You said: "I’ve never said water saves anyone lol" = YES you do brother - Post #122
You need to preach this what you said = "you get baptized only because you believe Jesus shed his blood for your sins."
Which is exactly my words and emphasis = “water baptism for salvation is heretical when it places itself equal to or above the BLOOD of Christ.”
Why do you seek to argue against the BLOOD as the ONLY means by which our sins are PAID and washed away???
Find ONE Scripture that says 'water baptism washes sins away' apart from the BLOOD of Christ.
Naw that is an actual Lie I’ve never said “ water saves “ anyone
I’ve said from the start God designed baptism for remission of sins John the Baptist came baptizing in water for remission of sins , the apostles kept baptizing for remission of sins
you are like you do with scripture interpreting this to say “ water saves “ and attributing that statement to me not true though
this to be clear is what I’m saying
whatever Jesus said saves , saves. Regarding water baptism , God designed it for remission of sins . Made it plain in the written word of God
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and
preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
Mark 16:15-16 KJV
that’s true in my opinion believing and getting baptized saves like Jesus said there.
before Jesus died
“
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.”
Mark 1:1-4 KJV
after Jesus died and rose
“Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the
promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Then they that
gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”
Acts 2:38-39, 41 KJV
Before you explain “ it doesn’t say water “ and start explaining some other baptism
“To him give all the prophets witness, that
through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
While Peter yet spake these words,
the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that
on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
And
he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
Acts 10:43-48
your missing the entire point of baptism because your hung up on it not involving water lol what’s funny brother is your so dug in on it that you forgot where water baptism comes drom
And why we even know about getting baptized in water for remission of sins
it’s almighty Gods design for a person to hear the gospel believe and then get baptized in water for remission of sins. God saying it makes water baltism have value.
you seem to not be able to accept baptism in water but God is who designed it for remission of sins
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight. John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. And there went out unto him all the land of Judæa, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.”
Mark 1:3-5 KJV
the apostles kept baptizing for the same reason
“Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 2:37-38 KJV
but then again he did explain repentance and remission of sins would be preached in his name in all the world so it makes sense Peter would be preaching repentance and remission of sins and commanding baptism like they all did
“Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus
it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
and
that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
And ye are witnesses of these things.”
Luke 24:45-48
what began in the gospel with baptism for remission of sins is basic fundamental doctrine there’s really no basis for any argument against it honestly found in scripture.
at no point are we ever told baptism changed , it’s purpose changed , now we don’t need “water “baltism , that it has any other purpose but what he said it has which is “for repentance and remission of sins in his name “
it’s basic stuff but there’s a lot in the new testsment tomkewrn about it you seem hung up on water but none of your arguments have anything to do with scripture formknstsnce you won’t respond to all this scripture like Peter commanding Gentiles be water baptized the moment they receive the Holy Ghost youll Conveniently avoid all that and explain other stuff
it’s frustrating because e baptism is Christianity 101 it’s basic faith we hear believe and act because we believe
you can’t seem to accept water baptism os biblical doctrine designed by God for the purpose he said it’s for , almost like you think man added in later water baptism ? Or something ?
Gods design is to believe the gospel , repent and get baptized for remission of sins in Jesus name
I don’t think I’m the one who’s not understanding this particular subject but that’s just my own belief maybe the Bible doesn’t mean what it says so for instance
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 2:38 KJV
maybe we dont repent and get baptized in Jesus name for remission of sins and receive the Holy Spirit ….but I believe it’s true so I’m stuck on that I guess
