“Sir,” I answered, “you know.” So he replied, “These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Revelation 7:14

the blood of Christ cleanses us from all sin
This is actually interesting ...to wash your robe is to form your image to the Lamb. Thanks for pointing this Scripture out, seriously.

I pray you are not among those mentioned in Matthew 7:22-24
It's sad seeing your responses when you stand on the other side of the veil. That Scripture is obviously about you, unless you change your ways.

What really surprises me somewhat (but really not that much as I've witnessed it firsthand for years)- but the amount of vitriol and hatred and shots fired in every thread here. Anyone that disagrees is targeted, lied about, their words twisted and used against them if nothing overt can be found to slay them over. One of the worst offenders got offended when I quoted the old saying "Christians are the only army that shoots their wounded." Yet he was (is) one of the worst.

If we disagree, then make the case once, even argue without malice- the logic definition of an argument is any statement that can be proven true or false. So prove your case. They can accept it or not, but let it go, people! The constant rehashing of ad hominem attacks gets old and is distracting. And if a non-believer does come here they will get a very skewed idea of Christianity. And some of you need to loose the increase font function. 'Shouting' detracts instead of enhancing.

I give those Bibles out knowing if they are used to make a convert and admitted into fellowship in some of the churches there will be things they learn I do not agree with. WHO CARES!? The issue is salvation. Not minor doctrine. I cannot reach everyone, and honestly I'm not the greatest evangelist in town. But I can help others reach the lost and hurting. Those I help come together, putting differences aside, and work to reach out to a lost world. Sadly too many will not do that.

At the AoG church where I was attending we gave a class. I set aside my own convictions, never injecting them into the class because there was one young man in it. I would not go against what I knew his parents believed, and when even a young adult is entrusted to one's care that is a responsibility I take seriously. I put over 2000 dollars into giving that class and a lot of time because I believed in the things it taught. (It was the real Men's Ministry by Pastor Ed Cole). But some of the men who had put nothing into it decided I shouldn't be there and I was removed. Oddly enough they were not believers in the Assemblies doctrine either (that church had a healing ministry and so had more from other denominations than actual AoG's). They however had no problems teaching against AoG doctrine. An example, whenever the issue of tongues came up, I recused myself since I do not believe in it. But it is their doctrine, and I knew that when I walked through the door. These men had no qualms speaking about it. But I was targeted, and they prevailed.

I suppose I should thank them though. Because of them I distanced myself from that church and started looking. I've found many people from across the spectrum who, like me are seeing some problems with the mainstream catholic (universal, not the RC church specifically) teachings. Our discussions get lively and can last for hours, but everyone is respectful of the others. To be fair I did run into some that are a bit disturbing (ever hear of the Sacred Names movement?). I ran from them. I also found some who reject the eternal deity of the Christ. I politely told them I could not fellowship with them based on that issue. They politely agreed.

But the mainstream of Christianity seems determined to fight each other more than the enemy. Go figure.
I hear you

this forum used to be friendlier. from time to time I seriously consider leaving...I've done that and come back

the moderation here is not heavy handed as in some forums so people that would not last a day in other places, continue on and think they are right because they are not removed. one forum I belonged to, had a moderator that would pick on people until they left or answered back and got banned

many comments certain people make will not see the light of day in a church where they might have to be responsible for the words they fling at others. I am not a member of a denom like the AOG or a Charismatic church although I do believe in the gifts but I do not believe in tongues being the feature in every service...although I believe that to be a valid gift, the misuse of that gift is rampant with little to no discernment in its useage

I think we have had a couple of sacred name people here way back. also Hebrew Roots and a few others

you will find people on here who reject the deity of Christ...you will Mormons, JW's, Seventh Days and others

welcome to the forums ;):)

I am not the one claiming to live a live of sinless perfection as you seem to be.
My salvation is in Christ Jesus, not in my works.

John 15:4-6

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

All true believers will try to get sin out of their life.
Much can be accomplished with prayer and study of the Word.
But to believe we can live a sinless life is calling God a liar
And to trust in that sinless living for salvation is the road to hell.

This is a fact. Pittsburghjoe is simply messing up this thread with all his bizarre comments. I guess that's the price for keeping free speech free. You should not respond to him.

The worldly and sinful life doesn't get to continue if you want to be a Child of GOD:

Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Just want Folks to know there is Righteous Judgment ------

So what is Righteous judgment ?????

Jesus actually shows 2 things here ----Righteous Anger ---Righteous Judgment ----

Jesus at the Temple
12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’[e] but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’[f]”

Righteous Judgment will bring you to the right end without sin ----and so will Righteous Anger ------

You think you can to do the same sin over and over again:

Galatians 6:7–8
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

How is telling people to be Covered in His Blood (ie stop sinning) ...Judgment?
insisting people don’t believe insisting they aren’t saved insisting thier sinning when you most likely have never met them or know how they live thier life . those types of things throughout this thread is passing judgements you have no place making

Yes, evil me, telling people to stop sinning. You all have defenses trying to protect your sin.
again joe what sin ? Your like a blind man yelling out directions ? How have I sinned ? What sin are you witnessing against myself or anyone else here ?

What good is being a Christian if you don't try to use His Blood? it's called being lukewarm ...they don't make it past Judgment Day. There isn't a mystery around who GOD Elects. You either attempt to stop sinning before you physically die ...or you don't.

you mean the blood that promises remission of sins ?????

use his blood ? Try believing his word first and then The blood has the power To cleanse unrighteousness
but the good part of being a Christian brother is that if we do this we can trust his promise

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If a person doesn’t believe that it’s going to be hard to ever know Jesus

preach the same gospel Jesus did of you want to help sinners he’s the one who can lead them home

“I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

his teachings teach us to do right in Gods sight they don’t teach us what not to do they teach us what the right way to go is which produces repentance and obedience to the gospel we heard and believe the reason that’s important is that’s the word by which our salvation depends upon

Share the truth but if your a man of God consider repenting of the approach of a steel pipe over the head of sinners that won’t help them repent , love and a good example may though

“And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves;

if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:24-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We have to preach the truth of the gospel “ Repentance “ is definately a foundational block. Sin is of the devil agreed but Christ is greater and able to make us overcome if we stick with his word and love people

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

to a point I agree

it's interesting what the truth brings out of the woodwork

started with someone wanting to discuss salvation and we end up with a person who thinks everyone in here is going to hell but himself

Yeah, no one ever considers "using His Blood". Yes, Repentance is how ...but these double minded people are not doing it. You can't ask for forgiveness and then keep doing the same sin. it displays you didn't mean it.
