep assuming that others are spiritually inferior to you. That’s unmitigated c**p. I have never before encountered someone who is simultaneously so wrong on so many levels and who also thinks they are right and everyone else is wrong.

I have concluded that you are delusional, deeply deceived, and dangerous. You need help.
If I did not know any better I would think he is a former member by the name of Peter. That guy was just as proud. Only this guy has different beliefs so.

If anyone can substantiate their point of view with holy scripture, of course I will be more inclined to listen to them; and I rarely ever disagree with holy scripture; which is more than can be said about you.
We have been doing this for weeks now

You ignore all the scripture or refuse to acknowledge it. Yoo just keep going to your pet verses. Whcih many have explained to you. how you take them out of context or misrepresent what they actually say.

Its time for you to start looking inside man.. You need to acknowledge you have a problem.

I consider this to be a personal attack.

Often when we think that the other guy has a "problem" the real problem is in our own heart and life.

Yoo just keep going to your pet verses.
The verses that you call my "pets" have not been explained to my satisfaction so that I might be able to cross over into your point of view. They will remain in holy scripture and until you can explain them in light of your doctrine, they will continue to exist as a testimony that your doctrine is not entirely on the up-and-up.

You need to show how they have been taken out of context and how they should be believed in their proper context.

Accusations without evidence are not going to convince anyone of your point of view.

Since it is very likely against the rules for me to say that I think that you are an unbeliever, I am not going to say that at this juncture.
Exactly; you can’t substantiate your position, so instead you disparage me. You are incapable of conceiving that you may be wrong, so you conclude that I must be an unbeliever. It’s a childish and pathetic way to deal with disagreements.

I have prayed that if I can defend myself against your attacks that you have leveled against me without putting you down, that the Lord would show me how to do that. However, it is a most recent prayer.

I do believe that the following scriptures are given to me as promises.

Jhn 15:20, Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

1Jo 4:4, Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1Jo 4:5, They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
1Jo 4:6, We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Which I have obtained by faith (Hebrews 11:33, 2 Peter 1:3-4, 2 Corinthians 1:20, Romans 4:20-22).

I conclude that you have the spirit of error and that because you persecute me, you are also one who would have persecuted Jesus. And because you do not keep my saying, you do not keep His, either.

How then can you be a genuine believer in Him?

1Jo 4:20, If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
1Jo 4:21, And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

Of course, what I have been preaching, if you would follow it, is that we are no longer bound by the letter of the law but are set free to walk according to the spirit of what is written (Romans 7:6).

In this, Jesus is our sabbath rest (Matthew 11:28-30)...even the fulfillment of the type that was given to us in the law of the sabbath.
That's probably about as close as we are going to get on an agreement...

I disagree with "spirit of what is written"....

The Letter is unto death. The Spirit is unto Life and the Ministration of Righteousness. Shouldn't try to mix the two.

OK, Grandpa, you and e-g see me as a legalist, so I must be a legalist.

End of story!
I'm not 100% sure you are a legalist.

But you have legalist tendencies. Which all of us pretty much do.

Probably why I am so involved with these discussions on Law is I wish there were something I could do to be Righteous before God. To give back, so to speak. To show how obedient I am...

But I know, firsthand, that is not the way...

We all who love the Lord and are in debt to Him forever, want to do something to be righteous, but as you said, we can't.

The fallen state we are in makes it impossible!

But what we can do is to present our bodies a living sacrifice to God in this life and let our beloved Saviour live that life through us.

That's where I place my focus!

Here is what I would say to that (while I agree with the basic premise of what is stated above).

Mat 1:21, And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Tit 2:11, For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Tit 2:13, Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Tit 2:14, Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Tit 2:15, These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Yes indeed, if we are determined by the law to be sinners (Galatians 3:24, Romans 3:20, Psalms 19:7), it does indeed show us that we need Christ.

Christ is able to save us from our sins and to redeem us from all iniquity.

He gave us the Holy Spirit.

And through the Holy Spirit, if we walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit, the righteousness of the law will be fulfilled in us (Romans 8:4).

I would encourage my opponents as concerning doctrine to memorize that verse (Romans 8:4).

If they do, I think that they will integrate what it says into their thinking and will not have an argument with me any longer.
Its you that doesn't understand Romans 8:4

Otherwise, you probably wouldn't have any "opponents".

Focus on Romans 8:2-3 for a little bit and then re-read Romans 8:4

Then compare Romans 8:1-3 with 2 Corinthians 3:6-9

That should cause you to draw some conclusions. I would be interested to hear what those conclusions are.
