I have spent months trying to figure out why I have all my life felt like God hated me. I have begged and begged him to love me. Someone was telling me about Calvinism and it finally dawned on me. I am not one of the elected. I am running into a brick wall because I was not predestined, not chosen. No matter how hard I try, God simply does not want me. It all makes so much sense now. What a crappy feeling. Good luck to the rest of you. Must be nice.

Well friend, God determines the elect, we know not the thoughts of God save those written down, I believe you will find this loss or pain temporary, do as commanded, God is clear that those who follow him faithfully will be saved. And on a final note, I have never met a Christian who from birth knew they were among the elect.

God loves you very much. You need to control you mind. When those ugly thoughts come to you then you need to say out loud God loves me. Sounds like there a problem of you not loving you.
Don't be a victim of your wrong thoughts. You must decide what you are going to live in.

Hmm tearose, it is God's will that all are saved. He simply knows who is going to respond and who isn't. ANYONE who calls on the name of Jesus will be saved. If you simply believe in your heart that the sacrifice that God has done by sending His own Son to be the replacement of the punishment for our sins, and if you believe in your heart that He was raised from the dead, your sins are FORGIVEN.

I will give you two reasons why you probably don't "feel" anything, even though we shouldn't guide ourselves by feelings because they are deceiving and they might not be based on truth.

Reason 1. You probably are practicing sin, meaning that there is something that you know to be wrong even according to the scripture and you still do it, and that is keeping the power of God from working in your life
Reason 2. You haven't really understood what it is to believe in God.

-Believing in God isn't just some knowledge in your head that you know of. Believing in God requires your whole life, mind, soul, heart and body.

-You see, God created you, there simply is no other scientific explanation to our existence.
God's word, through archeology, prophecy, history, the billions of lives completely changed, and the many miraculous sings seen in the body of Christ, confirm the word of God to be truly His word.

-Now, if you believe His word is true, then you also believe that God loves ALL humanity so much that He sent His only son, His most beloved, to be a sacrifice for the sins of ALL, NONE are excluded

-Now, to apply this knowledge to your life in your mind there must always be two things that you remember; the price and the object. The price it took for us to be forgiven was none other than God Himself, dying for ALL of us, THIS is the biggest sign of love in the whole universe. The object that kept us away from Him is our sin, therefore He sacrificed Himself to clean our slate and to restore a relationship with the Father.

God has shown you He loves you by giving His own life for you and by giving you His word. The commands that He has given us to follow are given to us in pure love, because when we stay away from them we are rejecting God's power and are destroying ourselves while we sin. But don't forget that if you understand that whatever sin you are practicing is displeasing to God and harmful to you, and you agree with God that you don't want to do it anymore, He will give you the power to overcome it. But it takes diligence in seeking Him through His word and through prayer in every situation.

Lastly, following God is a complete submission of a person to the will of God. That means that you will trust God completely through every situation through the guiding of His Holy Spirit and His word. And to know if you have really been born again and have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you, then this will be your litmus test.

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

If you truly confess your sins to God, ALL of them, and repent from them and in your heart are longing to please God in everything you can, then these things are going to be manifested in you and will be the testimony that you truly are His. God has already loved you so much, just so much that no one can understand. It is our responsibility to accept His love and to act upon it.

The elect are mighty men of God.., God has chosen their paths and as wonderful as it may sound its a really rough trot

They are tested in fires of extreme temperatures., their trials and temptations are like others couldnt imagine

Seeek ye God with all your heart and when he hears you rejoice in him and know that he is Lord

Know that all he expects is your love., that you let the fruits of the spirit flow and keep a relationship with him

Why listen to John Calvin anyway? Seek ye God and listen to him and hjim alone., Seek ye the blood covenant of Christ that he laid down his life for you

Im sure many of the elct wish they were as the others.., that God doesnt expect much from

Be as the sower.., sow the good seed of the word of God in your mind and treasure them in your heart

The mind is a battlefield., keep it fixed on the promises of God.

Sow the Good seed and let it grow into fruition

God love you so much For God so loved the World... The Bible says that if you were the only human on earth God would have sent his son anyways... He is smitten in love with you... The bible says that he thinks about you 36 times every second.... Any one who tells you that God doesn't is a liar and is not in the light... God loves you so much that you cant even begin to understand it with your Head.

do not listen to your mind.

have you cried LORD, SAVE ME?

He said He WILL!...don't you believe Him?

here is the Gospel message...it is not your faithfulness...it is Christ's.

you are a sinner like all of us. no hope outside what Christ has done and what God has promised.

you can not do ANYTHING to please God besides believing and trusting His Own Testimony of WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR YOU.

there is NOTHING you must do to please God except receive what He has provided (a substitutionary sacrifice for our sin) - JESUS, His Son.

if you love Jesus, God loves you. if you love Jesus IT IS BECAUSE GOD LOVES YOU.
if you love Jesus, it is BECAUSE GOD HAS GIVEN YOU THE HEART TO LOVE HIM.

God delivered up Jesus to be killed in OUR PLACE....if He was willing to do that, isn't He willing to save you? YES HE IS!

and He raised Him from the dead for OUR ETERNAL LIFE....that means HEAVEN...for YOU!

you can not be good enough. that's the whole point. NOT ONE OF US IS (not even that crackpot hyper-calvinist that was stupid enough to say such a thing).

we don't deserve any of what He has done, we deserve death and hell. ALL OF US.
but GOD DOESN'T WANT THAT FOR US.

it's not about you being good enough. it's about Jesus being perfect. if you believe what God has said and done, He considers you perfectly right before Him because Jesus traded places with you - your sin He paid for, His righteousness you receive. you're still not righteous enough. BUT HE DECLARES THAT YOU ARE.

Romans 3
God Gives Us Righteousness through Faith
21 But now, apart from the law, God's righteousness is revealed and is attested by the Law and the Prophets— 22 God's righteousness through the faithfulness of Jesus the Messiah— for all who believe. For there is no distinction among people, 23 since all have sinned and continue to fall short of God's glory.

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

friend, find a simple country preacher who will tell you the simple Good News message.
that's all you need. nothing more. hear it every day until you understand it.

believe you are a sinner, believe Christ died for sinners.
believe He is able to forgive.
believe what He has said.

peace, friend...peace.

Well you can believe that garbage can full of lies from the pit of hell OR you can believe what God's words says about you. Have you read it? You are the apple of His eye! He came to earth and shed His blood for YOU so that YOU could be with Him. You have been deceived and tricked by the devil himself for he has gotten you to believe lies about both yourself AND GOD.

Say this out out: "In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I commond spirits of deception, self-pity, rebellion, rejection, anger and pride to leave me NOW. Holy Spirit, reveal to me the reason and CAUSE (Porv 26:2) that these thoughts come to be and what doors I need to close to the enemy. Reveal any sin that I have not confessed and any generational curses that I might be under. I thank you in Jesus' Name."
Now...get in the Word, Stay in the Word, pray in the Spirit DAILY and become the overcomer you were created to be!!!

OH...and have you ASKED Jesus to be your Lord and Savior?? Have you committed your life to Him? Are you born again? For if you are not, you belong to the devil and he WILL wreak havoc with your emotions for his goal is to kill you BEFORE you can become an instrament and vessell for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Tearose84 do you believe God's word?

You said, "I have spent months trying to figure out why I have all my life felt like God hated me. I have begged and begged him to love me."

God's word says, John 3:16 God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

You also expressed concern that, "I am not one of the elected. I am running into a brick wall because I was not predestined, not chosen."

God's word says in Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." This scripture tells me that God has chosen each of us for a special purpose.

Again I ask you, Do you believe God's word?
You state, " No matter how hard I try, God simply does not want me. It all makes so much sense now. What a crappy feeling."

God's word states, in Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast.

God wants you. God chose you before you were born. He is the giver of salvation because he loves you. Let me encourage you to memorize the word. Believe... use the faith that God has placed in you. Don't "buy" the deception Satan is "feeding" you. Never doubt for a minute the God of creation takes a personal interest in you, his treasured child.

My prayers are with you.

Tearose, prayer, or rather once response to prayer, can be classified into two categories-consolation and desolation. Consolation is the really great feeling and satisfaction that can go with prayer. You can really feel God's presence and hear Him speaking to you. Often times you experience it or see it on retreats-people can feint, break down crying, or speak in tongues. Or it doesnt have to be as dramatic it can just be the feeling of God's presence. This consolation is a wonderful thing but it cannot last forever. It's opposite is desolation.
Desolation is a dry prayer that almost feels forced. God seems distant and you feel alone or even inadequate-especially when you hear of how wonderfully God is acting in others' lives.
However this is not the case. You are never alone and your prayers even if you experience desolation are still valuable and heard and answered by God.
In fact, desolation is a SIGN OF SPIRITUAL MATURITY. This may seem difficult to understand at first but think about it this way. When you plant a flower it will bloom and give off wonderful colors and smells. But its bloom does not last forever. When the flower finally wilts this does not mean that it is worthless, rather it is entering a different stage in its cycle. Not it must grow roots so that it can have to strength to last the winter or until it blooms again. Consolation is the bloom and period where it is colorful and smells nice. Desolation is is time when you grow rooted in Christ and is even more important to your walk in Christ than consolation. secondly, it would be wrong to expect consolation every time we pray. If this was the case, then how much less exciting it would be. It is not possible to have consolation everytime we pray because we need to grow rooted in Christ first. Mother Theresa, one of the holiest people of our time wrote in her diary about experiencing desolation for more than 50 years! Yet she soldiered on.
So don't lose faith and continue to pray for Gods will in your life. He wants you to be in Heaven with Him. That is the very purpose of our creation. So don't give up on Him, He will never give up on you.

That predestination interpretation is not true, and it is sad that some people might believe it,and then not even try to live for God thinking they were not elect,in which that wrongful doctrine is losing some souls,in which those who preach it and influenced people to not even try to live for God will be held accountable.

God said that He is not willing that any should perish but all come to repentance and be saved.

The Bible says Jesus lights every person that is born in this world, which Jesus is the light of the world,so everybody has a chance to see the light of Jesus and be saved, and no matter how much darkness a person is in the light of Jesus can reach them.

How can God pick and choose who will be saved, without participation of the person, when Jesus came and preached that all people have to repent of their sins, and the Bible says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,and God said, there is none that doeth good,no not one,and Paul said what makes you different from another person, and God is no respecter of persons but has the same love for everybody, and if you do not repent of your sins you will perish,so how are the people who say they are elect, picked by God beforehand special and different from those they say God did not pick,if they are in the same boat and a sinner like those they say God did not pick, and the Bible says all sin is unrighteousness, and if all are sinners and all sin is unrighteousness, putting everybody in the same boat and on the same level as not being right with God on this earth, then why did God choose some and not choose some without their participation when all are equal and sinners in God's eyes, which would also show not fair play and not love on God's part if it were true this predestination interpretation.

We need common sense, and it goes against the operation of God of His love and fair play, and this predestination interpretation goes against God's nature,so you have to understand what it truly means predestination.

The truth about predestination.

The Bible says that God calls things that have not yet happened as though they already happened, which means if God has a plan in His mind to happen in the future,it is the same as if it already happened before it actually happened, for it will surely come to pass, and God already had all things pertaining to the future that would happen according to His will in His mind before He laid down the foundation of the world,so it is the same as if all those events already happened in the beginning.

So all things pertaining to the future according to the will of God was already planned out and in God's mind before He laid down the foundation of the world,so it is the same as if all the future happened in the beginning, for God calls things that have not yet happened as though they already happened.

The Bible says that the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world, although we know it did not happen until 4000 years later.

Jesus prayed as a man to the Father if the saints could have the same glory that He has that He had in the beginning, although the man Christ Jesus did not receive that glory until 4000 years later, which is eternal life in heaven and a glorified body, and Jesus prayed if the saints could have that same glory, eternal life and a glorified body.

When the Bible says that the saints are predestined to salvation,it means that God already had the plan to give mankind salvation before He laid down the foundation of the world,so it is the same as if the saints already have salvation in the beginning, but that salvation is to mankind in general.

did you ever stop and listen when He said "I do love you" ? or did you yell in His face "you are a liar! I'm going to believe this lie that tells me its not my fault for not believing you. Its your fault."

GOD loves you, even when you don't believe and call Him a liar.

He wrote you a love letter, will you read it?

Dear Tearose84. It would be wise not to give into despair and rush to judgment. There is more hope for you, however, if you are not wise in your own eyes. Your humility is good. Just don't let it go too far into despair. God loves you. God does want you. He wants all people to be saved (2 Peter 3:9). He that cometh unto Christ, Christ will in no wise cast out. There is therefore no condemnation for all those who are in Christ Jesus. Please don't rely on your feelings. Faith is not a feeling. It's "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Heb. 11:1). God will save you. Just let Him love you. He isn't going to condemn you. You believe in Him. You can find mercy from Him. In this life, we may not find complete certainty of salvation, but we should not however fall into despair and just give up. We are to work out our salvation in Christ with fear and trembling. God will save us. It's up to Him. We should rely on His mercy, and not give up. If we repent with all of our hearts, He will not reject us. Quit listening to Calvinism: It's a heresy! God bless you. In Erie PA Scott R. Harrington

What makes you believe that God does not want you? Is it a certain feeling you get, or that your prayers are not answered, or that people treat you bad? Maybe things have gone very wrong in your life?

None of these mean anything whether or not God wants you to be His.

He does.

I can only say that if you want to be saved, it is because God has already moved on and in your heart.

One of the reason that we can feel that God hates us or is not pleased with us is because we have been rejected many times by those close to us and that kind of belief has been reinforced to us in childhood and over many years. Whether it be an issue with our natural father, or some other authority figure, when we are rejected and that rejection compounds, we find ourselves in a place where feel worthless and no good, we even reject ourselves "there must be something wrong with me... I am wrong" guilt is a wrongness of doing, shame is a wrongness of being. When we are cloaked in shame we feel we are unlovable, and although God loves us very much, we do not see it, and in this very wounded state we interpret many things that happen to us as signs confirming this self belief. Truth is we are very acceptable and very worthy if we have trusted in the sacrifice that Christ made for us. He died so that we could be acceptable, and be made acceptable - end of story. It can take time to be healed and restored from such hurt, pain and rejection - even after we accept Christ! It is a process of reconditioning your mind, and allowing your heart to be healed. Counselling is very important, because a lot of the time we dont find we have the tools to dig ourselves oiut of the pit we are in, it take others. Surround yourself with those that are positive, and those that have good self worth, and find good reliable leaders that will speak good things into your life and commit to the restoration process in your life. First step is to realise the problem, then at least you know the truth and even when you feel the complete opposite you can say "even though I dont feel it, and everything in my head and my emotions tell me im not worthy or loved, I know that I AM loved" (Because Gods word says so.) Hold on to that belief, and pray that God will lead you to those that can help. If we have rejection issues we will even read the bible incorrectly and see only wrath, or love that applies to others be not to us. I pray that your heart would become whole, and that Jesus would continue this process of restoration, so that you can be free. The fact that your speaking up and crying out tells me that He has already committed to bringing you through, so trust Him to finish what He has started.

The Lord doesn’t play favorites. He loves us all and will reward us all according to our deeds.
