Ruslan has an interesting clip of how Dollar felt about those who didn’t tithe. Check out what Dollar said about twenty-five seconds into the video.

“We’d point uh, uh, uh Uzzi’s right at all those non-tithing members cause we want God to come to church. And at the count of three Jesus’s, we’d shoot ‘em all dead. And then we’d take ‘em out the side door there, have a big hole, bury them, and go ahead and have church and have the anointing.”

Wow! This, my friends, is why Jesus said in Matthew 12:35-37: “The good person brings good things out of his good treasury, and the evil person brings evil things out of his evil treasury. I tell you that on the day of judgment, people will give an account for every worthless word they speak. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” (NET).

There needs to be a puke emoji for rating his remarks. 🤮 Wolves always show their teeth don't they.

To whom it may concern: Give it your best shot. You'll never be able to make a convincing case for New Testament tithing. But good luck with that.
actually Jesus does confirm tithe giving.
Matthew 32:23
23 “Woe to you, Torah scholars and Pharisees, hypocrites! You tithe mint and dill and cumin, yet you have neglected the weightier matters of Torah— justice and mercy and faithfulness. It is necessary to do these things without neglecting the others.

this portion (It is necessary to do these things without neglecting the others) shows us Jesus is saying tithing is as equally important as justice/mercy/faithfulness. notice Jesus says (It is necessary to do these things). so Jesus says tithing is necessary as is being just, merciful, and faithful.

Yeah, He was talking to people who were under the law. Try again.

i personally follow 2nd cor 9:
6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully.
7 Let each one give as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion—for God loves a cheerful giver.

it's true we don't see any example of tithing being done in the new testament. it's true we find tithing in the "law." but abraham, isaac, and jacob were not of the "law" and more like the new testament, based upon how Jesus explains in john 8. and we see they were faithful tithers. i believe intelligent people use the example of abraham, isaac, and jacob when it comes to tithing.
With respect to you, there is nothing in Scripture supporting the idea that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were "faithful tithers".

According to Scripture...

Abraham tithed once, on the spoils of war.

There is no record that Isaac ever tithed.

There is no record that Jacob, though he promised to do so, ever tithed.

Under the Law, tithing was not voluntary, but rather required.

When one is doing what is required, he is not "giving". You can surrender your goods under penalty of law "cheerfully" but let's not call it "giving". I'm sure God is pleased when you pay your taxes cheerfully too, but you will receive no eternal reward for the taxes you pay.

He also did not tell them it was necessary to stop tithing if they followed Him, either.
This is a deeply flawed argument. There are many things in the Law that Jesus did not directly address. Are all those issues binding upon the Christian? No. We are not under the Law... period.

i have never been under the "law." when God separated the peoples in Tower of Babel, Deuteronomy 32:8-9 tells us God chose Jacob [Israel] as His portion. This portion was given the "law." i was never that portion. i became heirs through Christ. which is why 2nd Cor is what i follow.

Jesus is in the midst of rebuking the Pharisees. Do you really think we should rip His words out of their context? Also, He was addressing those under the Law; He was not addressing Christians.

Good, but several of your posts uphold tithing, which is of the Law. Either you are under the Law, or you are not. There is no middle ground.

no, i am only showing that Jesus never told anyone to stop tithing. of course, we don't see Him tell anyone to tithe. but there are viewpoints on either side of what Jesus said. i am only pointing them out.

AND All unbelievers today are still under the law -----and that includes tithing -------

1 TIMOTHY 1:9

ASV
as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and unruly, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

And Believers in the New Testament are told to give an offering -------

1 Corinthians 16

New International Version

The Collection for the Lord’s People
16 Now about the collection for the Lord’s people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. 2 On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. 3 Then, when I arrive, I will give letters of introduction to the men you approve and send them with your gift to Jerusalem. 4 If it seems advisable for me to go also, they will accompany me.

And? Flesh that concept out using New Testament teaching.
