No you are doing exactly the same thing as we did 25 years ago and we also had the audacity to say the same. It has always been the same. Some people get stuck in it and others, like me, move on because Jesus himself pointed out "But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father (Mark 13:32)."
Later the Lord said to His Body - `But you, brethren are NOT in darkness that this day should OVERTAKE you as a thief.` (1 Thess. 5: 4)

And come together all the more - `exhorting (encouraging and warning) one another, and so much THE MORE AS YOU SEE the Day approaching.` (Heb. 10: 25)

No prediction....signs of the times I refer.
You saying Russia is coming to get Israel, that is, in fact, by definition, a prediction. You have no way of actually knowing this, which means...drum roll...it is a prediction. A millennia could pass, every last Russian person could be dead and a totally new people group could take over the region and they are the people to attack Israel. This is an equally valid prediction because we don't know, we are not God so we can't know, this is what the bible tells us time and time again. If you can't see that, I am sorry but I am done and will pray that you don't waste the time I did trying to connect all the dots, because every generation has, many men wiser than either of us have tried and failed and to keep beating a dead horse is valueless. We should instead live our lives like Jesus could, and WILL, actually surprise us no matter how smart we think we are, because God told us He would.

Yup. Literally nothing about Russia.

Also what is considered "north" in the bible is not Russia or Canada. Its north [of Israel]
`Then you will come up from your place out of the FAR NORTH.` (Ez. 38: 15)

Heb. `Tsaphon,` meaning hidden and used ONLY of the north as a quarter.

The Federation from the `far north` says - `I will go up against a land of unwalled villages.......against a people gathered from the nations....` (Ez. 38: 11 & 12)

And since God tells us that it is the land of Israel that He will bring this Federation down to, then we know the time slot - ` a people gathered from the nations.` And that is NOW!

first ,that was not now that was 70+ years ago, we are almost a century removed from this event. There no way of knowing how long it will before the next part. The new testament itself is written with a sense of soon to the return of Jesus even then and that was almost 2 millennia ago. The truth is everything we know and understand is based of the stepping stones of the intelligence of those who came before and lessons learned by their success and failures, the problem is eschatology is one of the few areas that don't follow this code reality. Each generation say those who came before were wrong and that we are right, rather that realizing that if millions of intelligent people failed in prediction that there might actually be something to learn from that, instead we just say, 'we are more enlightened or smart or wise, that what we see happening around us is special.' There were highly intelligent people back in the 1950s who played connect the dots just as you are now and were equally convinced, for many of the same reasons, that they were right, despite being completely wrong. Obviously you are not in a place to accept this I just hope others reading this thread realize the futility of trying to unravel the puzzle that God could have, but didn't, make clear in scripture. God clearly had a reason for that and I can guarantee it wasn't to make someone feel smart by figuring it out.

This is my opinion on it as well. Russia is surrounded on all sides, I am shocked they have been this patient and long-suffering with the NATO bullies.

NATO defends "Western values" which are evil values more often than not with sodomy being the main "human right" concern. "Democracy" being another degenerating force
You are only right. We just have to think of the Cuban missile crisis when America rightly would not have Russian missiles placed near American borders. But NATO has crept right up to Russia's border with it's "defence" capabilities.

And Crimea and eastern Ukraine are Russian people, they WANT to belong to Russia.

Yes, but they want a Russia free from the unrelenting corruption.

Cossacks have a history of betrayal...but Russians have a history of chess match type dealings. Nothing is made simple and easy. Everyone mistrusts everyone.

So everyone is poor.

You must be a leftist.....I have no freedom to predict Russia/Iran against Israel?
Also, should I be permitted...LOL...China will cause a war over the south china sea lanes. Is that ok?
You make no sense.

Most wars are caused by powers not recognizing the theater of another power.

We Americans would not appreciate China or Russia placing wepons of mass destruction in countries in our theater of influence. How do you thing they feel when it happens to them. It is belicose.

Ummmm. They have staged all kinds of nuclear weapons in Ukraine, Slovakia Czech Republic, Georgia.

The rocket engines were made in the Ukraine. The nuclear power plants were fueled by uranium mined in Kazakhstan. Then enriched...

That's right on the border with all of Europe.

The prediction is not the issue, you can predict what ever you want, the point I have been trying to make throughout this thread is that playing connect the dots with current events and biblical end times statements is not useful or successful, many people smarter than both of us have tried and failed. Let us learn from their mistakes and spend out Christian life on more valuable things like learning, teaching, edification of other believers, service and growth. Eschatology is something people spend lifetimes on and each generation thinks they are the one that will figure it out.

The post is simple, the general scenario for what causes wars in the past few centuries. Perhhaps the explanation from our Book will make things more clear4.

"What causes wars amon you? You covet and you cannot obtain.." Pretty direct and simple.

I refuse to play with the Word and the predictions thereof simply because I am able to draw a circle and say it is infinite.

Someone just today said it better than I. We will know God's will and the outcome of the prophecies as theya re fulfilled.

Actually Buckle, I am writing what I learnt from those (back in the 1950`s) who passed it on to me later. They knew from God`s word what was to come, and to them it was a prediction, whereas for us we are seeing prophecy come to pass.

Those in the 1950`s saw Israel become a nation as prophesied.(1948) (Luke 21: 29 & 30)
Other nations became independent. (Luke 21; 29 & 30)
Then in 1967 people saw Ps. 83 come to pass.
In 1991 we saw the monolithic Soviet block, (big bear, Dan. 7: 5) become Russia and independent nations. (Ez. 38)
Also at that time with the Gulf war we have seen the rise of the war being waged by Moslem Fundamentalists against the West.(Dan. 7: 7)
Then in our time we have seen the European Union form with a single currency, and the philosophy of a `free market,` that is bringing hardship across the world. (Rev. 6: 5 & 6)
Now we are seeing the beginnings of the preparation of Russia to go to war against Israel. (Ez. 38 & 39)

And many more prophecies yet to be fulfilled.

I don't know about that smart part...course you know yourself....sufficiently to judge.

You want to say that I am guilty of trying to predict the 2nd advent of Christ....just say that.

Well show me?

In the seventies a huge group of Christians that thought it was the end quit thier jobs , sold their homes and moved into rvs in the desert .

about two years later after thier predictions failed they returned to life having no money , no jobs and living in a used rv.

it seems to happen a few times every generation we always think it’s close as the signs have become perpetual in nature could be tomorrow or a thousand years so we should follow the lord as closely as we can

It happens every so often. A radical fringe group by definition. Certainly not a true Christian....who knows there is no way to escape except with Jesus Christ.

sadly Christians can be led away from truth and begin to follow lies

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jim Jones comes to mind , a lot of good. Elieverd in that crowd but they were corrupted by a charismatic false teacher , jim Jones . Who knew the scripture well but used it to control the people rather than sending them to Christ and his teachings for salvation.

Over nine hundred people were dead including women and children later following that preacher who claimed to know the Bible so well the people no longer needed the Bible.

they all began as believers but we’re led astray by a false shepherd but we have Jesus and the gospel is available to all to believe and know his word

believers can be led astray by wrong doctrine to disbelieve the lord. And believe the wrong things like Adam and Eve

History is full of people who believe a personal prophecy and follow it to their doom.
Adoniram Judson is one...
The Children's Crusade...
The man who believed that God gave him the gift of tongues so he went to Egypt to preach even though he couldn't speak a word. He barely made it home alive.
Then there's those who suffer from Jerusalem Fever...wrap themselves in bed linens and preach when visiting Israel. (Happens so often they watch out for it)

Then there's those who shoot or blow up abortion clinics and doctors.
