Lived in Florida 25+ years. Why? My family started to move from Central Michigan to Central Florida a few at a time starting in the 80's. I was one of the last to leave. At that time the economy was horrible in Michigan but much better in Florida. Definitely hot and humid though. Opresive.
I think some people would rather be poor and temperate than rich and sweaty.

Or you could just make your fortune, save it up and then leave before it gets too hot.

The state's run better than most. The beaches are spectacular.

This fall is different than last fall when we first moved here. By this time last year we had two snow falls and maybe three. I miss the snow. If it's gonna be cold give me the white stuff...lol

We have had several days in the 60's this December so far and a terrible day with tornados. Our area was not hit but so many people lost their lives in KY and I believe they said 70 to 100 dead from a 4 state area that was hit. Happened over night when so many sleeping. Prayers please for the ones affected and the family's that lost loved ones.

Heard that it was really bad in US regarding tornados.
I was wondering do they not have adequate windbreaks or shelterbelts around homes cos they always seem to get tornados.

If people kept dying from tornados or wind related weather I would seriously petition the govt to implement a plan to protect those citizens with a state wide or nation wide planting trees plan to slow down the wind around towns.

I mean. in nz everyone tries their best to make homes earthquake proof and weather tight. It was found that many homes didnt have adequate insulation for the winter and people were dying of cold cos it cost too much to heat the homes.

we had problems with leaky homes being built to that didnt have proper roofs or eaves to drain the rain when it rained, so people lived in mouldy damp homes. And then got sick and died too.

I mean I do feel for families that undergo tragedy and pray for them but so many tragedies are needless and could be prevented...if people knew what to do. That is how we learn from them so they dont keep happening again.

We who are truly Christian and patriot avoid looking to the government for all our answers, we ARE the government here in the U.S.
Current ccp commie owned, democratic party led, administration is trying their best to destroy america economically and become all powerful.

Like how has it become not christian to care about others? and actually do things to make peoples lives better.

Or do you just let people fall off cliffs. Maybe nobody in govt is actually christian in america lol. Oh well be glad you dont live in that american wind tunnel then.

smh

so you must live off the grid, and not participate in any govt things, refuse social security, fudge your taxes, refuse to have a drivers licence, not ever use a library, not use paper money (its got presidents faces on it) not vote, and basically not even go out on the road because I think that would have been funded by govt. Oh and the land, probably given back in the day by the govt of the day. Never enjoy a national, park because oh you only ever set foot on PRIVATE land that you own yourself.

That is true, but we hire the government for domestic defense. If something can be engineered to minimize the losses from such a storm, it ought to be -- whether by governmental or private effort.

Um... Tornadoes are not that easy to stop. Trees don't cut it. In fact, tornadoes cut the trees down. If you plant more trees, that's just more missiles the tornado can pick up and throw at you.

I have never seen a tornado but have lived in states that tornados happen frequently. In Florida where I lived for years homes that are built have to be strengthen against the force of a Cat 2 hurricane, particularly in the roof.

It makes me sad to see anyone lose their home due to damage or fire or even lack of money to keep paying for it.

I believe that you truly care for your fellow citizens, especially those less fortunate than yourself, and are empathic.

I have my doubts when I see the boney finger pointing in place of a sharing of positive actions taken as an encouragement.
Therein lies the reality.

Having read a great deal of her posts through the years I do believe that she has a spot in her heart to give care and consideration to the least of her brothers and sisters. She does cut to the quick at times but perhaps that is a good thing in most instances. She definitely has a touch of class.

I hope your view is valid.
Having read the same over the years my doubts are based on the reasons given.
