salvation first given by Christ, works afterwards...

Ephesians 2:10

10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

True but salvation is impossible without the presence of the Holy Spirit to bring us into faith through the power of conviction helping us to realize in our hearts that we are sinners in dire need of a Saviour. If I were to list one condition to Eternal Security, it would have to be the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, that same Spirit which inhabited and empowered Christ then raised Him from the dead. Of course, the bible teaches us that the only way we can know for certain that a person is inhabited by the indwelling Christ is by one's fruit. The fruit of the Holy Spirit are the evidences in which we can that a person is inhabited by the Holy Spirit.

that is why the Holy Spirit is so important. because words can be twisted and perverted to fit the lies uttered by the flesh and demons but the Holy Spirit will shine light upon the matter and show people what GRACE really is.

lol I tell people its not free but paid for by Jesus Christ for your sins. That is a high and noble sacrifice of love. However I tell them it is a GIFT and there is nothing they can do to earn it but simply say thank you and receive it. That is what gifts are meant to be, no strings attached. unconditional love. grace a gift that was bought and given by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ;)
Yes! This is why I am so harsh when people try to make this unmerited favor from God through faith in the death of his son become merited (earned) by being baptized in water, Going to church, Taking communion (eucharist or normal), Obaying the works of the law (commands or not sinning) confessing every sin in order to be restored to salvation, enduring, or "love" or any other works of righteousness we may do in order to earn Gods love.

Instead of realizing those who are saved, and Have God's Holy Spirit WILL do these things, and be chastened by God if they are lacking in any of these areas.

i actually find it appalling that anyone would think they could do anything to make up for sin and earn the grace of God. Where is the humility? And how possibly could we ever do anything which we think would have God look at us and say because you have done this, you have earned the right to spend eternity to me. Especially when we really look at what God thinks of any and ALL sin.

I think it is you that doesnt understand. The works spoken of here is works of the law outside of faith
This is a lie propagated by satan to distort the truth and get people to try to work their way to earn Gods grace.

Grace is unmerited. Not by works of righteousness which WE HAVE DONE (Our own good deeds, whether of the law or not) He saved us by the washing of regeneration performed by the Holy spirit. This means any good deeds. not just the law!

hmm. So if I am a believer, and not under blessing but under chasticement to get me to return. What kind of Light can I show to the world? Seems like it would be extinguished. And I could do nothing for God.

But where does it say the church stops being the church, or the people stop being children of God?

Seems you do not know the reasoning behind the prodigal son. Who left and had nothing. and because of it could do nothing. Yet he never stopped being the son!

If we look at the standard of grace its standard is way more toughter than teh law,in the old testiment to commit adultry u actually had to do the act and in the the new testiment even the thought would make you one..Grace of God is not just a gift its the empowering power of God that made alive cuz we were dead. The fruit of Grace is a Godly life, working for the kingdom of God and if he falls, the grace will pick him up reminding him the goodness of God which leads to repentence..Now in saing this just because i have this grace or have an understanding of this grace can i live like the world, act like the world NO,
we may call our self a beleiver and love God but trying to defend our adultery, fornication, idol worship, murder ,witchcraft, hate ,strife luke warmness no desire to pray and say am safe with Jesus..either we have a wrong understanding of Jesus and our conversion is not genuine or we have been fooled..
we did nothing to receive this grace and can do nothing to earn it,it was paid by the death of God only begotten son Jesus...these are the days even the elect are being deceived and the love of the many are goin wax cold because we have lost sight of the fear of the living God.

I do not judge on where we all stand before God,but if we are truly saved we will bear fruit we wil gloryfy God,we will serve him with all of our heart,i dont want to be found luke warm in that day,i dont want to be vomited out or be counted as goat and not sheep ..
i pray that we would learn to love and if anyone is falling away wed have a heart to stand by them and show his goodness

I went to a church who actually taught this once. How untrue this false doctrine is. and how destructive it can be!
Yes, things get so out of hand. I never went to a church like thank God. That's a church that cripples people. It's much better to stay with the word of God that yes things will happen because we live in world where so many things are wrong but if we keep our focus on the fact that God lives right inside of us and we must call on him all the time we will be victorious.

First you said no conditions, and then in the next sentence you say there is only one condition. So what is it none or one? I'd say there are even more
One way it could be stated is we must except the free gift that has been given us by the fact that Jesus went to the cross for us. Red is on your side of trying to preach Christ. I don't see the point of trying to go against him.

So God is preaching a works based Gospel. and not a grace based? How can we call salvation by grace when it has to be earned?

And how can anyone think they would ever earn their salvation by doing ANYTHING?

No one does earn Salvation. That's the point, it's free by the blood of Jesus. I think this whole point is just why so many never ever come to truly know God. They go to a place in their mind of I can't be saved I must do something to earn it. That's just where Satan wants their mind to go.
We are a work for it and then you get world in some form. Even as little children some still teach if you want your allowance you must do your work for it. You don't get things for free you know.
If someone came up to give you a gift, they handed it to you.......right away you'd think what in the world did I do to deserve this gift. Why did they give me a gift. Like we shouldn't be able to be given something just because.
Lots of people are running around thinking they couldn't possibly be saved because their not good enough. I can't be saved because I did this wrong, I did this wrong no I can't be saved.
That is also a big reason why so many don't have faith.
The falling away and turning the back on God and never trusting God is another matter.
It is all about the free gift from God, by his grace we are saved. The blood which isn't talked about too much these days.

Its sad but true Linda. People need to remember that God loves THEM and to doubt that is to doubt God's love and mercy and grace. People need to know what unconditional love is and the only way for them to believe in God's UNCONDITIONAL Love is if they experience it by someone in their life who has experienced it first hand at the foot of Our Savior. We touch people's lives by loving them unconditionally and giving them unmerited gifts just because we love them not because we expect them to ever repay or even thank us for it. :)

here's a question: At Christmas time do you teach your children about Santa Claus that only bring gifts to good little boys and girls or about Jesus who died to save the world and was born as a child and grew in the Spirit and wisdom of God just as they can as well for the Glory of their Heavenly Father?

Luke 2:40
And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.

Salvation by works is a false gospel. it was tought by Babylon at the tower of babel, it was taught in the early church by some of the phariees who were converted, it was taught by Babylon (Papacy) in the dark ages, but the Bible says that Babylon is fallen from truth
Then James 2:24 is a false gospel, and you are free to decide for yourself what you believe the Bible says and what you want the Bible to say. You are then, like Martin Luther, free to add the word "alone" to the text of Romans 3:28, and thus to falsify the text of James 2:24. You are free to follow yourself as an authority, like Martin Luther did, when asked why he was adding words to the text of the New Testament, Luther replied, "I will have it so. It is so because I will have it so. It is true, because I, Dr. Martin Luther, say it is so."
Prima Luther. Mainly Luther. Sola Luther. By Martin Luther alone. Not by the NT alone, together with the OT. But by Luther's added word, added by the "authority" of "Herr Doctor Martin Luther", the word "alone" added to St. Paul in Romans 3:28. Go figure!

Just because God's love is unconditional, that does not mean that salvation is. While salvation is indeed the work of the Holy Spirit and not the work of man, one must surrender to the call to the Holy Spirit to be saved. The same holds true through out our Christian walk. The role of the Holy Spirit is to clean us up and lead us into Christ likeness, to become an "over comer". That is the will of God for every believer however, this can not be accomplished if the so called believer continually refuses to yield to the call of the Holy Spirit. Now God is more than willing to forgive when we are willing to yield to the Holy Spirit through repentance however, if we continue to refuse to repent, the Holy Spirit can and will abandon you to a reprobate mind per Romans chapter 1.

I have found in numerous cases that the doctrine of Unconditional Eternity Security produces religious sinners consumed with religious pride under the assumption that they can now live however they like without regard for God, salvation or the Holy Spirit. This mindset is an absolute abomination in comparison to scripture.

Jesus didnt say could fall or might fall, He said they already fell.
If they didnt repent they would lose their witness and usefullness.
Why? becuase they left their first love.

They were doing all the works a church could do, they failed in no work.

Salvation is a gift with the seed first planted when the word of God is heard. Jesus tells us what happens to 3/4ths of the seeds:

Luke 8
11 “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. 14 Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. 15 But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.

after the seed is planted it needs to be watered and nurtured and spend time in the Light of God to mature properly and bear fruit worthy of repentance. Godly repentance must first make a humble and contrite heart before the seed of salvation can take root and grow.

I couldn't agree more. However, the simple truth is that there are people out their who believe that they are saved not because they have embraced Jesus in their hearts but because they have embraced bad doctrine in their minds and they will most likely find themselves on the wrong side of eternity because of it.

Many people do this for the very reason you state. I am saved but I still fail. so why bother. so they walk away thinking God could never love them. Because they never learned who and what God is. This is why legalistic thinking is so dangerous!
