A prophet, someone that professes God and His ways into everyday life, is not without honour except in their own household, where their faith message is generally disbelieved and ignored.
Jesus said that He hasn't come to bring unity into a household, but to cause division. He also indicated that all those that do the will of His Father in Heaven are His true family.
The only thing we can do is always walk uprightly towards those on the outside, to the unsaved, by being consistently Christ-like in our attitudes and behaviour. As the apostle said, it is by our chaste behaviour that we might cause someone to consider Christ.
I've had/am having the same dilemma as you BAL, and it sounds like for about the same length of time.
As harsh as this may sound, my preference now is for social interaction with my brothers and sisters in the Lord, over that which I have with my flesh and blood family. I've let go of the anxiety I used to have about unsaved family and friends, realising that they are making their choices from their own free will. I also recognise since it's not God's will that anyone be lost, He will continue to reach out to them, I just need to be ready to give an account of the hope that is within me, if asked.
I get on well with my unsaved family and friends, but I refuse to participate in or agree with any POV that is ungodly.
