I'm confident, to the point my husband says I have an intimidating presence - especially men find me "intimidating", he says.
So, I have a supermarket near me that I literally go to every day because it's only about 2 minutes from my house, and it carries the items that I'm actually looking for (and at a good price, too).
Well, unbeknownst to me until recently, one of my 16-year-old daughter's friends who is a male works there, and he apparently sees me come into the store rather frequently.
He recently told my daughter that he's afraid of me, and that I have "a menacing walk".
I was like "WHAT?!?"
"A menacing walk"?
I'm just a happy-go-lucky (just a phrase...I don't believe in luck) sort of guy who just struts along in a very casual manner.
Anyhow, she and he have had some back and forth since I expressed my initial shock at what he said, and he's sticking to his guns.
I guess that people just see other people however they see them...even if it's in no way an actual reflection of who or what they are.
Ready for the big shocker?
My daughter just told me a couple of days ago that she agrees with him. Yep. She said that she'd be afraid of me, too, if I wasn't her father.
Whatever...
