Read Revelation 20:4-5 carefully. A group is resurrected before the millennial kingdom and a group is resurrected after the millennial kingdom. Both resurrections are referred to as the first resurrection so that means the first resurrection is split into two groups. That’s what the verses say so I don’t see how that’s a bad idea.

This interpretation, which i believe is actually accurate, doesn’t contradict any other verses or cause any issues as far as I can see.
If you keep reading you find the second resurrection. Which is the second death.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death

That is after the mil
After satan loosed
After the second great battle
And just before the gwtj

As a matter of fact the Lord Jesus Christ Himself taught it long before Darby or anyone else. And all the apostolic churches of the 1st century expected the Rapture in their time.
Paul in his day specifically said no one should be expecting to happen any time soon the glorious coming of Jesus in the clouds and our gathering together to Him - he said before all that could happen, there must first come a great "apostasia" within the church where false leaders and teachings would arise in the midst of God's people.

The rich man and lazarus?
Parable, as previously explained.

The martyrs under the throne?
A vision to John telling him it will be awhile before dead believers will be raised. What are disembodied spirits going to do with white robes?.

The 24 elders?
The Bible does not say they are people.

The thief continuing with Jesus to paradise.
The comma is in the wrong place.

Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee today, thou shalt be with me in paradise.

Both Jesus and the thief died that day. Three days and three nights later, the Father raised Jesus from the dead. The thief is still dead, awaiting resurrection. Also, Jesus was talking about the millennial kingdom (paradise), not the "good side of Hades". The kingdom is not here yet.

And who did Jesus preach to while his body was in the tomb?
....as well as their bodies being in graves?
Nobody. While Jesus was dead, he couldn't do anything. He was dead. He proclaimed his victory to the devil spirits imprisoned in Tartarus after he was resurrected by the Father.

Should a christian reject Christ? The Lord Jesus Christ said God is not the God of the dead but of the Living.
For the third or fourth time, the context of Jesus' statement was resurrection. He was addressing Sadducees, who did not believe in resurrection.

If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son.
He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.
And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
Wonderful verses! Christians have the guarantee of salvation, the guarantee of everlasting life. If a Christian dies before Jesus returns, he can be assured that God will not forget him. He will be daised from the dead with an immortal body, never to die again.

The spirit of antichrist denies the word's of Christ and the Truth that HE gives eternal life to those who belong to Him.
Yes. It's a shame.

Rich man and lazarus is not a parable
The rich man and Lazarus is a parable.

Is that how you envision "Abraham's bosom"? Lazarus was resting comfortably in the arms of Abraham listening to the screams of those in agony just across the gulf? ...not my idea of paradise.

I have never denied the words of Jesus Christ.

You're a false accuser, DavidTree. Do you know who else is a false accuser?

You see, David..... I try not to be, but I can be just as nasty as you are, inferring that people who do not agree with your understanding of the scriptures are antichrist.

Rich man and lazarus is not a parable
If the Rich Man and Lazarus is not a parable, then Jesus is a liar.

Jesus said the wicked would be gathered and cast bodily into hellfire "at the end of this world", not at death. But, in the passive, the Rich Man "son" has eyes, mouth, and a tongue and wants "father" Abraham to send a warning to his five brothers, which clearly indicates the end of this world is no where in sight. The only way Luke 16 makes sense is to understand that Jesus was telling an allegory in which things cannot and do not happen in real experience to make a point.

What was the point?

The Rich Man represented the children Jews who ate the children's bread that ought not be cast to dogs like the dog Syrophonecian woman wanting help for her demon possessed daughter, Lazarus represented the Gentile dog outsiders desiring to eat the crumbs that fall from the Master's table, and the tormenting flame represented the fate of the Jewish nation which was to come upon them if they failed to heed Jesus' numerous parabolic warnings -- which included the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus -- that if the Jews didn't get their act together, they'd end up on the outside looking in at the Gentiles on the inside, which is what eventually came to pass.

No, the second resurrection is not part of the first resurrection. Man created the chapters and verses and punctuation. The passage should be understood like this:

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.
This is the first resurrection: Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

"But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished" is the second resurrection that happens at the GWTJ when people come from hell and death etc.

This interpretation, which i believe is actually accurate, doesn’t contradict any other verses or cause any issues as far as I can see.
Those of first resurrection cannot be hurt by the second death. If you erase the second resurrection and make it part of the first resurrection then no one can die the second death. That's a contradiction.

Gill:

This is the first resurrection; which is not to be connected with the living again of the rest of the dead at the end of the thousand years, for that will be the second and last resurrection; but with the witnesses of Jesus, and the true worshippers of God living again, in order to reign with Christ a thousand years; for this resurrection is not meant of a resurrection from the death of sin to a life of grace; though the work of grace and conversion is sometimes so represented, it cannot be designed here; for such a resurrection the above witnesses and worshippers were partakers of before their sufferings, and which was antecedently necessary to their witness and worship

You need to understand that my understanding of the words of Christ differing from your understanding of the words of Christ does not automatically make you right and me wrong.

There is no rule that says a parable cannot use proper names.
Your heresy has been exposed for what it is = a lie because you deny His words.

Your whole argument is for one purpose to deny the words of the LORD and His Power over death.

"having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! "

I do not deny the power of God. Jesus Christ conquered death, and dead people will be raised from the dead.

You are a false accuser.

You're really quite the study in human nature, David. I know I haven't posted much here until recently, but I read here almost every day, and I've seen how you respond to people who do not agree with you. Your fake religious "sweetness" goes to hell in a handbasket and the people you disagree with become antichrist.

The way I understand the second resurrection, would be the resurrection of unbelievers at the GWTJ. The first resurrection, whether it be done in one phase or two phases, never at any point contains unbelievers. The only time unbelievers are resurrected is to have their judgement carried out and then off to their second death.
