If you click the Membership Information link you'll find that memberships range from between $350 and $650. Oh, and "Membership fees do not include fees for conferences or summits." Surely $350 or $650 is NOT THE SAME as: "SELL EVERYTHING And FOLLOW Jesus"???

Oh my... :D

You know, this actually may involve a little interpretation where fulfillment is concerned, because while it is prophesied that He will manifest Himself visibly to church councils in larger cities in the end-times, this dream could be saying He will fully manifest Himself through the church even before that. We are His body, and when we manifest more of His Fulness in the earth, it will be something like a hologram of His image in a way; a facsimile if you will of the Real thing, yet in spiritual form.

Just throwing it out there without having the time yet to really analyze it for more. But the True image of Christ in His character isn't quite as "attractive" as some people think either. When He comes (manifests), He brings judgment, and chastises, and disciplines, and He is not quite the lovey-dovey, all grace and forgiveness kind of guy many think He is. The Real Jesus executes judgments, and He will upturns table and cause all kinds of chaos when He shows up, no matter form.

Whatever the case, that's an excellent dream, and I read somewhere in scripture that it's true; there's a prophecy regarding the Messiah that "his visage was not comely" or something like that. I'd have to find it.
This was said of what many called the suffering servant.

Isaiah 53:2 For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. 3 He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face, He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.4 Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. 6 All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him. 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off out of the land of the living, For the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due? 9 His grave was assigned with wicked men, Yet He was with a rich man in His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.10 But the Lord was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand. 11 As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied;By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities.

Essentially anyone who says they heard from God, and were given a mandate to be an apostle, is one.
Looks like Resident Alien is an apostle to the false apostles. Just send them your invoice.

I'm slowly learning to be increasingly careful. Interpreting dreams is tricky, especially without discernment or word of knowledge. It can be like seeing through a glass VERY darkly, where you make out certain things but the big question is: Who are the subjects in this dream? Is it about this person or about that one?

I chalk it up to experience plus prayer. As someone posted, you grow into the gifts, and you have to learn from your mistakes, despite the erroneous notion that perfection somehow falls upon fallible human beings the minute they begin entering into the use of a gift.

Starting to grow concerned about this myself, quite frankly. There is also the problem of the enemy going after people who walk with you, and if those walking with you are not strong enough to endure what will come (most are not) the enemy turns them against you, or at the very least causes them to distance themselves from you, which can be painful.

Thanks for sharing. It's encouraging to know I am not the only one.
God's grace is always sufficient. All we need do is cling to Him like a frightened child. "Footsteps in the sand" is a well known story about being carried when things are difficult. My prophet friend said that he never wanted to see two sets of footprints. He depended on the Lord all the time!

And yes, I was criticised for standing with my friend. Christians should love truth, but a lot prefer to stick their fingers in their ears. And churches are packed with make believers. They are Christian in name only. But they give and help pay the bills so the status quo is maintained. The real church is much smaller. It's about 4% of those who attend regularly.

I ran across a video this morning (see below). It's about a YouTuber I'd never heard of, but his channel has over 300k subscribers. The videos plays quite of few clips of Troy Black admitting he gets it wrong; but apparently he still considers himself God's prophet.

What we have here is someone who has obviously been influenced by the false prophets who drafted the Prophetic Standards Statement (see link in my original post). In the first example in Caleb's video, Black says:

"And before I jump into this, I wanna say a quick disclaimer: I'm not jumping on here claiming to get everything right every single time and the reason is I'm still human and I am not perfect at hearing from God; and also, even when I hear very clearly and accurately I'm not perfect at sharing it and interpreting what I've heard; and that's just the nature of prophecy. The New Testament talks about how 'We see in part and we prophecy in part.' "

Really, getting it wrong is "just the nature of prophecy?" Maybe false prophecy.
Let's think about this.

All of God's prophets in the Bible, with the exception of Jesus, were human. Being human doesn't excuse making false prophecy. If someone actually hears from God their prophecy will be true, no doubts about it, even if they are human.

So, Black says sometimes he hears "very clearly and accurately" but his human frailty prevents him from imparting accurately what he very clearly and accurately heard! He must think people are pretty stupid.

Yes, we know in part and prophecy in part; but this verse isn't excusing false prophecy, it's simply saying that prophecy is incomplete until some future date when the "perfect" comes.

It's a very sad state of affairs that so many people follow this guy and apparently think he's actually a prophet of God.

People better be careful what they amen.

God's the one that calls prophets, and His prophets don't just hit and miss.

People who give out false prophecies need to be rebuked and marked as such. In hopes that they will repent. Also, to protect/shield others who may not have proper discernment.

Going out saying the Lord said something when he did not is a dangerous thing and not to be dismissed and taken lightly.

Most of what we mistake for prophecy isn't prophecy.
Prophecy exhorts and encourages.- about the 6th paragraph -
https://www.christcenteredmall.com/teachings/gifts/prophecy.htm

If we are truly Christian we read what we are guided to read, do what we are guided to do, the video posted indicates RA walks by his own erroneous sight, in the flesh, and not by Spirit.

Many may not know the name Wayne Grudem or his book The Gift of Prophecy in the New Testament and Today; or maybe you do. Apparently it's a popular book in charismatic circles.

Nope, never heard of it, never seen it. My pastor is an avid reader and recommends books to us all the time. We also have a packed library. This isn't in it. Never heard of him or the book. And the circles I've traveled in are far wider than anyone here has done.

No Dont have that book in the church library
We mostly have biographies/testimonies, books on christian living, childrens bible stories, books on prayer, missions, devotions, bible archeology, apolegtics

Nobody even reads the theological stuff, so I dont bother putting those books in the collection.

Also we have jigsaw puzzles, so when saw this thread just thought you were a puzzler too.

BUT the most alarming thing, IMO, are the fakirs who think they have a school wherein a person (after paying tuition of course) can learn to be a prophet

where are all these false prophets coming from? why do so many think they have some kind of prophetic gift and are encouraged to 'practice' it?

how about this?

90 DAYS ONlINE PROPHETIC TRAINING from CHRISTIAN INTERNATIONAL

I've never heard of these folks...I simply did a search for 'school of the prophets' and this came up...it's a 90 program wherein they will teach you how to be a prophet...and marvel of marvels, you don't even have to leave your home....I mean what with covid and all

apparently the Mormons also have a school of the prophets...probably in the flavor of Joseph Smith

and of course everyone's favorite classic school of the prophets: Bethel
AUGUST 8-12, 2022

yesiree. one week of intensive training and you are board certified. just remember to give God a heads up on this one though cause He sometimes overlooks these things

only $395.oo online or even physically present and oh boy oh boy! $ 750.oo for couples. what a savings...not quite a 2fer tho

and one more in case you think the above are exceptions or some kind of anomaly making the rounds these days

Learn More About Your Prophetic God-give Gifts

the language of the prophetic with the anointing intertwined.

with the anointing! like putting unleaded gas in your old car! whee who

yes...its' School for the Prophets Academy...an academy even.

The Lighthouse With Higher Dimensions of God's Holy Fire
You are one of God’s stars that brings light into the Earth.
It is time to recognize your calling.

how encouraging! you always thought you were a prophet and now these good folks will confirm that and you will just have to pay the nominal amount of.....$200.oo but if you also want the Spiritual Warfare and School of Deliverance, you can include that for just $208.oo and if you hurry up about it, they will give you a discount...discounted prophecy. who knew

and they even have half payments and payments for the children in your life. yes, your children will thank you for this one day by turning on you and wanting to know how come you thought someone could buy the Holy Spirit.

from what I can understand, these schools operate out of the idea certain scripture in the OT is their clear and encouraged, in fact duty, to raise up prophets who will create a new reality with their words and issue in the Kingdom of God. in fact, God cannot perform without their encouragement and many words of prophecy which will allow Him to 'manifest' whatever they say

The Old Testament mentions a school of prophets in 1 Samuel 19:18–24 and in 2 Kings 2 and 4:38–44 (some translations say “company of prophets” or “sons of the prophets”).

The “group of prophets” in 1 Samuel 19 was clearly comprised of students of the prophet Samuel. These students were likely Levites who served in roles related to the tabernacle and ceremonial worship. The content of their “prophesies” is not specified. Their messages could have been general teachings from God’s laws in the Books of Moses, or they could have included additional revelation.

These groups of men were likely leaders among those 7,000 Israelites who had not bowed down to Baal, as God had told Elijah (1 Kings 19:18). There were at least three schools or communities of these prophets and possibly more, consisting of men who were devoted to God and served Him. They followed the teachings of Samuel, Elijah, and Elisha during the time of the prophets and were known as their “students. source

1Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2“Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Tell those who prophesy out of their own imagination: Hear the word of the LORD! 3This is what the Lord GOD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, yet have seen nothing. 4Your prophets, O Israel, are like foxes among the ruins. 5You did not go up to the gaps or restore the wall around the house of Israel so that it would stand in the battle on the Day of the LORD.

6They see false visions and speak lying divinations. They claim, ‘Thus declares the LORD,’ when the LORD did not send them; yet they wait for the fulfillment of their message.

7Haven’t you seen a false vision and spoken a lying divination when you proclaim, ‘Thus declares the LORD,’ even though I have not spoken?

8Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you have uttered vain words and seen false visions, I am against you, declares the Lord GOD.

17Now, O son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people who prophesy out of their own imagination. Prophesy against them 18and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: Woe to the women who sew magic charms on their wrists and make veils for the heads of people of every height, in order to ensnare their souls. Will you ensnare the souls of My people but preserve your own? 19You have profaned Me among My people for handfuls of barley and scraps of bread. By lying to My people who would listen, you have killed those who should not have died and spared those who should not have lived.

Ezekiel 13

apparently God does not care for those who put words in His mouth.

read the entire chapter for a better understanding of how God responds to the liars who say 'God told me to tell you' when He never said a thing

What circles have you traveled? In other words, what have they entailed?

I have traveled for over 20 yrs in Canada and the US in all denominations. Among them are AofG/PAOC, also independent/ charismatic Pentecostal. There are others outside Pentecost churches that believe in speaking in tongues. Many lump all Pentecostal churches together which isn't fair. I've been in hundreds of churches, know many pastors, have family that are pastors in the PAOC.
