Is a daily horoscope that bad? Can U see anything out of a good fortune?

Hmmm, ok, I see, yes, yes, astronomy, astrology, different, indeed, one's the study of symbolic meaning and one's the study of the stars constelling, so to speak.

But, to philly, and , the rest, can you EVER or NEVER wrought meaningful sequence, er-umm, hmmm, can you ever find yourself finding how to find, hmm, christian meaning, or, maybe, better way to put it is God-meaning from these type considered taboo things: reading a horoscope from the paper, or web, or reading a fortune cookie's sage advice or, looking up at those stars in the sky?

How so?

I did mention the biblical proof of a star that God used to navigate the wisemen to baby Jesus in the manger.

But what about the horoscope or cookie, can you believe in that means to hear from God?

And, nice of some like Philly to help clarify but here it is not being talked/threaded that stars or horoscopes should be worshipped. We all know they should not. God is a jealous God, put NOTHING idolic before Him, our Saviour who promised us Salvation by dying on a cross. But can you get something good and not evil, showing your future to have hope and not no hope? (Little Jer. 29:11 thrown in )

That is the question, and, not so coincidentally, that is also my poll question.

Without reading to much into the entire thread, I will say that I too have asked myself a similar question.
I do read fortune cookies, but always just to see what interesting One-Liners they have on them and 'cuz the cookies taste good. I specifically DO NOT read horroscopes because its so blatantly based off of astrology and trying in earnest to figure out ones future through means other than God. Could the Lord use Horroscopes to speak to someone? Sure, he used a donkey, He used the Babylonian army, He even used Judas Iscariot. He uses different means for different people, and I'm not one to go judging quickly. Yet, I think even if God were to use horroscopes to speak to certain individuals, that doesn't mean he would for you, thus don't go reading them to look for God's words.

It is definetly always better to look and listen for God's word in righteousness, rather than to stumble upon it in sin. Which is what astrology is.

i mean i always read the newspaper at dinner so by then my day is basically over and when i reaf the comics page ill skim my horoscope and then laugh because i didnt receive any financial windfalls or exciting adventures from friends. ive never had one accurately describe the day i just went through.

Then, after doing that, I really encourage you to pray wholeheartedly that God guides you and ask Satan to FLEE, and then read this LONG next part. SO, mega, (and others ) thinking I am saying that reading your horoscope on web or paper is a good thing, the answer is .'no.' No, no, no!!!!!
When I say things about horoscopes, fortune cookies, I say them with great consternation and powerful yet prayerful restraint. I want the very best from God for your life and.....maybe God can't seem to be getting YOUR attention any other way so He goes right into Satan's stuff-horoscopes, fortune cookies, and, dare I say, and, I pray I never have to be so dense for God to speak to me through a oouiji board. But He could, God could speak in any of these ways. Nothing is impossible with God and don't worry, God's power in you and through His Holy Spirit power (and I know some denominations don't believe in HS power, so I respect that fact) will KEEP you safe through speaking to you through a fortune cookie, or, YES, a horoscope. God won over death long ago, rising from Hell, to conquer sin and save you , forever to be with Him after you die on planet Earth. Amen, God! Praise your most holy , wonderful, Name. Your Name is a strong and mighty tower. Your Name carries strength like no other. And, nothing has the power to save but Your Name.

And, God will keep you saved if He takes you to the depths of Satan's world(horoscopes, etc.), but, and, it's an enormous, so , so, sooo important 'BUT,' you must be certain it is God leading you to read a daily horoscope, NOT Satan. Be prayerful to God BEFORE walking down a reading of a horoscope path if ever He takes you this way to show you something He could NOT get you to see.....any other way.

So, do you all really want to KNOW how many times I have read my Virgo horoscope? I'm not sure honestly, but I know its's not been many and i am prayerfully friendly asking for God and His Holy Spirit's guidance every step of that way.

nd, I am merely letting Christians, that is, God-following people, who believe Jesus walked on this Earth, who believe their is intelligent design, from an 'eye,' to a 'flower,' to man and women themselves, who believe the dead sea scrolls found in a cave in the mid-20th century contained the SAME translation though having come from different parts of the world all thru time . Amazing? Sure, try supernatural too.

But the apologetics of belief in God are not the true way to know God....

I love this song because it speaks clearly to me how I know if push came to shove, if a gun was put to my head, like Cassie Bernal of Columbine, COLORADO horrors 20 years ago, I would answer 'yes,' (The Lord leads) to Jesus as my personal Saviour.

Yes, the preponderance of coincidences that just happen, protecting me , gracing me, shadowing my existence are PROOF that God is real and I will follow Him anywhere and everywhere, by ANY means, ouijji board, or otherwise, that He pleases. I hope and pray you will too.

God has done great things in ALL our lives since we faithfully , commiteddly , born-againedly . turned our lives over to Him.

Nothing is impossible with God, that verse , along with All things are possible with God , are two verses together mentioned many times by Jesus in scripture. Maybe, truth be told , it is the most powerful forms of verse in scripture, but that's another topic.

God bless your possibilities , to follow Him through whatever means-ANY MEANS- to bless, nourish, bring joy to your soul , brain, and, inner being while , of course , bringing glory to He who made you-God!

----Jesusculture, you buttress my point well, as I am absolutely , positively NOT saying we should consult our daily horoscope for advice from God all the time, in fact, we should not consult 'that,' at any time UNLESS He leads us to it. The Lord leads. I have NEVER ever in my life, and, this is me speaking here, certainly I am not judging 'you,' as in christian chat members, but, yeah, I never have and never will consult a fortune cookie or horoscope ....without God's approval.

Good question. Here's an exam, you are eating out with friends and they open a paper at restaurant and , voila, its on a horoscope page. So, there, its involuntary and maybe, and only IF I pray heavily first, do I even put my eyes on that stuff. It's manure to me, like anything else out there trying to give advice WITHOUT God. But God can speak to us ANYWAY, even going into Satan's realm IF He can't get our ATTENTION any other way.

I want to ne clear here, I am totally one million percent against anything that is not God leading my life. I will leave it at that, except I hope and pray that you can find other things to do daily than read your horoscope. Again, sorry, if I sound judging, but that stuff is dangerous, dangerous, deadly to your life UNLESS you specifically see God's hand leading.

THIS is a very serious, yet, very delicate subject, rainacorn.

I have never ever never woke up in the morning, me speaking personally, to find out what my daily horoscope says. And, you shouldn't either seek that form of prophecy as a general rule, as like Jesusculture says, the bible is where God can speak to us best, or in prayer. Or, through a christian friend, or, in your case, your husband.

The Lord leads. It is a personal relationship with Him for all of us. Keep in mind , God speaks to us all through different means all through our lives. God bless your understanding of following Him as He personally leads you (His will for your kife, which is individual ultimately on the Judgment Seat but for married folk they are said to be as 'one' pretty sure Paul says in Corinthians) and sorry if I am unclear still but everything in your life is good, ultimately, if you steadfastly, through it all, that is, 'all' the things, suffering, etc. that goes on in your life. cling to Him. Look no further than Job.
