Verse 9. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

What are you talking about Jesus I don't understand.

Verse. 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

Jesus just looks at him and says Are you not a master, a high mucky muck of Israel? You don't understand something as simple as this! That you must be born again.

Verse.11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

I tell you the truth We myself and my followers tell you the whole truth and nothing but the truth and still you do not believe, you refuse the truth.

Verse 12. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

I have told you “earthly” normal everyday things and you can't understand them; Who do you expect to believe and understand the things of God I want and need to tell you.

Verse 13. And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

This is a Hebrew saying and dose not translate well. Here in Arkansas they say u all got to come for dinner. Dinner here means lunch supper means dinner. Here is the best translation I can come up with. No one has gone up into heaven, but there is One who came down from heaven, the Son of Man [Himself--whose home is in heaven].

Verse 14. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

In Numbers chapter 21 the people are in the wilderness God has delivered them from Egypt feed them, taken care of all their needs and they start to speak against God and Moses; What does God do? He sends fiery serpents to kill the people. The people cry out to God and ask Moses to protect them. God tells Moses to make a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole; if the people where bitten by the serpent and then look upon the pole they would not die. This is symbolic of Jesus on the cross. If we look at that cross, except what Jesus did on that cross for us and believe in the healing, the saving power of Jesus we shall also be saved from spiritual death and have eternal life. One more thing about this serpent on a pole you will find it on the coat of every doctor's coat it has become the medical symbol.

Verse 15.That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

The key word here is believe. Go back and read the meanings of that word. It is an action word it takes action on your part. Verse 16. For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This is one of the most memorized verses in the bible and yet misunderstood verses because people don't understand the word believe. They thank that all they have to do is say the sinners prayer and they are saved and on there way to heaven, That is just the birth. Jesus said that He taught first the physical and then the spiritual. Thank about how a child grows. First milk, then milk and cereal, then mashed veggies, then solid food; from dippers to training paints, from preschool through high school and maybe collage. It is the same thing in out spiritual live. You have to get from the milk to solid food to the potter house. Problem is most churches today stop at the milk and cereal, some get to the mashed veggies. 2st Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman rightly dividing the word of truth. You must become a master builder. Hebrews chapter 6.12For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. I hope you can start to see the importance of finding a church, pastor, Sunday school ect. that will tech Gods word with truth and understanding; not just a little here and there.

Lets get back and finish up John chapter 3. We are going to finish with verses 17&18. Verse 17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Jesus did not come to condemn anyone, we do that ourselves by not excepting him and getting to know Him through His word and building a personal relationship with him.

Verse 18. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

You either believe in Him and have salvation or you don't and are condemned. Your choose so you need to get it right.

Interesting read thanks for taking the time to post.

Remember that every Christian has to start somewhere it’s a process of growth

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:45‬ ‭

“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:8-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Belief of it is true leads somewhere but it begins inside the heart and comes out of the mouth leading us into “faith that is expressed through actions “ which comes from faith to faith as we hear and grow in his word eventually coming to things like this

“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:46‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What do you think Jesus was trying to tell Him. In order to make it into heaven you have to be born first of woman water right here on earth then you have to grow up get some understanding and ask God to come into your heart and give you a new heart and a new spirit. You must be born again born from above born of the spirit. He was also telling him you should know this you. It starts by asking God for forgiveness. You have to take Luke 6:46-49 There are a lot of people in a lot of churches that are saying Lord, Lord, but they don't take the time to understand Gods word build a good foundation and then build a strong house. They would rather run to church on a Wednesday night eat dinner set in church till 7-7:30 then go home put there feet up an watch tv. Then comes Sunday we set there looking at our watch thanking the fish are not going to be hungry by the time I get to the lake. When what they should be doing is laying a good foundation like the Christians in Berea that heard Paul and Sials preach/teach but they did not just hear they went home and surched the scriptures to make sure what was said was true. Do you or any of the people in your church listen to the pastor give a message then go home and make sure what he said is true? Or do you just build your house on the sand and say I don't need to study paster gave me everything I need to know and I am ready to fly away.

no I don’t interpret being born of a woman to equate to water there’s nothing to say that . but it sounds like you don’t need anyone discussing your “teachings” so I’ll move on

yeah it was the water of baptism Jesus was talking about though John had just baptized them all In water and said Jesus would baptize them in the spirit

for instance this isn’t referring to a woman being the witness

“And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

he’s not saying the spirit the mother and the blood, he’s saying the baptism of water for remission of sins because we believe in the blood shed for the remission of sins and the word of spirit that tells us of remission of sins.

or this this isn’t talking about human birth it’s talking about water baltism for remission of sins that cleanses the conscience because we believe the blood was shed for remission of sins

“which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:20-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the answers to the Bible never require us to look at the natural world but look at other scripture and simply accept and believe letting it form our understanding

do you remember how water and blood came forth from Jesus and he sent his spirit to the father at his death ?

Well at his baptism Jesus was baptized in water and received the spirit from heaven later he shed his blood

we get baptized in water because we believe he shed his blood for us and he promised to give us the gift of the spirit from heaven .

The natural birth of women never enters into the equation regarding spiritual things.

Always think on how when our blessed Savior was crucified, Water and Blood issued from His most precious side when the centurion lanced Hm.

If we are born of Him, we are born of the Water and the Blood, for nothing in the Word taught us is happenstance. God bless all in Jesus Yeshua and all who will be, amen.

You must be born of the flesh before you can be born of the spirit. John3:4 Nicodemus sayth unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mothers womb and be born? 3:5 Jesus answered Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and the spirit he can not enter the kingdom of God. 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. 3:7 Marvel not that I say unto thee, you must be born again.
I am going to ask you a question. I got saved while I was in the service, we did not have a place to get baptized on board ship; what would have happened to me if our ship came under attack and I was killed before I got baptized? Would I still have not been saved by the blood of Christ? I use to do a lot of street witnessing we would lead people to Jesus right there on the street, we baptized new Christians about about every 4-6 weeks depending on the weather. Again if something happened to them in between time where they condemned to hell. I am not saying that baptizing people is not important Jesus said to do it. It is a public confession of your faith, it is a sing that you have died to the flesh and been risen with Christ into a new life. What about death bed confessions are they no good. This things are real life things they can and do happen. Do you have an answer for me.

Well, if that’s the case, then every baby that dies in the womb is not saved, because they haven’t been born of water.

Wrong because they have a soul and all souls return to God. They don't have to go through this earth age. and what about the thief on the cross? Jesus said to him today you will be with me in Paradise. What about the souls that Jesus went and preached to that were in prison that die before He was crucified they did not have any type of water baptism. I can find verses in the bible that say you must be born again to be saved. You can not show me 1 verse that says you can not go to heaven if you are not baptized. Should we be yes is it an absolute no, but being born again is.

YOU’RE the one who says you must be born of water through physical birth.

I’m pointing out, that if that’s the case, then unborn babies would be lost.

Unless you’re carving out an exception for unborn babies.

PREACH it Brother - we are saved by faith in the Blood Atonement of Christ, not by water baptism.

Water baptism is outward and symbolic of the death and resurrection of Christ which is why the LORD established it.

Not as an act of salvation but an outward act that we publicy embrace because the Word of God has drawn us - we have received the call of the Father and want to follow in His footsteps.

There are, perhaps many, who are water baptized but fall away from the Truth for it cannot save them.

With the heart man believes unto Salvation.....

Read again the discussion between the LORD and Nicodemus.
I’ve read it a lot brother , I don’t interpret Jesus explaining about childbirth. He often isn’t replying to what someone said but is always speaking of heavenly spiritual things

if we’re looking at it naturally it would make sense , if we’re looking at it spiritually it makes perfect sense with the rest of scripture.

they had all just been baptized in water for remission of sins , John had been saying “ I baptize you with water , the Christ is going to baptize you with the spirit

just as johns ministry ended jesus ministry began he’s explaining to nicodemus “ water baptism isn’t enough , you also must be baptized in the spirit “

it’s the same message John had just preached about water and spirit , and why they continued baptizing in water l the way through the Bible

when you get baptized you are submerged beneath the water into christs death and burial , you aren’t left there your also lifted up by the baptizer , showing forth a new life. Just like when a persons born

“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

through baptism we’re born here as abrahams children with a clear conscience from our past sins a new person on Gods sight, not our natural sight but in his eyes through faith.

“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:27-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that promise of baptism is further understood here

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38-39, 41‬ ‭KJV‬‬

bit brother I’m not saying you or anyone has to see it the same way lol we already went through this on the other thread. If you want to see it as being born of a woman it’s perfectly acceptable to me for you to see it that way. God will work it oir whoever sees it correctly in time

It makes perfect sense spiritually = Perfect as in: all God's ways are Perfect.

The Lord Himself made it specifically clear in John ch3 = "that which is flesh is flesh and that which is spirit is spirit."

The Lord says there are two separate births = one natural and one spiritual.

No one can experience the Spiritual New Birth, Born-Again, unless they are first born in water = mothers womb.

This is a immutable fact of Scripture - from Genesis to Revelation.

CLUE - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

Yeah like I was saying if that’s how you want to see it , I’m okay with that we’ve already went through this and started our case. I’m good with leaving it there
