Lounges are overrated. Couldn't we have more patios. I mean, then we'd have more room for giant lizards... as well as convenient access to the parking lot for any tailgators.

That evil Seoulsearch...
I would have to wholeheartedly agree with this. My mother even told my first serious boyfriend (high school) that I am something only a mother can love. :geek: Thanks, Mom! Lol.

In all seriousness, I haven't replied to this thread except when summoned on purpose.

Kinda has posted many, many times in several of the many, many of the threads I've written over the years that he absolutely hates threads about relationships, and that's kind of my gig here. He'll often write something like, "Oh great, yet ANOTHER thread about relationships, just what we all want to talk about!" Lol! And that's perfectly fine because we're all different. But I certainly can't see myself not talking about relationships in the near future, so we all gotta do what we each gots to do.

So I've stayed away from this thread and would also keep my distance from any Lounge Forum he would have simply out of respect for kinda's wishes to avoid any and all talk about relationships -- because chances are, I would probably somehow gravitate back towards that subject. It just seems to be how I'm built, because that's what most people talk to me about -- even when I'm not in one myself.

A long time ago, a Singles Forum regular at the time wrote and told me that the threads here in Singles were what kept him going. This was back when CC was a lot busier than it is now, somewhere around 2015. He said that everyday he would come to Singles and look for new threads to answer, because that interaction was getting him through each day. I've never forgotten that, or how the interaction in the threads can mean a world of difference to people without us knowing. And it's one of the reasons why I keep writing threads, though at a much slower pace, due to the busy-ness of real life.

But I've always promoted that the forum is plenty big enough for people to carry on about each of their own topics that interest them in their own space, and it's a very healthy thing that different people want to talk about different things.

So, I'll stick to talking about things that interest me, even if that means mostly covering The Most Dreaded And Disgusting topic of relationships, heh.

And it's good to see a wide enough space for others to talk about what they want to discuss, especially for those who want to take a break from, or wish to completely avoid discussions about relationships altogether.

Best wishes to the new lounge!

Well... I mean... It is possible to just NOT READ a relationship thread, right?

I mean it's not as though you use subterfuge when you label a thread. It's always fairly obvious what kind of thread you make - you make very descriptive titles. If someone doesn't like them, they should be quite easy to not read.

And it's not like they are the only threads in the forum. There are many other threads to choose from, on many other topics. It's not like your relationship threads are the only games running in this casino.

Lol!

If the forum were a casino, my threads would be the penny slot machines. :geek:

Writing threads about sometimes serious, sometimes controversial topics is a very interesting thing. There will be people who will blast you from every side about every possible angle you can imagine, while never having the spinal cord to try doing it extensively for themselves. It is definitely not for the faint of heart, and you have to keep at it for a while to really get the jist of what it entails.

The funny thing is that occasionally, I'll get someone who's blasted several of my threads but then wants me to be part of their own project, expecting me to put on my most jovial, cheerful, "let's-get-the-party-started" mask.

I'm sure we're all like this, encountering people who want one side of you, but ONLY that one side, and don't or won't accept any other components to your personality.

There are times in my life when I've been dangerously prone to people-pleasing, but in the end, all I can be is myself, because I've found that I'm miserable when people try to make me put on my clown shoes and dance on command.

One of my major goals in life the past few years has been to just be myself -- relationship talk and all -- and stick closer than ever to the people who allow me to be me, no matter which side decides to show itself that day.

Lol...

Years ago, I actually used to have one person telling me he only like my serious threads, and that I should only write about serious topics because he said that all my silly threads were trivial and annoying.

Then yet another guy told me I needed to write more humorous threads because my serious topics were too depressing and too much of a dark thundercloud hovering over the Singles Forum.

At that time, I seriously considered their criticisms and would sometimes try to adjust my writing into what I thought would be what people actually wanted (so I wouldn't be so terribly annoying all the time!)

These days, I just write whatever comes to mind or have pondered for some time.

I understand that everyone will have their own preferences -- shoot, I have plenty of my own as well.

But I've found that it's so much easier to just go with who I am rather than trying to cater to those with specific tastes (which is also why I'll most likely never try writing as a means of employment,) and people can either ignore my threads that they don't approve of, or easier yet, just put me on ignore altogether.

Mine had a cherry on top.
when we pray, we all say amen

so yea

I havent heard of christians saying 'ah no' to any heartfelt prayer
For all the promises of God are yes and amen

Ok Imagine God having to deal with everyones prayers and they are all different
And He cant say NO to any of them...He wants to answer them all.

well the ones hes He doesnt answer can just take that as a NO but really it could just be a NOT NOW or WAIT and SEE

oh its just that lounges are perfect habitats for lizards dressed up in shiny platform shoes and afro wigs and gold medallions

I was never a fan of the 70s Im sorry to say...! I am not sure I could handle the decor if we went that retro and the fights over who gets to watch what on the tv

I think salons might only be boring for you if you are a boring person yourself.

"Please, please, like me"
I don't think so
I'm gonna stay true
To who I am

I am what I am
And that's all that I am
You can like me, you can hate me
I do what I do
And you haven't got a clue
Cause you don't see what I see

You wear clown shoes too??

(Sometimes, I wear the nose, too. I don't know why. It's like... a compulsion.)
