• Gen 2:9 . . And out of the ground made The Lord God to grow every tree that is
pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden.

The tree of life is sometimes assumed to be a source of life, but I rather think it's
intended to preserve life; for example:

• Rev 22:2 . . In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there
the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month:
and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

The tree is depicted in that passage as medication, i.e. a treatment for whatever ails
you.

• Rev 22:14 . . Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to
the tree of life

Mr. Adam failed to keep His commandments, and consequently he and his posterity lost
their right of access to the tree's healing properties.

• Gen 3:11-24 . . Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou
shouldest not eat? And the man said: The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she
gave me of the tree, and I did eat . . . So he drove out the man; and he placed at the
east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to
keep the way of the tree of life.

No --I don't think the tree is a healing of ills -------my view is this

The tree of life keeps you in the same Spiritual condition ----so if Adam and Eve had of eaten from the tree of life they would have remained Faithful to God and remained Spiritually connected to God --there would have been no need for an adversary -Satan to deceive Eve ---and no need for Jesus to have come and shed His Blood to cover all sin -----there would have been no sin committed -----Adam and Eve were Spiritually Connected to God and they would have remained same if they had eaten from the Tree of Life --------but as we know they didn't eat from that tree --they ate from the wrong tree and fell into sin for the whole world ----then if they had of eaten from the Tree of Life after they disobeyed God and were then separated from God that would have been their Spiritual Condition forever and we today would have had no Hope of ever reconnecting to God Spiritually again and we all would be doomed to hell

That is why God had to banish Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden and put angels and flaming swords around the Tree of life so no one could get to that Tree in their fallen Spiritual State -----this gave God the opportunity to put His plan in place to have His creation be able to rectify their fallen Spiritual State and be reconnected back to Him by and through His Son Jesus Christ ------

Genesis 3:24

Amplified Bible

24 So God drove the man out; and at the east of the Garden of Eden He [permanently] stationed the [a]cherubim and the sword with the flashing blade which turned round and round [in every direction] to protect and guard the way (entrance, access) to the tree of life.

the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month:

I don't think that once we shed this Body of corrupt flesh that we will experience and ills to be healed from in heaven ------so I don't think the healing Revelation is speaking of here is to do with physically healing of sickness or disease or ills ------it has everything to do with the people who reside there in heaven have been healed from their Spiritual maladies --the tree of life ---even the leaves ---keep us from Spiritual warfare from Satan ---Satan has no power or jurisdiction in heaven -----the souls of the nation are free from Spiritual harassment and torment from demons ------

One Opinion:

The Definition of the word Tree of life
Tree of life
Stood also in the midst of the garden of Eden (Gen. 2:9; 3:22). Some writers have advanced the opinion that this tree had some "secret virtue, which was fitted to preserve life. Probably the" "lesson conveyed was that life was to be sought by man, not in" "himself or in his own power, but from without, from Him who is" emphatically the Life (John 1:4; 14:6). Wisdom is compared to "the tree of life (Prov. 3:18). The "tree of life" spoken of in" "the Book of Revelation (Rev. 2:7; 22:2, 14) is an emblem of the" joys of the celestial paradise.

ANOTHER OPINION:

What Is the Tree of Life?
The tree of life appears in the Genesis narrative just after God has completed the creation of Adam and Eve. Then God plants the Garden of Eden, a beautiful paradise for the man and woman to enjoy. God places the tree of life in the middle of the garden.

Agreement among Bible scholars suggests that the tree of life with its central placement in the garden was to serve as a symbol to Adam and Eve of their life in fellowship with God and their dependence on him.

Immortality isn't a self-sustaining condition. I mean; look what happened to
Adam. He wasn't meant to live and die like a bug. Adam's life was meant to
be perpetual, and had he avoided the forbidden tree; Adam would be alive
today; in perfect health and just as youthful as the day God made him.

FAQ: Eve was the first to taste the forbidden fruit before giving some to her
husband. Supposing Adam declined; what would've happened to Eve.

REPLY: She'd still be alive today; in perfect health and just as youthful as the day
God formed her with material taken from Adam' body because it was God's
intention that mortality come to the world by means of a lone man's actions
just as it is God's intention that righteousness come to the world by means
of a lone man's actions. (Rom 5:17-19)

a quesiton of course.

Did adam need to eat from the tree of life every day to live? or jsut once. if just once then why hadnt he done that.

If every day then perhaps this also explains Jesus description of the LORDS prayer to be done DAILY

perhaps as jesus is called the tree of life. it was He who was in the midst of the Garden

And the other tree of knowledge of Good and Evil was satan himself.. who know. only God knows

.
According to Gen 3:22 and Rev 22:2, the tree of life isn't meant to be used
for food because it's medicinal, i.e. a remedy for whatever ails you. In that
respect, Adam would need to eat something from the tree only when he
needed treatment for something seriously wrong with him, e.g. Covid 19
and/or Monkeypox. But what Adam really needed right away was a cure for
mortality before the aging process began to take its toll on his looks and
his vitality.
