I live in South Australia, and I loved Queensland when I visited way before Covid came. I visited there with my parents and older brother, I visited Sea world (Oops, had no idea until recently the suffering dolphins endure there), movie world which was fun, dream world and wet & wild. The weather here in Adelaide has been nice this week, the sun's been out
Adelaide is nice too, well laid out...the country in the Hills area is just brilliant.

I don't like animals being put in captivity either, and especially birds. God didn't give them wings to fly just to have them sit on a perch all day. My cat's allowed to go in and out of the house throughout the day, after dawn and before dusk, but she's happy enough because there's a slave to protect and feed and clean up after her, and give her a brush. The only animal entrapped in this house has two legs, and has no feathers on its wings!

There is wild dolphin feeding done by some volunteers here at TCB. They've got a new bub that comes in for a feed with mum and dad, and some aunts and uncles. It's a popular thing for holiday makers to watch the feeding at 8am at the waters edge in the mornings.

I love cats, I want one when I move out of my parents place into my own unit but my dad says it's not a pet friendly place without even knowing if the manager and neighbours will be okay with it. My mum thinks it would be too dangerous, in case it accidentally got out. I'm just going to wait until I move there and get settled then ask the manager and neighbours if they're okay with me having a pet cat. I heard that they can lower blood pressure and help with mental health

Depends on the breed. If the landlord and neighbours approve of you having one, there's heaps of info on the internet about which breeds are best for unit dwellers.

I didn't do my research, and just got a rehomer. She's turned out to be quirky, bordering on the psychotic IMO. It's definitely never boring around here, stressful, but never boring! 😼😵‍💫

That would have been a very sad time for you and your family, I'm sad to learn about it. I hope you are able to get a cat for company in your new digs 👍

Let me know if you want to chat about any Christian issues, and feel free to PM me if you wish. If I give out an opinion on anything I try to give it from what I know/believe God expects, I don't care much for my own opinion. It's wise to cross check whatever I say though, with the Bible and other Christian's perspectives.

What are the property prices and rents like in Adelaide at the moment, have they gone crazy like those on the East Coast? The average price of a 4 bedder 2 bather suburban house and land in Tin Can Bay is around the $600k mark now, was about $400k 2-3 years ago. Rents are usually around .01% of property value here.

The prices for properties and apartments are through the roof, very expensive in Adelaide. I consider myself lucky that I was able to at least get my name down for one apartment. I would like to chat with you about some Christian issues and trials I'm facing, can't message privately without paying though. I have some struggles I'm facing, and it would be helpful to talk about it with you since I can't get any encouragement from my dad

I might be able to initiate something from my end.

Do you think some of the issues you wish to discuss might be better directed to a mature Christian sister? If so I'll approach some on your behalf to see if they can help out if that seems better to you?

I'm sorry, I have no idea what a Christian sister is. What's a Christian sister?

No problems, let me explain.

When we are automatically added to God's family upon our becoming a follower of Christ, aka becoming a Christian and therefore a member of God's church, all female members of that church automatically become our sisters, and the males automatically become our brothers.

I'm not saying you need to ditch your biological family, but in terms of any Christian lifestyle advice, which now supersedes our old worldly lifestyle, it's best for us to consult a fellow member of our new spiritual family.

Further to that, when we are seeking or giving out Christian beliefs and lifestyle advice, we have to consider what would be the gender appropriate person, or couple that should be involved in our discussion. Ideally we have access to a pastor and his wife to assist us, but sometimes that service is not available.

A mature Christian sister, ie fellow female believer that has been a Christian for a long while and has proven herself to be circumspect amongst her peers, has probably been through the conflicts that are confronting a newer female Christian, and is therefore an ideal repository for female specific advice. A Christian has to decide what gender, or appropriate couple, they need to approach to get the kind of advice they are after.

Anyway, if you ask a question of me that I feel is best asked of a female Christian, I'll let you know accordingly and will seek out someone that can help you, I won't leave you in the lurch.

Does that make sense, or have I confused you?

Time for bed for me now, sorry. I'll see if I can send you a private message tomorrow to start a conversation if that's OK.

That makes sense, and I think it might be best for me to talk to a Christian sister. But can I still talk to you too? Might be good to get a male's perspective too, especially when it comes to dads

My cat is a lot like that too, although she does not go outside. It is not feasible. This morning while I was getting ready to feed her, she was of course near by and I accidentally stepped on her tail. Even just stepping on the fur of her tail you would think she has been caused pain unto death, so actually connecting with the bone, the noise that came out of her startled me so thoroughly we were both yelling at the same time. It was kind of funny. She immediately moved away and I was apologizing profusely as she turned back to give me a look no doubt wondering why I was laughing. At least I was barefoot and I don't think she was hurt, really. She is a very quiet cat normally. Sometimes I would not even know she is meowing if I were not looking right at her to see her mouth moving.

I used to accidentally step on the family cat's tail as well when she was alive, she wasn't a very quiet cat and would let you know if it had hurt her. I miss her jumping up on the couch with me to sit on my lap for a cuddle, she made me feel better when I wasn't feeling very happy

She sounds like a real cutie 😻

I have the same problem...she gives out an indignant yowl like a 'hey, watch it'. I say 'oh, so sorry, but I didn't tell you to put your tail under my foot, you know'. I go over and give her a cuddle, and she acts nonplussed. 😼👐 I thought about putting lights on her so I can see her in bad light, but there's no need as she now gives me a precautionary yell when she hears me coming. She won't move though, I've got to walk around her!

That could be a possibility, maybe we could contact each other via email or phone if you're comfortable with that? Or I do have a Facebook account
