John8:36 plus Romans 8:2
:)

your picutures are nice. i was thinking about this picture and how difficult it can be to overcome all sins in life and i noticed the angel in the picture.

angels are strong and/or messengers from God. this one being female, but still an Angel, so maybe just, you know - angel-like, so very spiritual Being. how we should be thinking like - to over come sin maybe.

"for we wrestle not against flesh and blood ..." if we become strong like an Angel (like in this picture) i think one might have a chance.

the tree of knowledge is sin slavery (Egypt) ...do you think CHRIST'S Cross might be involved with it?

Where or how did you come up with this idea of some tree of knowledge?

It is not Biblical. Nor is it Biblical to say this tree in the garden of Eden is or was a city,
was the tree Jesus was crucified on which we must also get on, or was inherently evil.
The Passover Lamb!!!

Because few read the thread (there was more than this involved):

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ezekiel+31&version=KJV

Egypt is a tree in The Garden... Still think the trees of The Garden are two actual wooden trees?

8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chestnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty. 9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

Hmmm, this is weird ...Egypt is a tree ...in the midst thereof:

Isa 19:3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

Egypt was the tree of knowledge of good and evil ...get it? He let His people go from it.

Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

He let His People free from slavery! It was foreshadowing of JESUS Freeing us from sin slavery!

“Hmmm, this is weird ...Egypt is a tree ...in the midst thereof:”

the garden of Eden is in the beginning well before the nations were divided and spread into the earth. What you are seeing are figures set forth that overlap in prophecy to make points leading up to the revelation of the New Testament.

you are taking prophetic figures and applying them Literally , and taking the literal and applying it as figure. You need to learn about Eden and what happened with the serpent first and then look at the prophecy understanding it’s witnessing the New Testament revelations of Satan.

The serpent in Eden , the spirit that was in Pharaoh when Egypt rose up over the nations , the spirit in the kings of daniels beasts who trod down upon Israel , the spirit that entered Judas when he betrayed Christ , the spirit that lead the angels astray and warred agains Gods angels in heaven and we’re cast out into the earth , the same spirit that overtakes men even now to work his Will on earth and the spirit that will be in johns anti christ , who’s spirit has already been in the world since Eden

Egypt didn’t exist in the beginning the nations were created after the Tower of Babel after man was cast out of Eden , after the floods many years later Egypt had risen up in his wicked spirit who has always been working in man to destroy Gods creation.

prophecy isn’t the literal part it’s apocalypse to understand the things beforehand and after In Figure and imagery.

several prophecies use the cedar trees and other trees like olive trees , to represent people and events referencing Eden even.

John 1:29
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Jesus was crucified so that you can be crucified with Him dying to your affections and lusts! You know ...intentions from the wicked tree?

Gal 5:24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

does bearing false witness counts as 'greater things' ??

...

Greater Things and the Same Things: Jesus died for the Sins of the World. We must die to all the Sins of Our Own World (Self). Jesus rebuked the Religious leaders of His day who were Preventing Others from finding The Kingdom, He forgave those truly repentant (saw their hearts/knew their hearts), but was against every wrong or unjust way of living or thinking, I.E. he knew from Spirt everything about people.

Most of you know that being literal gives you a bush to hide behind. Understand that you still get Judged at the end. The lusts you refused to give up will bite you because you used the wicked tree of intentions to do it.

Gal 5:24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

We use CHRIST on The Cross as a ladder (Jacob's) to reach for spiritual fruit. If you use CHRIST to reach for wicked fruit, you chose death.

...you use CHRIST'S Name to sin ...guess what is going to happen?

Ask yourself who fights to remain a slave to sin?
hmm good question --

maybe the guy who refuses to confess his sin, and repent?

who instead points the finger slanderously at every one of his neighbors?

((just a guess))

You didn't Overcome or Crucify anything!!!

Gal 5:24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

//So your perversion of GOD'S Grace is using CHRIST'S Name to sin!!!

Jde 1:4
...who pervert the grace of our God...

2 Timothy 2:19
...Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

i have many preachers preach many sermons on how they are doing 'greater works' than Christ.
i don't think i've heard anyone get it right, yet.

i don't think i quite understand it yet either -- but i am led to how that our Lord told Thomas, when he confessed the deity of Christ, that he has seen & truly believed; but blessed are those who have not seen, yet believe.

Jesus said we would do the same works, and greater. He also says that the work of God is to believe in the Son.

if our faith and the Spirit in us that confesses Jesus is LORD is the work of God, what do you think, isn't it a greater work in those who have not seen than in those who have?

i think a person who does not need a sign, or a miraculous wonder in order to believe probably has a greater faith than the one who believes because he sees signs, or witnesses wonders.

The key is in the word work. The bit where Jesus said “they will do greater works” than Himself uses a word that means tasks, work, employment, actions. Such as in John 14:12.

The miraculous works Jesus did were “mighty works” such as in Matthew 13:58.

So imho the English translations don't seem to take into account that the works Jesus mentioned in John 14:12 was not a reference to miracles since a different word was intentionally used.

Basically Jesus said it’s possible to be better at feeding the hungry, helping the sick, helping the poor, helping widows, etc than He did and that’s true. Many of the wealthy charities do more work than Jesus did during His short ministry on Earth.

It’s not possible to do greater miracles than Jesus because Jesus is God.

Lot is called righteous, but Lot is full of sin
The Word calls Lot righteous, yet you oppose the witness of the Word and call him a sinner:

1 John 5:9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

“The Word calls Lot righteous,”

the word calls Christians righteous also and people call them lost sinners who think thier own self righteous a lot in the world even today , even in this thread

but righteousness is called of God into being

good point!

-- and to what i was saying too; that's the same word for work here:

Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.
(John 6:28-29)
