It is NOT a either/or and i never said that, but it is before the LORD.

Here is Holy Spirit wisdom in the things of God that i have been sharing:

#1. "the LORD never set before us a path of intellectualism that, by itself, leads us to Eternal LIFE = the Holy Spirit.

#2. "the FACT that i can understand Scripture and your posts and the error of your posts shows forth these immutable Truths.
God created man to have thought/intellect/decision making abilities.
Man's intellect became contaminated by and thru sin, this is what we were conceived and born into this world in, and were educated in = thus the Scripture says: "do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. " Romans 12:2

#3. religion is outward, relies on the intellect, and is conformed to this world with the guise of spirituality.

#4. being conformed to the Mind of Christ means our intellect bows the knee and submits unto Christ

#5. the evidence of a mind that is not submitted to Christ is one that argues against Scripture, puffs oneself up
whereby they 'assume' they are being patronized because they assume their intellect is above others.

#6. religion loves and operates under intellectual prowess, in which many submit to and admire = respect of persons

#7. God frowns on point #6 = "But HE gives more grace. Therefore HE says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

AGAIN - it is not by intellect that the Holy Spirit placed this understanding in 1 Corinthians

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
For it is written:

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;
but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
It's becoming increasing clear you're just looking for attention, so find another stooge to play with. I have better things to do.

HalleluYah and Praise the LORD my Brother, and yet Saul of Tarsus study led to the stoning of simpleton Stephen who,
conspicously was filled with the Holy Spirit = Acts ch7
Saul's intellect was corrupted and of no avail to God or his brethren of the flesh until WHEN?

please review Post #1,135 - thank you, my Brother
"Simpleton Stephen"?

"Simpleton Stephen"?
Saul of Tarsus that represents 'intellectualism' versus the simple faith = Stephen

Intellectualism that is not submitted to Christ always seeks to 'stamp out and cancel' those with the Holy Spirit.

Intellectuals scoff at simpleton's in Christ.

What they fail to realize is that God delights and chooses those who are despised to bring Glory to Himself.

Paul was a "Pharisee of Pharisees", his conversion was miraculus, a choice by God to further His Gospel.
Jesus was clear that ALL things are new in Him, when Paul had his experience and subsequent healing in Damascus he then spent time learning, growing in the Spirit and knowledge of His ways. :)
AND - Paul was Baptized in the Holy Spirit which made all the difference in his understanding - amen.

the Apostle Paul said: "I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you." - 1 Cor 14:18

I get what you mean now, yes, He indeed shows Himself strong through our weakness, praise be His name. May we each decrease that He might increase.
Bless you brother (y):)

As we are all asked to be, if we indeed have the hunger and thirst for the things of God we are required to have and not live unto ourselves.
blessings to you brother.

AGAIN - you misquote the Scripture and adulterate the understanding = religion vs Spirit

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God,
being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh,
but the answer of a good conscience toward God), = this comes from the heart = INWARD
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, (not water baptism) who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.

the Apostle Peter makes it CLEAR as DAY = water baptism is purely symbolic = it is the heart confession unto Christ that saves

Greek word used = antitypon
symbolizes
ἀντίτυπον (antitypon)
Adjective - Nominative Neuter Singular
Strong's Greek 499: Neuter of a compound of anti and tupos; corresponding, i.e. A representative, counterpart.

That is scripture...do you have any understanding...at all?
I can't change scriptures.
Geesscch!!!

This "water" refers to physical childbirth.
One must be born of the flesh AND of the spirit. This is not water baptism.
You are being ridiculous.......what about all the others which support that being a pool of water -dunked?
I have confidence that you have better intellect than that.

And you cannot SEE from the very scripture you thought to correct me on???
Thank You for that as i was hoping you would go to 1 Peter ch3

Please review again Post #1,127 whereby the Apostle Peter firmly states that water baptism is symbolic of the salvation
that only comes thru the suffering and death of Christ for forgiveness of sins and His Resurrection unto Eternal Life.

Keep in mind that i was completely immersed in water baptism by faith as well and i was FULLY SAVED by the Blood and the Spirit an entire year before my water baptism took place.

timed out...
Amniotic fluid is not water....(LOL)......not even a good try.
Medical/biological learned person will confirm this: "To begin with, amniotic fluid consists of water from the mother’s body."

Any woman who has given birth and any midwife/nurse/doctor who has assisted pregnant women in giving birth will verify that the woman is in labor, ready to birth her child, by this medical term: "her water broke"

Every Jewish woman and man who was of age and educated to the basic prinicples of conception and birth
fully understood Jesus words of "born of water" as referring to the woman's water bursting and the baby being born.

Thus Nicodemus responded to Jesus by saying "can a man enter a second time into his mother's womb?"

Just an aside, since we are off track anyway, probably, There is scripural indication Judgement returns to the place of the covenant, the most recent event being the TwinTowers just a few blocks from the church where Washington dedicated the United States to God.
Mt. Moriah and Abraham, I wonder about Saul/ Paul spending that time of learning and the coming disappearence of Damascus overnight.

I pretty much disagree with all of these statements....
You are painting with a broad brush against intellectuals (whatever that means) the same way you accuse others of painting with a broad brush against Pentecostals....
If your statements were true, then we should expect all Christians to have IQ's in the 60's....

In fact, you reinforced my point that Paul, even though an "intellectual" spoke in tongues....

This thread has taken a seriously silly turn....

OK we see where your intellect has already taken you = rebuffing the messenger and denial of the word of God.

Brother, you are disagreeing with the written word of God = the Acts of the Apostles = book of Acts.

Prove from Acts that my post was in error.

Also prove from Scripture that Paul received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit from intellectualism.

The fact that a very rare occurrence of an intellectual being #1 saved AND #2 Baptized in the Holy Spirit meant that a drastic change of HEART and MIND took place in Saul of Tarsus.

WHAT, according to the Factual account in Acts happened to Saul of Tarsus???

Peace

I give my friend DavidTree the benefit of the doubt, I am sure we all have known those who place worldly wisdom above relationship with the living God.
Just last week a friend shared video of a young lady sharing testimony at a commencement when she invited Holy Spirit to come, of course he did, she became overwhelmed and went down, the nerds with the mortar board hats by her called for an ambulance, that doesn't sound like something a person with His wisdom would do.

I just got home from ministering the music for an AOG congregation. My son and I play for them every Saturday evening.
They like the term "resurrection Sunday" instead of Easter. One of the long-time members told my son "actually, TODAY is resurrection day". It dawned on me that most congregations probably have differing views on scripture within their own group. Maybe it is according to their level of study. I'm not sure. I love all of these people and we have a nice time.
I'm not a member. They ONLY speak in English to me.
We all worship the same God and share the blessings of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Our doctrinal differences don't interfere with the services. Praise God.
