Here's one for ya. I'm looking forward to seeing how you'll wiggle out of it: "For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end."—Hebrews 3:14
There is no difficulty

You have moved away from the beginning of your confidence, how can say you are confident? to the end? but you say you don't know if you will be saved in the end. There is no steadfastness, ye are men of double mind, you are not certain.

I haven't moved away. My confidence was never in me. I never thought I could save myself.

But you wholly misunderstand the scripture you have quoted.

The partaking of Christ doesn't refer to salvation but to our daily walk and experience with Him. Our joy, the peace and satisfaction we have in Him. Our prayer life, our praise and adoration for Him. Our witnessing, our service, our fellowship with others.

That's what the writer means by being partakers of Christ. .... there are so many joyless, prayerless, unfruitful christians around.

And the most of them belong to the works for salvation camp.

Isn't it true we must be in Christ to be "saved?" Hebrews 3:14 says we are partakers of Christ if we're steadfast. It couldn't be simpler. Your arguments don't make a lick of sense.

Gee Willikers, Mr Wilson. Since I'm already saved and my salvation can't be taken from me, then I can do any nefarious deed, no matter how sinful. And why shouldn't I pleasure myself with all that this world offers? After all I'm saved, so I can have both this world and heaven too!!!!!!!!!!! How great is that? What a deal!!!!

Nothing is beyond my wildest desire now, as Michael Jackson's song went, "Don't Stop Til You've Had Enough'. Thanks to the doctrine OSAS, I can have it all and heaven too!!!!!!!!!!!! All the debauchery, pleasures, and hate toward all those I despise.
Not one person i know that is of the OSAS camp thinks or behaves that way.... I remember a million Sunday nights people getting resaved for their sins over the week..

good christian people dont lie
Really? Then why would John write about a sin which is NOT unto death? When good Christian people promote false teachings, that is essentially lying.

This is how a canal, fleshly mind thinks.

If someone is thinking like this It's a good indicator that one should examine themselves to see if they are indeed born again.

The born again child of God HATES sin, and is grieved when they commit sin.

well we die in Christ, we still belong to Him.

If we are crucified with Christ when we were saved we can't be uncrucified. As far as the devil and the world is concerned we are dead ... it now remains for us only to live unto God.

No one recorded in Scripture received the Holy Spirit (sealed by Him), and the Holy Spirit left them.

After conversion, we can grieve the Holy Spirit, but He will not leave us. In fact, the Bible says we are SEALED with the Holy Spirit.
The same word is used in Revelation by John, as he wept convulsively, because NO ONE could break the seals of the scroll. ONLY Jesus can break the seal.

A whole host of bad things can happen to the persistently disobedient child of God, that grieves the Holy Spirit. But one of them, is NOT the removal of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit CAME UPON Old Testament people, but not until Jesus' death and resurrection were people able to become born again and sealed with the Holy Spirit, as a GUARANTEE of eternity with Christ.

Samson is a good example of the H.S. coming upon, leaving, and then coming back at the end of his life, when his prayer was answered to give him super strength one last time.[/QUOTE
Luke 8
9And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? 10And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. 14And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. 15But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
Jesus clearly says that those along the side of the road did not get saved.
13. They on the rocks hear the word, receive the word with joy: But unfortunately they do not have a teacher to feed and nourish them so they do not grow good roots and fall away. Were they saved? I thank so can you show me where hearing and receiving the word does not = salvation
14. Here you have the same problem as those in the rocks they get saved but get drawn back into the world.
What about Matthew 7 Did we not do all these wonderful things in your name and Jesus tells them depart from Me for I knew you not.
This doctrine of once saved always saved

Justified by Faith
21But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

What does verse 25 say "FOR THE REMISSIONS OF SINS THAT ARE PAST. If we do sin and we are human so we will

What does verse 25 say "FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS PAST" Does this mean we will never sin again? NO we are human we live in flesh bodies Jesus was the only one to do that; So hat happens when we sin? We must repent and ask God for forgiveness, pick ourselves up knock the dust off the seat of our paints and get back to work. What happens if we don't repent those sins remain in the book, and you can lose your salvation.
Please let me know where in the bible you find this. God talked about backsliding Iseral throughout the Old Testament.

Galatians 5 2Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you. 3I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law. 4You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. 5For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness. 6For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.

The other Bible versions all say the same thing.
These are christians who were beguiled into believing they must be justified by the Law.
This is why Paul wrote so much about Judiazers' warning about them.

Beckie, you say that people are being 'resaved' for their sins. Why would they need to be resaved if they've already been saved and that that salvation can't be taken from them? OSAS is a one shot salvation, not a resaving, time after time.

This doctrine is new; it was never taught or even discussed prior to the 1830’s. It seems to have first come from a “prophetic vision” by Margaret Macdonald, a woman in 1830, who was a part of the cult group the “Irvingites,” while having an emotional experience. Through a “mingled prophecy and vision” (breakdown), and saying “the power of the Holy Spirit,” she came up with this. She was very ill and delusional according to physicians and learned observers at the time. How, how, how did this get to doctrinal status? In spite of her condition, people believed her. Not ministers trained in the Word, not those who were pious Christians, not those with discernment, but those seeking a new fad and emotional experience, just as so many do today. By the way, she was a cultist! Then another cult group in England picked this up by the name of “The Catholic Apostolic Church,” headed by Edward Irving (1792-1834). After that, another cult group called the “Millerites,” predicted the return of Christ on October 22, 1844. It did not happen; that should have been a clue, but this would not die.

At the same time, this belief was then picked up by Irish born minister, lawyer, evangelist and author, John N. Darby in 1930, who took this new fad to America in 1862 to 1877. He was looking for a “hook” in his motivational Bible speeches to attract crowds in England and on his visit to the Americas, USA, and Canada. People who knew him said he was not well schooled in the Bible or original languages, read into the Bible all kinds of ridiculous ideas. Many people today still believe in him.
What does the bible say?
Revelation 20.
4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

The Parable of the Weeds Explained
36Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. 37He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 38The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Verse 37. He that soweth the good seed is the SON OF MAN
Verse 38 What is the field? The world. If you do not want to believe that it is ok, just remember these are the words of Jesus. The good seed "wheat" are the children of the kingdom "GOD" The tears are the children of the wicked one. Who is the wicked one?
Verse 39 will tell us. Jesus said I will never leave you wanting "I have foretold you all things" The enemy that sowed them" the tares, the children of the wicked one" is the devil "Satan" The Harvest is the END OF THE WORLD the reapers are the angles.
Verse 40. As therefore the tares are gathered. Who does Jesus say is the first one taken from the field "the world" and burned in the fire so shall it be at the end of the world.
Verse 41. The Son of man "Jesus" sends his angles to gather out of the kingdom "the world" ALL things that offend, and them that do inequity
Verse 42. They shall be cast them into the furnace. I am going to get rid of them.
Verse 43. WHO IS Left? The righteous and they shell shine forth as the son in the kingdom of their Father.
NO WHERE in this does Jesus say there will be a pre, mid, post, rapture. There is no rapture at all ever.

What about good Christian people promoting Five Point Calvinism (as an example)? A false gospel is essentially a lie. If God offers salvation to all and you (meaning anyone) come along and say He does not, is that not a lie?
