op: LOOKING For The LORD JESUS CHRIST?
Yes, enjoyed All These, From HIS Word Of Truth, today!:

Looking, Watching, Waiting For our Blessed Hope, The HOLY ONE:

”...The Coming Of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, and our
gathering together Unto HIM…“ (2 Thessalonians 2:1)

"For I reckon that The Sufferings of this present time are not
worthy to be compared with The Glory which shall be revealed
in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for
the manifestation of the sons of God...

...ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of The Spirit, even
we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for The Adoption,
to wit, The Redemption Of our body!" (Romans 8:18-19, 23)

"But if we hope for That we see not, then do
we with patience wait for It." (Romans 8:25)

"So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for The
Coming of our LORD JESUS CHRIST!" (1 Corinthians 1:7)

"...And take the helmet of salvation, and The SWORD of The Spirit,
Which Is The WORD of God: praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all
perseverance and supplication for all saints…" (Ephesians 6:12-18)

"For our conversation [citizenship] is in Heaven; from whence also we
look for The Saviour, The LORD JESUS CHRIST!" (Philippians 3:20)

"...ye also have A Master in Heaven. Continue in prayer, and
watch in the same with thanksgiving; withal praying also for
us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak
The Mystery Of CHRIST…" (Colossians 4:1-3)

“And to wait for His SON from Heaven, Whom He Raised from the
dead, even JESUS, Which Delivered us from the wrath to come!"

(1 Thessalonians 1:10)

“Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are
not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as
do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep, sleep
in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate
of faith and love; and for a helmet, The Hope of Salvation. For God
Hath not Appointed us to wrath, but to obtain Salvation By our
LORD JESUS CHRIST, Who Died for us, that, whether we wake or
sleep, we Should Live Together With HIM! Wherefore comfort
yourselves together and edify one another, even as also ye do.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:5-11)

“LOOKING for That Blessed Hope, and The Glorious Appearing
of THE Great God and our Saviour JESUS CHRIST!” ( Titus 2:13)

Amen?

GRACE And Peace...
NONE of those passages are addressed to us. They pertain to those of that day--the writers' day. THEY were waiting for the coming of the Lord and that waiting was realized in their lifetime. Please consider the audience relevance of those passages you posted and the context of the expectations and promises.

You are looking for the Lord SOON? Those of Jesus' and the Apostles' day looked Him SOON. Are you now going to wait nearly 2 thousand years for that to happen? Apparently that is what SOON means.

By the way I am a pre-trib believer and I am looking for the Lord soon. I am as you said not looking for the antichrist and the tribulation but Jesus. Come Lord Come

Rev 3:10 Because you have kept my word of patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial which is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell upon the earth.
Revelation 3:10 is NOT addressed to us. It pertained to those of the church of Philadelphia. THEY were going to be kept "from the hour of trial" that was "coiming on the whole world." He said, "I am coming SOON." And He did--to THEM.

By Hal Lindsey

The American republic was built on the “self-evident” truth “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.” Take the words “created” and “Creator” from that sentence, and it becomes nonsense.

It is nonsense to say, “all men are equal.” We are not born with equal levels of intelligence, athletic ability, or good looks. We are born to different kinds of parents and into different circumstances including various levels of wealth or poverty. But add the word “created” and it makes sense. We are created with equal value before God—each one made with His image stamped into our very being (Genesis 1:26).

Our nation’s founders were steeped in these beliefs. That’s why they wrote a constitution which protects even the vilest criminal from “cruel and unusual punishment.” In our system, searches and seizures are to be sanctioned by a court of law after careful assessment of “probable cause.” The Constitution insists that the accused receive a public trial before an impartial jury. All human beings are due this kind of respect because each carries innate value before God.

It’s all built on the words “created” and “Creator.” Our country was founded on a theological idea. We have a Creator. We have standing in the universe. Remove God from our country, and you remove the intellectual and spiritual underpinnings of democracy itself.

The new atheism sweeping our land is intent on removing God’s name and His standards from our institutions, philosophies, and entertainments. Those who propagate such notions do so in the name of freedom. But real freedom requires a foundation. To remove freedom’s foundation means the eventual destruction of freedom itself.

And that’s what’s happening. The super-elites have lost trust in the common folk, and therefore in democracy itself. They have always tried to put their thumb on democracy’s scale. But in the past, they focused their power and influence on promoting their own ideas. Today they increasingly use their power to crush dissent and end debate.

“We the people” still have our ballots, but ballots mean little without the free flow of information. In our system of government, free speech is not a luxury but an absolute necessity. Democracy only works when people are trusted to sort through the noise and find the truth.

It’s a messy form of government. No doubt about that. In a perfect world, the people would be governed by a perfect Person — perfect in love, perfect in wisdom, perfect in justice, and perfect in every other way. That Person, Jesus, is coming! The Bible says, “The government will be upon His shoulder.”

But until that glad day, we should be thankful for what Lincoln called “government of the people, by the people, for the people.” And we should work and pray that it “not perish from the earth.

Hal Lindsey is a believer but a false teacher. He has been misleading other Christians for decades.

Consider what I've posted in the past:

[quoting old post]

I've posted this before about the "days" (and/or "day") issues (the ones that are not "singular 24-hr days"):

Hosea 5:14-6:3 [re: Israel] -

14 For I am like a lion to Ephraim

and like a young lion to the house of Judah.

I, even I, will tear them to pieces

and then go away
.

I will carry them off

where no one can rescue them.

15 Then I will return to My place

until they admit their guilt and seek My face;

in their affliction

they will earnestly [or, early] seek Me.”

6:1 Come, let us [Israel] return to the LORD.

For He has torn us [Israel] to pieces,

but He will heal us [Israel];

He has wounded us [Israel],

but He will bind up our [Israel's] wounds.

2 After two days He will revive [H2421] us [Israel]; [see H2421 in Ezekiel 37 also, vv.3,5,6,9,10,14]

on/in the third day He will raise [H6965] us [Israel] up, [see H6965 in Isaiah 26 also, v.19]

that we [Israel] may live [H2421 (ditto the above note)] in His presence.

3 So let us [Israel] know—

let us [Israel] press on to know the LORD.

As surely as the sun rises,

He will appear;

He will come to us [Israel] like the rain,

like the spring showers that water the earth [/as the latter rain unto the earth].

[then... quoting Gaebelein's Commentary on Hosea 5]

"And like the lion after his attack withdraws to his den, so the Lord would withdraw from them, leave them and return to His place, waiting till their repentance comes and they seek Him early in their affliction.

"The last verse of this chapter has a wider meaning than the past judgment which came upon the house of Israel. The Lord of glory came to earth and visited His people. He came with the message and offer of the kingdom to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. He came unto His own, but His own received Him not. After they had rejected Him, delivered Him into the hands of the Gentiles to be crucified, He returned to His place. There He is now at the right hand of God, waiting for that day, when the remnant of Israel will repent and seek His face Acts 3:19-26. [I mentioned Acts 3:21's reference to FUTURE events (i.e. the "UNTIL") in my Post #71 of this thread (note: different thread)]. That will be in their coming great affliction, in the time of Jacob’s trouble.

"Hosea 6:1-3. The division of the chapter at this point is unfortunate. The three verses of chapter 6 must not be detached from the previous chapter. Here we have the future repentance of the remnant of Israel, that is during the great tribulation. Believingly they will acknowledge His righteous judgment and express their faith and hope in His mercy and the promised blessings and restoration. They express what their great prophet Moses so beautifully stated in His prophetic song, that great vision given to him, ere he went to the mountain to die. “See now that I, even I, am He and there is no god with Me; I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; neither is there any that can deliver out of My hand” Deuteronomy 32:39. “After two days will He revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight (literally, before His face).” They have been dead spiritually and nationally, but when the two days of their blindness and dispersion are over, there is coming for them the third day of life and [what is *LIKENED UNTO a] resurrection."

What does any of that have to do with the NT's CLEAR timing of events fully expressed in the words SOON, AT HAND, ABOUT TO, SHORTLY, NEAR, etc.? The Bible could not be more clear that Jesus and His apostles taught that He would return to THEM (SOON), in THEIR lifetime.

Gog, Magog, and Ukraine
By Hal Lindsey

In a recent column entitled, “Rumors of War,” I explained why the Russian-led invasion of Israel detailed in Ezekiel 38 and 39 will include Ukraine. These passages give the leader of this coalition the symbolic name, “Gog.” Could Putin be Gog? He sure could. Is he? We simply don’t know.
Some believe that he is, and that the choice to go into Ukraine was not really his at all. They say God is “compelling” him. Ezekiel 38:4 speaks of God putting hooks in Gog’s jaws to draw him into a war against Israel. But Ukraine is not Israel. God did not put hooks in Putin’s jaws, forcing him to attack Ukraine.
Still, the prophetic significance of Russia’s move into Ukraine cannot be denied. And it does not end with the fact that Ukraine will join Russia as a part of the Ezekiel 38 coalition. The war is also impelling Europe to arm itself. In recent years, at the urging of the United States, Europe’s NATO nations made token increases in their defense budgets. But they clearly preferred for US taxpayers to shoulder the cost of their defense.
Putin changed that. Today, Europe is looking to arm itself. Previously neutral countries are suddenly hoping to join NATO. During the Cold War, Finland and Sweden were famously nonaligned. Soviet atrocities were not enough to get them to stand with other western nations against the Soviet Union. But now, they see Putin as willing to attack any nonaligned, nonnuclear power. By joining NATO, they would instantly put themselves under the protection of American, French, and British nukes.
Putin’s action in Ukraine also puts pressure on the European Union to arm itself. The EU has always been an economic and political entity. For years, several key leaders have wanted to also make it a military power. Now, with Putin’s help, that idea has new momentum. A central command and control over all the armies of Europe would, in an instant, make the EU a global military power. The Bible says that such power will one day be handed over to Antichrist.
Despite “green new deal” politics, the real world still depends on fossil fuel. That fact looms large over Putin’s war. In recent years, we learned that Israel has an abundance of natural gas. The Israel-to-Europe gas pipeline is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. At that point, Israel becomes a major threat to Russia’s natural gas monopoly in Europe. That gives “Gog” a major incentive to one day attack Israel.
Bible prophecy also speaks of economic instability (especially inflation) and a general atmosphere of chaos and fear in the last days. Those things were already happening, but they have been made dramatically worse by Putin’s war.
We need to have compassion on those who are suffering. And we need to know that this war will almost certainly have a negative impact on the rest of us. But we also need to trust God with our lives. When we escape the fear that threatens to engulf us, it will give us space to see with awe the God who told us about these things thousands of years in advance. He told us about technology that would not be invented or even imagined until our generation. He told us about national alliances before the nations involved had even been founded.

And He told us that in all these things, to rest in Him (Psalm 37:7).

By Hal Lindsey...

On the list of end-time events, nothing has to happen before Jesus snatches His people from the face of the earth. That means the rapture could happen many years from now, or any second now. The Bible calls it our “blessed hope.” Titus 2:13 says, “Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.” [NKJV]

Notice that we are not looking for the appearing of Antichrist, but of Jesus Christ. A lot of Christians now believe that Antichrist must appear before the rapture. They base this on 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3.

“Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to Him, that you may not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.” [NASB]

People often confuse “the day of the Lord” and “the rapture.” A study of the day of the Lord in both the New and Old Testaments shows that it is not a single day, but an epoch. It begins at the beginning of the seven years of tribulation (also known as “Daniel’s Seventieth Week”). It ends at the end of the millennium. But the rapture happens before the day of the Lord.

Paul taught the Thessalonian Christians about a pretribulation rapture and about the day of the Lord. Sometime after he left, a group began teaching that the day of the Lord had begun. To the Thessalonians, this meant they had missed the rapture — a notion that shook them to the core.

Paul tells them to remember what he taught them about the day of the Lord. Daniel 9:27 says that the tribulation (“Daniel’s Seventieth Week”) begins when “the prince who is to come” (Antichrist) makes a treaty with Israel. Before Antichrist can make such a significant treaty, he will obviously have to arrive on the world scene. So, before the tribulation can begin, Antichrist must have risen to a high level of power and prominence, probably as leader of the European Union or its successor.

He cannot rise to such a position now because Satan’s work on earth is being restrained. Paul went on to write, “Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he may be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. And then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming.” [2 Thessalonians 2:5-8, NASB]

The restrainer is the Holy Spirit working through the Church. At the rapture, that restraint on Satan will be taken out of the way. The teaching here is clear. The day of the Lord cannot begin until the rise of Antichrist, and Antichrist cannot rise until the Church has been taken out of the way. Therefore, the rapture must take place before the tribulation.

People who believe that the Antichrist must appear before the rapture face a conundrum. Instead of looking for the appearing of Christ, they must look for the appearing of Antichrist. But as we just read in Titus 2:13, we are to be “Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”

In other words, we are looking for life, not death; love, not hate; and so, we look forward with joy rather than despair.

Hal Lindsey is a hack as are others who make merchandise of the scriptures.

Place your complete trust in the words of Christ and the Apostles.

Antichrist comes before the LORD's return = Apostle John and Apostle Paul
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but from the world. The world is passing away, along with its desires; but whoever does the will of God remains forever.
Children, it is the last hour; and just as you have heard that the antichrist is coming,
so now many antichrists have appeared.
This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But their departure made it clear that none of them belonged to us.
1 John ch2

Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to Him, we ask you, brothers, not to be easily disconcerted or alarmed by any spirit or message or letter seeming to be from us, alleging that the Day of the Lord has already come. Let no one deceive you in any way, for it will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness—the son of destruction—is revealed. He will oppose and exalt himself above every so-called god or object of worship. So he will seat himself in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. 2 Thes ch2

The LORD warns us of the lie of pre-trib rapture:

At that time, if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There He is!’ do not believe it. 24For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders that would deceive even the elect, if that were possible. 25See, I have told you in advance.
26So if they tell you, ‘There He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

The LORD says:
Immediately after the tribulation of those days:
‘The sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.b
30At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven,c and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.d 31And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

‘The sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.b
30At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven,c and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.d 31And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

John was NOT writing to US when he said, "Little children, it is the last hour." It was the last hour in HIS day. Those of HIS day had heard that "antichrist" was coming. There were many with the spirit of antichrist. In other words, they were those who denied Christ. They had gone out from among those very people of JOHN'S day. By the way, in case you didn't know, the term ANTICHRIST appears nowhere in the Revelation but only in the epistles of John.

To whom is Paul writing in 2 Thessalonians? He is addressing those very flesh-and-blood Thessalonians of HIS day. It was about THEIR being gathered together that Paul wrote. The lawless one was being restrained in THEIR day. They knew who it was!

Also, Jesus' words in Matthew 24:24-28 are directed at those very disciples right there with Him. THEY were not to follow false Christs who would come on the scene in THEIR day. Note: Jesus said, "If anyone says to YOU (my disciples standing right here with Me), LOOK, here is the Christ . . . do not believe it." Jesus told THEM in advance. If THEY were told that Christ was in the wilderness, THEY were not to go out. If THEY were informed that Christ was in the inner rooms, THEY were not to believe it. WE are NOT the YE.

And why do you stop at verse 31? THEY were to recognize these things are easily as THEY recognized the coming of summer in the budding of the trees. When THEY saw all of those things begin to happen, THEY were to know that HE was near, AT THE DOOR. In language that should be clear to every believer, Jesus plainly established the time: "THIS generation will by no means pass away until ALL THESE THINGS take place" (vs. 34). ALL THOSE THINGS happened in those disciples' generation!

The fig tree putting forth it's leaves is the earthly nation Israel. God reestablished the earthly nation Israel in 1948.

I don't know what Lindsey's doing or teaching these days. All I know is in the past he's made a lot of false prophecies then tries to wiggle his way out of it.

He writes a lot of books I know that. He seems to me to be like a lot of Christian authors who make their living selling books: they just throw everything at the wall and hope something sticks. I'd wager if a person had the time and patience to wade through all his books they'd find a million contradictions.

He lost credibility with me a long time ago.

Insisting that the NT writers were writing to us about things that were going to happen to us is like insisting that WE were partakers in the events of the Civil War, or the Great Depression, or WW I and WWII. We were not. Those were historical events involving SPECIFIC people and SPECIFIC happenings. Jesus told HIS DISCIPLES STANDING right there with Him that THEY should not be led astray; THEY would hear of wars and rumors of wars; THEY would be hated and killed; THEY would see the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet; THEY would hear of false Christs but THEY were not to follow them; THEY were to recognize the signs of His coming as surely as THEY recognized the coming of summer in the budding of the trees. Then Jesus told THEM clearly and plainly: "THIS generation [i.e., YOUR generation] will by no means pass away until ALL THESE THINGS take place." He was NOT speaking to US and telling US that those things would happen to US. They were SPECIFIC events that were to happen to a SPECIFIC people (those of HIS day) at a SPECIFIC time (THAT very generation in which THOSE disciples lived).

It is ridiculous to think historical events can happen to all people throughout all time. WE are NOT the YE of Matthew 24 nor of numerous other NT passages. Those Scriptures given to those of THAT day were written TO them but FOR us. From the things THEY lived through, we learn of God's faithfulness and trustworthiness. We learn of His fulfilled promises. Those facts strengthen OUR faith in OUR God for OUR time.

AND, I did not say that ALL These Things will be experienced in every generation for all generations.......

AND there, in FACT, are things that pertain to every generation for ALL generations until HIS Second Coming.....

AND the LORD was very specific to ALL generations to this: Deut 4:1-2 , Proverbs 30:5-6 , Revelation 22:18

Anyone who says that Matthew chapter 24 / Luke 21 does not pertain to us for instruction in Righteousness is deceived.

EXAMPLE #1: Jesus answered, “See to it that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

EXAMPLE #2: Then they will deliver you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. At that time many will fall away and will betray and hate one another, and many false prophets will arise and mislead many.

EXAMPLE #3: And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

EXAMPLE #4: But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. On account of My name they will deliver you to the synagogues and prisons, and they will bring you before kings and governors. This will be your opportunity to serve as witnesses. So make up your mind not to worry beforehand how to defend yourselves. For I will give you speech and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

Prophecy is the proof of GODs word. Without prophets, there wouldn't be a BIBLE...

AGAIN, WHO are the recipients of those words? Jesus told THOSE disciples right there with Him that THEY were not to be deceived. THEY would hear of wars and rumors of wars; THEY were not to be alarmed. Jesus warned them BEFOREHAND. The end would come in THEIR lifetime AFTER those things happened that He said would happen to THEM. THAT is the audience relevance. That is the CONTEXT. THEY were to be hated by all nations. In THEIR time many would fall away. The GOSPEL WAS preached in the all the world in THEIR day. See Colossians 1:5, 6, 23; Rom. 16:25-26, etc.).

Before all of that, WHOM would they seize and persecute? THOSE disciples right there with Jesus to whom He is speaking!!!!!!

There are persecutions now and have been persecutions throughout all of history but they were not THOSE persecutions and THOSE tribulations. The things Jesus predicted were to happen, He predicted that they would happen to HIS DISCIPLES RIGHT THERE WITH HIM. When? It couldn't be more clear. Why don't people understand this? JESUS HIMSELF CLEARLY and PLAINLY gave the timing when He said to THOSE disciples: "THIS generation will by no means pass away until ALL THESE THINGS take place." We are NOT the YE of Matthew 24 and many other passages. Those disciples experienced in THEIR lifetime ALL of the things Jesus predicted. They were HISTORICAL events and were not for any other generation!.

The reason so many stumble over simple time words is because their preconceived ideas and concepts of the events do not fit the clear timing and they NEVER will. The timing is plain and simple. The serious and honest student of the Word must adjust his paradigm to fit the timing and that timing involved those disciples of Jesus' day and none other. Re-evaluate your understanding of the NATURE of the Parousia, the Resurrection, and the Judgment until that understanding coincides with their CLEAR--THAT generation. Unless and until you do, you will always be at odds with simple words such as SOON, AT HAND, NEAR, SHORTLY, ABOUT TO, etc.
