I grew up in the RCC and they taught the part of the apostles creed that says, “I believe in the holy catholic church..” means the RCC. I have no problem referring to “catholic” as “universal” but it’s not limited to the RC institution.
The sad thing is that some relate "Christian" exclusively to "Roman Catholic"
Yes. It bothers me when there is any mention of "the church" in the media, they are nearly always referring to the RCC.
No one can think their way or believe their way into heaven .

Greetings everyone, the OP of this thread was written in 2011, and the author of the OP hasn't posted here at CChat for 4 years, nor has she visited here for two years, so it's doubtful that you will be receiving a reply from her anytime soon, just FYI. As they say however, hope springs eternal.

denominations aren’t what defines us there’s just the one church which is every believer on earth no matter which pew they sit in
Denominations only show us how divided the church is. And create differences in doctrine to argue about.

as long as you know Jesus as your Lord and savior God bless you I have been to only one COC and they are different not allowing music to be played but that is their call.
That makes that denomination suspect. After all when John was invited to look into Heaven He saw......Harpers harping on their harps. Isn't that music?
Does the COC maintain that music while rejoicing of the Lord is wrong?
We must remember denominations are only there to give an individual a self made accolade and memorial for his opinion. Often That is NOT what the Bible says.
