Invisible Children is a non-profit organization that tries to help children soldiers in Uganda get out of the war and rehabilitate them. I just watched the movie Grace and I was literally crying it was so sad. I just don't understand how a loving God allows innocent 13 year old girls to be raped multiple times by old men. When I the awful person I am am living with no real problems at all. Where is God's love?
nmsj:
this is a very important question and we have all asked this at one time or another.
God's Love can not be separated from His Sovereignty. of God's attributes, from man's perspective, God's Sovereignty is, i believe one of the most important for man to respect and accept.
while His Character is Holy, Righteous, Good, Loving and Patient, He is also Infinitely Wise and totally Sovereign. that means that He works
everything only according to His own Will....we can not understand His Ways or what His Own Counsel is. we are to respect and accept it.
in fact, to be extremely grateful for it, since He is Perfect, and one day we will all agree (whether lost or saved), that everything He did and does is RIGHT.
we do know that He is completely without Darkness, and is Pure Light and Holiness. we know that He works all things for His Glory. we must trust that He is in charge of everything, and everything is His to do with as He pleases.
regarding the children in Uganda.....did you know that Jesus said hatred is murder?
so, if we have actually hated someone in our lives, we ourselves have committed murder! this is why we should have compassion on all men, regardless of what they have done or are doing because we have committed the same sins ourselves. if we have ever hated someone, God says it is the same as if we have murdered them!
you ask where is God's Love while you, a sinner, sit with no real problems at all: that would be a good place to consider giving thanks - He determined where and when you would be born and live. there is an example of His Love....for you.
since you have no real problems, and since this has moved your spirit: why not consider ministering in some way, no matter how small, that can make a difference? you don't have to go to Uganda to do that...there are children in your very own town that are suffering today i bet. maybe an elderly neighbour who is so lonely they are suffering silently without you even knowing.
Matthew 25:40
And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
