Well it seems I have plenty of men whom seem to be interested in me. But it has been almost 13 yr.s since I have gone on a first date. My main thing is to give God control of the decisions. Many as I walk about cleaning all day I can see how they react and shows alot on their character and it many times is not Godly character. I will not settle for anyone who does not put God first and understands Godly morals. I maybe single for quite awhile. But am not rushing into any crazy relationship. I am not really looking for anything but friendship atm. Oh and they have to like fishing, just saying, lol!

Good for you(I know that’s an overused saying). Yes, I can tell you from experience that being unevenly yoked brings about….well disaster. Have fun, and make sure he opens the door for you. 👍🏻

Well that excludes me. I hate fishing.

I love eating fish though. I just hate the tedium involved in getting them out of the water.

Well I'd say you've come to the right place. This is more a discussion forum for single Christians (and these days we have a few formerly single people who came here when single and never left as well as visitors from other CC forums) to talk about all those things that affect life as a single that people who aren't single don't get or just those things we want to talk about, but don't have anyone living with us to talk about them with. We're pretty laid back and chill around here for the most part; though we do get the usual dating topics and complaints from time to time.

All that to say welcome, we're glad you found us and no one here is going to try to push you back into the dating pool before you're ready (some of us just don't bother so we won't have much advice about starting to date again, but we've got lots of experience in living as a single person and how to do that).

I actually used to be a mod years back on Christian Chat. Will not say where or when. I know all about forums etc. Not much has changed. Except they want to charge you for everything on most of these. One thing have learned also too be more understanding and understand I don't know everything and never will. That and to see others through God's eyes . Keeps me quiet alot ;)

Well that would be nice and a compliment also. Both are free and believe me a real blessing to me.

I dont think everyone can ever know everything!
what kind of fishing do you do...river, sea, off a wharf, boat or surfcasting?

I am very partial to seafood especially crayfish, but I keep my feet firmly in the land so the only seafood I gather would be cockles and seaweed from the beach.

My mum used to say I ought to marry a crayfish man, but it hasnt turned out that way. (way to Lanolins heart, feed her crayfish. hint hint) though I enjoy being single and just save my pennies to buy a crayfish meal every now and again.

I dont really think about dating that much, I just go out with friends. Its easier. AM sorry to hear about bad marriages. A lot of single people at church are recovering from bad marriages. and then theres those whove never been married, like me. From the friends Ive made, nobody has ever pressured me to go dating.

it tends to be 'clueless' workmates that think just cos Im single, I'm theirs for the taking. This used to be a big hassle for me, till I just learned to, well not totally ignore the pleas, but just kindly let them know Im not interested. Then they can just talk to me like a well, NORMAL person instrad of trying to chat me up lol

I just love fishing. Where I am at in the states I live near rivers and lakes. I mainly fish offshore and bottom fish . I am not really looking just the ones where I clean seem to have a few interested in me. But I am looking for friendship. I just seem to get along better with men. I think we have alot of the same interest. I like fishing, sports and can fix alot of things usuallu men here do. I use youtube to help me repair plumbing, make cellar doors, replace floors, fix my car etc. Not really into whet they consider girlie things here. Unless it's cooking and finding bargains.
That's the thing that helps though, understanding that I do not need a mate to be content and happy. I have God in my life and family and friends. Oh and cannot forget my cats , 2 ornery furballs. I do believe men and women can be friends. I also think they should be best friends as husband and wife. So for now I don't get into too many conversation's with men who want more than just friendship. Dating will come when it is right. Atm enjoying being sinlge.

Was I here back then? If I was... Uh... Don't believe anything you think you remember about me. Yeah, that was... Um... Someone else under a similar nick, yeah.

interesting
I once started a thread on friends, and some men posted they just didnt have any friends at all.

yet they wanted a girlfriend (just ONE)

The other thing I suggested on this forum was that we change the name of singles forum to friends forum, but the mods just ignored me.

So there seems to be quite a lot of barriers to men and women being friends even on something as simple as a forum. Even when I checked out a Quakers meeting, which is known as 'religious society of friends' and they call themselves friends, I noticed that they DID divide themselves off into separate womens group.

I asked why do you have a group just for women? The women replied, well if the men want their own group they can make their own. lol

I will not say on which network I was a Mod. My younger years of worrying more about too many little things.

I enjoy fishing, but have to say it is so calm and peaceful many times. Perhaps why I prefer to bottom fish. Grab a grub or nightcrawler or even a crawdad toss the line in and let it sit. There is alot you will notice at times you may not of seen when some are always in a hurry.

When I do nothing I get dangerous , as my mind goes wandering and starts planning .
I need to keep busy and focussed

. If I have spare time I listen to expositions of the bible books

I never listen to topical sermons , just not my thing

So sitting patiently is not my thing
Pray for God to give me patience , but tell him to hurry up lol

Well I will listen to music as I fish sometimes. I had alot of urgency through the years to find a mate , to find a job, etc. My decisions proved a hurried decision. Plus I am mildly ADHD ,but have learned to use it for God's glory and not something to demeans my capacity to do great things.
God recently told me to be still. So atm I am content where he has me in all things. I know I would like to know why or when or how on many things. Placing everything daily in his hands has proved to do far better things than me hurrying and trying to fix it myself. Move when I need to move, but being still and letting God is needed too, amen.

God hadn’t told me if I will find a friend who would become special
but seems internet is the place to find them as the four I chatted to so far I not sure in the end they were real People
so no Christian girls in the country I live in

So let’s see God do a miracle

what

I was just reading about these online adult chat rooms
they are run by human traffickers and girls get paid to spend all day online, the longer you are online the more you get paid because men are paying a sub to go into those chatrooms.

I mean thats how they can spend all day chatting cos they do it for a living...literally chained to a computer most people have actual jobs they do all day that are NOT online. Jobs for girls like washing dishes and cleaning and cooking and laundry and sewing and stuff like that....

as that is what they'll often end up doing if they get married....

I guess it is what some people are looking for. I am just looking for Christians to convey with and is interesting reading some of the threads on here. Especially when other countries are involved. I have a few friends I have met I found on a christian chat. One friend I have known for at least 15+ yr.s . There are so many scammers and other people online. I really do not get to close too to many online.
At my age mainly am leary they would try to take advantage of me. For me though with Godly discernment I am careful.
Sadly in the real world you have to be concerned whom is genuine also and who is not. If someone seems interested I would be like the FBI looking them up online. I had an old friend from school seemed really interested in an old picture of my niece when she was 4 . Something felt off looked him up and found he was a child predator. Needless to say I strayed away from him. Wisdom in all things.

If you like fishing then you probably won't have any trouble finding a guy LOL. You just need a guy who is a 'fisher of men'.
