"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
The earth was without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Then God said, "Let there be LIGHT"; and there was light."

In the first two verses are the Father and the Spirit, and right after that in verse 3, there's Jesus as the Word and the Light. "In the beginning was the Word," this Word was LIGHT, God's shekinah glory. In the creation week, God spoke all kinds of things into being - let there be this, let there be that. But what was the first spoken word? "Let there be LIGHT!" The Word didn't become flesh at the beginning, but the Word itself was there at the beginning. Jesus taught His followers to be light of the world in other gospels, but in the gospel of John, Jesus Himself is identified as this Light -

1:9 "That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world."
3:19 "...that the light has come into the world ..."
8:12, 9:5 "I am the light of the world."
12:46 "I have come as a light into the world ..."

Jesus, as the Light of the world, was fittingly conceived by the Holy Spirit on Hanukkah, the Feast of LIGHT, see my research on that for more details in the link below. This Light doesn't come from the sun, the moon or any stars, they were all created on Day 4, neither of them was there on Day 1. The only source of this radiant Light is God Himself as the creator. Amazingly, this is actually confirmed in Rev. 21:23:

"The city had no need of sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illumiated it. The Lamb is its light."

In the Greek mind, this Word, logos, is the divine order and logic of the universe. When you listen to a sermon or read an article on John 1, that's most common angle, and of course there's nothing wrong about it. However, if you let the Bible interpret itself, this Word is truly alluding to the beginning of creation - with all three persons of the Holy Trinity, in the first three verses of the entire book!

I like it. :)

By the way, did you know that this was edited by a moderator? At the bottom right corner, it stated that it was edited by a moderator "34 minutes ago." I've never seen that before.

That's a link to an early article I wrote about the real birthday of Jesus - conceived on Hanukkah, born on Tabernacles, 41 weeks gestation, perfectly fitting the message in John 1:14 - "the Word (Light) became flesh and dwelt (Tabernacled) among us."

With respect, I must disagree with you, on the basis of John 1:3 (in context):

"All things were made through him [Jesus], and without him [Jesus] was not any thing made that was made." (ESV)

In other words, God made everything through Jesus, and since God made the heavens and the earth in Genesis 1:1, Jesus must have existed at that time, which is prior to Genesis 1:3.

From Genesis 1:1 to 1:5 are all in the first day. Just because it's in 1:3 doesn't mean it took place after 1:1. Besides, the creation week in Genesis is not narrated in strictly chronological order. In Gen. 2 God rested on the 7th day, then it goes back to the sixth day where Adam was created with more details.

Also, in the original Hebrew text of Gen. 1:1, there's a word "את" - Aleph Tav. Aleph and Tav and the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet, and according to some theory, aleph symbolizes God, tav symbolizes cross. In Revelation 1, Jesus declared Himself as the alpha and omega, in Hebew that would be Aleph and Tav, so there you have it, indeed Jesus is in Gen. 1:1.

Beautiful! I love your colorful artwork, Ma"g"enta. :D

Isn't it funny how the Lord gives us daily examples of living in the light? Each day we are shown literal darkness, and how we are to wake up and experience His Holy Light. Each day all people are being given the example of how important Light is. Without it, there would be no life. There would be no fruits or vegetables. Each day we are shown that darkness leads to death.

Romans 13:13 NLT - "Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don't participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy."

I have since lost this book, but the "Book of Adam and Eve" (extra-Biblical writing) talks about how after Adam and Eve sinned, this was the moment that darkness struck the earth. Adam and Even couldn't believe it! They longed to have the sun come back and stay . . . they were terribly afraid of the darkness. Their minds had only known Light, but after Satan had convinced them to disobey, this is when the Curse of the Lord bestruck not only the world, but specifically, the minds of Adam and Eve. They grieved over what they had done. They were kicked out of the Garden and lived in a cave for protection.

Literally, nighttime hours are a direct reflection of the Curse of the Lord. Not only this, but sleeping at night is also a reflection of the Curse. We are shown each time that we sleep that we must wake up. Each day we are given an example of the necessity of rebirth . . . simply through the process of waking out of darkness and into the light. Each day we are shown what it is to be in "slumber," a dream state, and how we've got to wake up to reality. It simply boggles my mind how the Lord has set in place all of these reminders of His remarkable Truth . . . His remarkable ways and what they mean.

The definition of a "day" in biblical context is actually based on Genesis 1:1-5. In that definition, one calendar day starts from 6:00 pm at sunset, then "day" starts from 6:00 am at sunrise, and there're twelve hours a day in total from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. When you read the expression of "40 days and 40 nights" or "at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice," it's all based on this system. So there must be darkness first, then light appeared and pierced through the darkness. That doesn't imply that Jesus as the light was a created being, God IS light in the very beginning. It just shows that the light was manifested at the middle of the first calendar day in creation, it began to shine upon the earth.

Again, I disagree.

Genesis 1:1-3 NIV
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

v. 3 NASB Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

English translations are split fairly evenly on the first word of verse 3; whether it is is "And" or "Then". Given that, I think it appropriate to conclude that there is a sequence strongly implied if not actually stated, putting verse 3 chronologically after verse 1. This makes your position untenable.

Actually I explained that light MUST’ve come later as it broke from the darkness, see my post above. Nonetheless, it was there in the beginning. That was the first 12-hour “day” right after the first 12-hour “night”.

The BIG THREE have always been the ELOHIM from the Beginning.

Therefore let it be known to all men this Commandment:

ELOHIM said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”

ELOHIM also told Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the Elohim of your fathers—
Elohim of Abraham,
Elohim of Isaac,
Elohim of Jacob
—has sent me to you.’

This is My Name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation. - Exodus ch3

Hey David,

Do you feel that there is a correlation between Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? Why only Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? I've always wondered of the connection.

Love you my Brother - How are you these days - in the Spirit and Health - Yes?

Genesis is the Foundation for ALL we are to believe = Nothing contradicts Genesis in the entire Theme/Truth of the Scriptures.

The LORD chose Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to be the Picture for us to see the Father Son & Holy Spirit.

From these Three came forth the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

When we are Born-Again we are Born into the Twelve Tribes of Israel = the Israel of Elohim = Jew & Gentile of whom all the Father shall call.

Blessing to You my Brother

I appreciate these words more than you could understand. Coming from you, they are extremely meaningful.

My heart remains broken, the Spirit the Lord gave me is 100% strong, and my body seems to be just good. Not great, but good. My last PSA count was "low/normal" . . . how about that! So, even though the doctors wanted me to endure another bloody biopsy, they agreed that it wasn't necessary and could wait another year at minimum. As long as that PSA count remains low/normal, I don't see a need for them to collect more $$ through another biopsy procedure.

One day at a time . . . just one day at a time, sir.

Correct = We are given 1st -Elohim , 2nd Spirit , 3rd Said/Spoken/Word

So from Genesis 1:1 we see Father Spirit Son = THEY do not have to be in chronological Order since THEY are ECHAD.

However, Elohim established the WILL of Elohim in chronological Order as it pertains to us thru Abraham, Isaac, Jacob

Abraham, Isaac & Jacob IS the GOSPEL

“Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
