It was a good week. Good friends, good food, good fun.

Oh yeah, about the food... There was grilled hamburgers, grilled pork loin, homemade chili, chocolate pudding, chocolate chip cookies... We ate well this week. (Rod is good at the grill.)

Pigeon Forge is about the best place to have something like this. Never a shortage of things to do as a group.

On the other hand sometimes we just all stayed in and rested a bit. We didn't push it. We had a list of things we wanted to do, but we didn't make a schedule. We just took it a day at a time and did things as we felt like doing them.

Said nameless person/animal picked me up a brand new loaf later that day. Very kind gesture/peace offering.

It was the first loaf I saw and I didn't even know you HAD keto bread in here. I claim ignorance. :p

In related news I inadvertently found out keto bread makes french toast just as good as regular bread.

And the chocolate pudding didn't set up right, so you had plenty of good chocolate gravy to put over the french toast.

Oh yeah, about food... There was also cow tongue. And it was good. Not many were brave enough to try it, but those of us who dared were glad we did.

The thing that made this hilarious is that there were 4, count 'em, FOUR other loaves of regular bread on the counter. 😒

As helpful and thoughtful as Lynx was being, he happened to grab the ONE special loaf Pippy had bought - and had even set aside in a completely different part of the kitchen, but it wasn't enough to avoid the claws of one very determined Lynx. 🤨

About the cow tongue: That outer layer was peeled off before we ate it. Just for the record.

It tasted like pot roast with a lot of marbling. Delicious!

As children, we always knew when meat salad was going to be in our sandwiches.

How did we know?

The cellophane wrapped cow tongue in the refrigerator was a dead give-away

Your meet-up sounds like fun :)

Yes... Yes, you made certain I was thoroughly aware of this - AFTER the fact. Where were you before I made french toast? :p

The Appendage That Should Not Be Named. 🥺😭🥸

I said I would try at least one bite, but once I saw that thing in its full horrific form, I'm sorry y'all, but I just had to tap out.
Winston sure seemed interested in it...

A few evil participants tried (unsuccessfully) to slip my poor vegetarian owl (Winston, see previous post) The Tongue.

Thankfully, he was able to stick to his little feathered guns and promptly went for the banana bread instead.

Yeah... When YOU were watching. When you were away though, he showed other interests.
