I have this pipe dream of pooling money and resources with a large group of Christians to live more free and pure. As will maybe be essential for the faith to survive in the next 20-30 years. Any thoughts? Anyone have this same desire?

I have thought about this sometimes. If the prophecies in Revelation are literal, and assuming you believe mid- or post-trib, it would come in handy when we can't buy or sell without the mark.

How will we be able to pay yearly land taxes though? Will one poor guy have to take the mark to pay the land taxes for the rest of us?

Land tax avoidance is a simple matter. When you buy the land don't file the deed.

When you make the land deal tell the seller you require a warranty deed. This type deed guarantees the buyer there are no issues with the land at all. From its point of ownership in the past to the time of sale. No liens, etc....

https://www.compasslandusa.com/types-of-deeds/

The seller files the transfer paperwork which absolves them of ownership and title to the land.

The buyer not filing the deed guarantees it is truly private property. No taxes paid to the state.

These are the fine things that need to be discussed. Somewhere fertile of course.
Man that tax issue is a tough one tho. But come that time (M.O.B) paying taxes is the next to last thing id worry about. I wish i was born Amish, those folks got living figured out.....THEY dont pay taxes! Hmmmmmm.....

Sounds like a hippie compound.
A land of peculiar people, not hippies. We wouldn't be growing opium or anything lol. Corn/wheat (for livestock&bread) Various veggies.
I'll tell you something the devil hates, people who don't rely on an established system for support. He hates entrepreneurship. He likes to have control and influence, this would be about getting away from the sin of the culture and securing the blessings of the earth that God put here for all who are willing to do the fulfilling work.

My fam lives in P.A and my uncle does not care for the Amish, taxes is one of the reasons he gave me.
Maybe he was misinformed?

These articles are saying they apparently do pay quite a bit in taxes.

I don't think that Utopia exists in this troubled world.

Who would benefit outside the compound from the blissful environment enjoyed by those inside of it?

If we stay in Him we are already in a sort of protected compound as He promises to protect His own, and that is without mention of a specific locality.

It poses an interesting question as to whom God would want those in the bubble to be reaching out to and serving.

Or would it be another Noah's Ark situation, leaving all outsiders to fend for themselves?

Jesus died to give us Holy Spirit to guide us in ALL truth, everything, everywhere, all the time.
TOO MANY who believe they are "Christian" aren't really as they are still leaning on their own understanding.
Just east of me is a great little property coming up for sale , a house, barn, small field, 10 acres (?) maybe.
Cheap property here. A guy in town bought a house, had it paid off in a year.

I have the duality of it being a selfish thing to do, if we were to not go out into the world to reason with consciences of people for Christ's sake. I'm more than certain we would be able to serve out of the abundance of the situation if there was any. My flesh would want to shut the gate and never go out. But I love people, I love doing things for them and providing.

I thought maybe Jonestown Guyana....

but see, that fell apart because the people werent actually rich enough to break even or make it pay, and I, not even going to mention what else went down there

and nobody is going to sell already fertile land for cheap.

also, a commune is not entrepeuneurial, it will eventually turn into a dictatorship when some crazy person, ( and it just takes ONE nut) who thinks he or she is the guru of it....

the other is gated christian retirement community with a swimming pool.

But you have to be over 65. But that just means you employ someone younger and for minimum wage to do all the maintenance cos over 65s dont want to work anymore, they wanna be free
