New Jerusalem Kingdom Death Continues
The full establishment of the kingdom of God and the resurrection are linked since both occurred at the last trumpet (Revelation 11:15). If the "coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed," why would one expect the resurrection to be a visible phenomenon?
The resurrection is a heavenly event; not an earthly one with eternal, perfected earthly bodies; also makes sense of Isaiah 65. Isaiah describes the New Jerusalem. However, in verse 20 Isaiah indicates that in the New Jerusalem people still die: "Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his years; he who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere youth; he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed."16 The fact that people still die on earth during and after the resurrection at the end of the age again implies that eternal life is only reserved for heaven and it is here that the promised resurrection is expected to occur according to the Bible.
“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and
there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away.”
Revelation 21:2-4
the ot prophets didn’t fully understand as I’ve already quoted in my first post they didn’t have any concept of Christs reality yet
“Which
in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;”
Ephesians 3:5 KJV
But this should be very relevant to you consider whether Peter has it all wrong or you do
“Knowing this first,
that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?
for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were
from the beginning of the creation.
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water,
perished:
But
the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing,
that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
But
the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that
all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
2 Peter 3:3-13
that’s some of that New Testament prophecy I was telling you about
it seems nearing the end ot of Christian scoffers would come denying Christs return and the destruction of this world and ushering in of the new. Why was Peter at the end of his life still
Anticipating a last days denial of his return if he had already come ? Y does the New Testament promise he will come ?
“He which testifieth these things saith,
Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
Revelation 22:20 KJV
remember though soon or quickly to God could be thousands of years what we think of as soon isn’t the same as God who’s looking at the whole entire picture.
Jesus hasn’t yet returned because there’s still evil that’s ruling the earth when he returns righteousness is all that will exist on earth and people won’t die neither will the next world be like this one in other ways
There are two worlds one that is and will end other that will
Come with Christ
“Who shall not receive manifold more in
this present time, and
in the world to come life everlasting.”
Luke 18:30 KJV
“For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection
the world to come, whereof we speak.”
Hebrews 2:5 KJV
“And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him,
neither in this world, neither in the world to come.”
Matthew 12:32 KJV
“But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and
in the world to come eternal life.”
Mark 10:30
one world is reserved for judgement the other is eternal Kingdom of righteousness and life it’s based on his word of promise that we have to believe because we can’t see it we have to live by faith in his certain word
“So then
faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Romans 10:17 KJV
he’s coming back no one knows when could be tomorrow could be a Thousand years but he’s coming
