I mean I was thinking about it. I've been prideful since the day I was born. Would God forgive me something that seems so intrinsic to me?

Everyone has a sin nature; and yes, God forgives us for what is at the core of our being.

He is also able to change us from the inside out (2 Corinthians 5:17; Jeremiah 17:9, Ezekiel 36:25-27, Luke 8:15).

Yes. Not only forgive you, but remove your old sinful nature and give you a new one.

Only if we REPENT and TURN, that is the whole point, God wants us to TURN from our Sin Nature, the curse we received from listening to Satan, and to TURN unto His ways with the HELP of the Holy Spirit. So, Gd wants to TRANSFOEM US, so in essence, God will FORGIVE NOTHIG, without repentance, if others tell you different hey are fibbing or else jus do not understand the facts.

James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

So THEY DO ASK, but they asked AMISS to consume it upon their own lusts.

Or in real time speak........you ask and don't receive of God because you are asking with wrong motives, whereby you will be able to consume these pleasures for your own selfish purposes.

So, if I drink to get drunk, go to Church and "ASK God" to forgive me, He will not forgive me if in my own heart He knows that I am not even thinking about quitting, why should he? Now, if a truly TURN and in my heart I intend to never drink to get drunk again, God will the forgive me, and if a slip up, He will again forgive me, but only if in my heat I intend not to do it again. So, if someone is arrogant and prideful, they must TURN from that to get forgiveness.

Its not you nature per se, God created us perfectly, we gained Satan's Nature (DNA) by following his advice. We were created in Gods IMAGE not Satan's image, so Jess Sacrifice is a blood sacrifice to TRANSFORM us from our Satanic Nature to God's Nature, we do tat by turning unto God.

all of us are in exactly that boat

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

I think we inherent a sinful nature through Adam. Just as in the Old Testament, males had to be physically circumcised on the eighth day, our natural hearts still come with a hardened, prideful state that needs to be removed.

Deuteronomy 10:16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

The lord said to me one time "I Know is hard for you to go from the natural to the supernatural....". Can be hard to see as Paul said its no longer I that sin but sin that is in me. We all put on that new man which after God IS created in righteousness and true holiness. Yeah.. sin nature.

There are folks for whom dishonesty is a way of life, i.e. they were born that
way.

Ps 58:3 . .The wicked are estranged from the womb; these who speak lies
go astray from birth.

This is pretty serious because the Bible says that there is a marvelous city in
the works wherein dishonesty is not allowed.

Rev 22:15 . . Outside are . . . everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

I'm pretty sure that "outside" can be taken to imply exile because deceivers
are destined for termination by a mode of death akin to a foundry worker
falling into a kettle of molten iron.

Rev 21:8 . . All liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and
brimstone, which is the second death.

Forgiveness is possible for natural-born liars but a forgiven liar is still a liar,
viz: they can't help but continue to be dishonest and thus remain in grave
danger of termination.

"Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Neither can you
do good who are accustomed to doing evil." (Jer 13:23)

What is there to be done about that?

Thread Title ------Would God forgive if a sin was my nature?

We all know we are born sinners -----God the Father sent His only Son to Shed His Blood to cover all sin for all times for us all ------

There is NO REMISSION of Sin without the Shedding of Blood ------So if anyone NOW Refuses to receive Jesus in their heart ---they will not be forgiven of their sins -------Jesus is the way to Salvation which includes the remission of sins ------

You don't go to Hell now for the sins you commit -------You Go To Hell for Rejecting Jesus Christ -----and IF you Reject Jesus The Son ---Your also Rejecting The Father ---as the 2 are ONE -----and your hope of Heaven is gone ------

--Envy and Pride are 2 of the most evil sins ------and you are forgiven of these when you receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour -who shed His Blood to cover all sin for everyone -for all time --all sins are then forgiven--past --present and future ------

Hebrews 9:22 ESV
Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

Sin is no longer the issue ----receiving Christ is the issue Now --------
