I was reading robo's monthly fundraising. I wanted to be a volunteer here because this place really helped me during a hard time.

After awhile though, all was not roses and sunshine, but that was because there was some growth (mine) that needed to happen, or I was just tired from my job. No not my little chore here, but the jobs that keep the roof over my head.

I have been back more lately and came across the email and started having inner dialogue, wondering if it is time to donate a little. I don't do much but I try because I believe God is and can use this platform. I just haven't done so in awhile.

It got me to pondering.

I wonder if anyone here has a testimony, a giggle, a good connection, a teaching...anything that CC has shown itself to a blessing to your life. Will you, please, share with me.

I'd like your truth, your Christian Chat experience. My preference is to keep it positive and fun, if possible.

This site has been a blessing for me.

There has been good, bad and ugly. And that’s just from me!

I’ve interacted with many wonderful people, learned so much, and found a huge diversity of topics and opinions.

I especially like the latitude given to people to express those opinions. While still balancing the need for sound doctrine.

This is exactly what I needed and wanted to know. Thank you for taking the time, brother.

You're welcome sister.

You are definitely one of the Christians I'd like to emulate. I can't ever remember a harsh post by you, even when it seems like it might be warranted. Blessed are the peacemakers!

I have only been here a short time, I found CC when looking for an open place to confess my struggle with addiction, Magenta has been a huge blessing! Everyday is a struggle, but here I find sound, Bible based encouragement and direction. Do I still need to come clean with stuff, we all do! Here I find I can w/o being looked down on. A huge blessing for me! Thank you,
Abba, Father, be with us today, give us your strength and guidance to be victorious for you. Amen

This site has been a blessing fo me esp prayer when was going through a hard time and to keep a christian perspective on things..to focus on Jesus. Sometimes the struggles and problems we go through in life are so tough and hard that we lose perspective, to know others have gone through, or go through the same and yet keep faith is inspiring.

There are lots of ways to be christian but iron does sharpen iron, and I love that I can keep winning the last person to post thread. EVERYTIME! lol

if you have time you give it but I suppose if you have money you'd give that...I only have time. Seems to me like people either have time or money nobody seems to have both. Blessing if we all did though!

Lanolin, I recall a slogan from my time in the 12-step program...keep coming back! (If you do, you will eventually realize that Oblio is the king of the last post thread...the winner! Lol)

As I am basically a shut-in, have been for years, and besides my kids, I'm basically alone, this forum is my social life. It is valuable to me.

what happens when you reach the top of the twelve steps? I just picture them like a staircase going up. But it could mean 12 steps to find the X on the map and finding the buried treasure...I dont know.

It's been a long time...perhaps something like practicing these principles in all our affairs.

The 12th step is supposed to be a "spiritual awakening". But it is probably not the same as the New Birth. While God is in the program, there is no mention of Christ.

There was in the original program. There are now many that do mention Christ. True discipleship has made the difference for me.
Thank you all, truly. This has been so helpful. God Bless you all.
You are welcome...and thanks for volunteering! :)

Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message
to (insert those who still suffer), and to practice these principles in all our affairs. <= step 12.

It is all the steps being worked in harmony with each other, not one isolated step.

Here (<= link :)) is a page that mentions some of the AA literature that talks about Christ.

Here (<= link :D) is another page that talks about how God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the
Bible are frequently mentioned in A.A. General Service Conference-approved literature.

The 12 steps are derived from the bible. Much to the chagrin of some! Lol
