Corrupt is corrupt. You can't dismiss or minimize the corruption of one and emphasize it on the other to reinforce your personal view.
"In reference to your running for sheriff, I'm not sure how you would "Christianize" being a cop. Or what changes you feel you could get away with. That's assuming you could even be put into that office as an outsider."
Well i could encourage my officers to report any wrong doing by other officers and reward them for doing so, thereby destroying the "thin blue line". I could have a team that gives food to those in need (or to anyone in general), etc. anything that actually cares for people instead of just taking them to jail, (maybe if possible have lawyers on stand by for those who have been arrested).
As for getting into office, i just need to convince people to vote for me, just like any other politician.
"Separation of church and state. That was a term created to refer to keeping the government out of the church, not the other way around."
Thanks for the clarification.
"When it comes to policing there is no way to label it broadly. There are people out to do good to the best of their ability. And people out for themselves and no concern for upholding the law or helping anyone."
Well yeah that's obvious, but I don't know what that has to do with me. I can just make the hiring process harder.
"This argument could easily be taken outside of the main topic. The internet is extremely corrupt and a lot of bad comes as a result of it. Way more than policing ever has. Should Christians be on the internet?"
The internet isn't harming people though. Yes It can (and has) be used to do harm, but that's the person using it to do wrong. You can say the same thing about police and you would be correct, there are some people who use police powers to do wrong. but the difference is they are a lot harder to hold accountable then the average person because of their power.
