oh my goodness! Some of these are absolutely adorable!
(though I can never get rice sticky enough to even dare dream of attempting that last one)
I think there is a short grain sticky rice, like for sushi, that can be molded like this.

So, has SYM run its course?

If so, it has had a good run, and good times....
honestly, I don't think it's fully run it's course.
I think, as someone once pointed out, we all do get busy in real life offline.
But more so than that, sadly, in my opinion and point of view:
I think all this covid :poop: and vaxx :poop: talk around other threads has caused a lot of division, even among beloved SYM frequent users :(and I find that very sad. I remember at one point we had decided among ourselves in here not to have talk about politics and all the stuff that causes strife, division, and stress, and yet it seems people feel that because of opinions and things posted in other areas that they no longer want to talk to people here either.
It's like bad feelings carry over.
So sad

okay, I'm going to get off that soap box.

Okay, in the US everyday is some sort of unofficial national day.....
https://nationaldaycalendar.com/what-day-is-it/
SO In keeping with the spirit of what this thread once held so dear, AND to celebrate it............

oh my goodness! NOW look how cute that is! Celebrating donuts, with snoopy AND my signature pink sprinkled donut! SOOOOO cute and perfect :p

However, the offical National Donut Day is the first Monday of June.
the (wikipedia) history can be found by clicking here
and now after looking into such I have something interesting, (and could turn into a lot of fun) to put down for a future history lesson with my kiddos.

Interestingly enough, the article also touches on Australia national donut day.
 could there be a valid reasons why donuts are celebrated so much among us in this thread?

Is this one of those so-called pagan holidays? :)

National Doughnut Day, or National Donut Day — celebrated in the United States and in some other countries, is on the first Monday of June of each year, succeeding the doughnut event created by The Salvation Army in Chicago in 1938 to honor those of their members who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.[1] The holiday celebrates the doughnut. Many American doughnut stores offer free doughnuts on National Doughnut Day.[2][3][4][5]

As far as calling it such today.....
i dough-not know.

I remember years ago working at a Walmart bakery making tons of donuts for National Donut Day. "I dough-not know" - wish I had of thought of that. :)

Wow guys! SYM was halfway down the 2nd page just now

Well, just saw something interesting, and thought all my donut pals would enjoy seeing it.

A man explains the sizes of the donut hole

Without looking at the presentation the guy was discussing, one would think it was a serious business. Perhaps it really was a life-and-death situation for them. Apparently, some people were concerned with the size of the donut hole that they documented the changes made to it.
The culprit behind this major hole issue were donut machines. They started punching smaller because unlike earlier donuts, they don't need as much space to dry. It's also possible that donut chains have instituted a standard size. Regardless, we will now be vigilant with our donut holes.

This explains why the donuts in old old movies look so  um weird.
