“I have decided i'm going to enjoy my life without lots of rules and regulations in my life. All my life i've felt let down by God but yet i've remained loyal - until now. No more christianity, no more bible, no more going to church. I've had enough now.
I'm going to live my life my way - based on what i think is right.
That includes sex, alcohol, tattoo's etc etc.
I'm done.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rules and Regulations, that’s what your first sentence mentioned. Look around you, there have always been rules and regulations ALL your life, driving to anywhere you go, you have to follow the rules and regulations of the road. You follow them, you have to and I imagine you understand that it’s much safer that way. Now, consider the G-d’s rules and regulations, are they really something that is so bad and repulsive to make you quit, don’t steal, don’t lie, honor your father and mother, don’t make idols, don’t murder, love your enemies, pray for those that hate you, the righteous man considers the life of his animals but the wicked are cruel…But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. Your saying no to the only good thing, don’t.
Your next sentence, you feel let down? Why? I can only understand that it's because G-d didn’t give you what YOU wanted?
Prayer, firstly there’s a proper way to pray
14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
Your heart has to be right, it’s obvious that only good things can come from G-d’s will so you asking for something of G-d should be of his will. His obviously not going to answer your prayer if it’s something out of his will, his standards come first and as you read above in the first paragraph, they are good and precious standards. I think it’s ONLY reasonable for G-d to put this condition because if he didn’t then people can ask for sinful things. It only makes sense.
Another thing you should understand is that spiritual battles happen, according to… Daniel 10:12-13 … it’s the story of Daniel praying 21 days, if you don’t know about it read Daniel chapter 10, anyways long story short, an angel had to fight a demonic force called “prince of the kingdom of Persia” before coming to give Daniel a message, even Michael the angel of war had to help him fight… here’s the verses…
12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia
Next miracles will happen
Daniel 6
The Plot Against Daniel
1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps, to be over the whole kingdom; 2 and over these, three governors, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give account to them, so that the king would suffer no loss. 3 Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm. 4 So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then these men said, “We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”6 So these governors and satraps thronged before the king, and said thus to him: “King Darius, live forever! 7 All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.” 9 Therefore King Darius signed the written decree.
Daniel in the Lions’ Den
10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. 11 Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. 12 And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king’s decree: “Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?” The king answered and said, “The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.” 13 So they answered and said before the king, “That Daniel, who is one of the captives[a] from Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.” 14 And the king, when he heard these words, was greatly displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him. 15 Then these men approached the king, and said to the king, “Know, O king, that it is the law of the Medes and Persians that no decree or statute which the king establishes may be changed.” 16 So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.” 17 Then a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signets of his lords, that the purpose concerning Daniel might not be changed.
Daniel Saved from the Lions
18 Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought before him. Also his sleep went from him. 19 Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. 20 And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
21 Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! 22 My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.”
23 Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.
Darius Honors God
24 And the king gave the command, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions—them, their children, and their wives; and the lions overpowered them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they ever came to the bottom of the den. 25 Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth:Peace be multiplied to you. 26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end. 27 He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. 28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

“I'm not making this choice for attention and i'm doing what i think is right. All i've seen from christianity is bible verses and arguments. Not even christians understand the bible fully. ALL RELIGION leads to war or disagreements and i'm sick of being force fed crap from people who believe in stuff that i feel is outdated in this time (2011). I'm annoyed that people automatically assume i'm going to go on a bender and get wasted because i'm not. I referred to the alcohol thing because i never use to drink but now i might on social occasions.
Christianity to me is giving false hope to people that need something more in their lives and i fully understand faith can give you purpose. To me going to church and reading the bible is a form of brain washing. Being brought up from a young age to believe in God is the same as brain washing in my opinion. So much killing has been done in the name of religion (including christianity) and to me that is wrong.
I want to bring my daughter up in an environment were she can make up her own mind - in her own time about faith and religion. I have morals and don't need to be a christian to have strong ones. My daughter knows right from wrong (as do i) and i'm sure we will do fine without all religion in our lives.
I just wanted to let you all know what my opinions were because i believe them to be right - if you don't agree that is fine x”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All you’ve seen are verses and arguments? You’ve been looking at the wrong things, you’ve been looking at it from a superficial viewpoint. You look at people, you look at their mistakes and then you turn around and you blame G-d? Why not blame the people for their mistakes?
Nobody fully understands the Bible? That’s no excuse? Nobody fully understands ANYTHING, that’s why people are constantly researching and learning new things of the many subjects in the sciences and arts… and how much MORE the word of G-d. How much more the word of an all knowing, the most high and most wise of all…. How much difficult is it to fully understand his word. It’s written that G-d’s ways are mysterious.
Religions lead to war… firstly this isn’t a religion, it’s the truth and secondly let me give you an analogy of crusades. Consider the United States of America… the law states you should steal or murder. In the past the United States stole and murdered Native Americans, would you consider the people who stole and murdered corrupt? Or the laws that say don’t steal or murder corrupt? It’s the people, G-d’s word says don’t murder and don’t steal, yet in crusades that are exactly what happened. Who are corrupt? The people… it wasn’t because of G-d’s word that crusades happened it was because of PEOPLE who refused to accept and follow the word of G-d, people who wanted to do things THEIR way, the same people you seem to want to become. You are judging people, not G-d’s word. YET you want to blame G-d’s word for something G-d’s word obviously is against… it is like blaming the most noble and innocent man for the most cruel and evil actions of an evil man.
Nobody forces you, in order to accept G-d you should do it by your own free will.
It doesn’t matter if you’re going to go all out crazy in sin or if your only lightly going to sin. Think about this… can I lie a little? Can I murder a little? Can I rape a little? It doesn’t matter how little you’ll sin, it’s wrong.
It isn’t false hope, it’s helped me greatly in my life, today I managed to avoid a certain sin that was difficult to avoid for me. I avoided grief and guilt because of that. Life is so much better when your doing what’s right and good. Things only go well.
Brian washing, really? I guess going to school and reading text is also brain washing as well? How about going to the movies? How about reading or just listening to someone talk? You don’t know what brain washing is, going to church is clearly something you can decide to do, and the this faith is something you clearly are not forced to believe. Brain washing involves something like you tied to a chair, with no choice, torture, subliminal messages… you get the picture.
Your daughter has freedom of will since the day she was born, you can’t give freedom, G-d already gave her that. She is already in an environment that she can make choices of her own. Your “morals”, or anyone else’s are not morals. Only G-d can give us morals. It’s not about having “strong” morals… morals are not weak or strong… they are just moral or immoral. It’s not a gray scale. The truth is 100%, 99% and lower becomes a lie, like wise with other morals, it’s 100% or it’s immoral… so you see can’t have “strong” morals, only morals or immorals.
You need to wake up and come back to G-d, your throwing empty-excuses, and blaming G-d’s word, when clearly G-d’s word is against it, for the immoral things people do and have done(crusades) and your thinking that you can do better than G-d in the morality. PM me if you made a new account, talk to me, I’ll help you. G-d Bless.
