I think the double standard has to do with the old tradition that the man is supposed to be the one who provides for the woman. And he's supposed to rule over her (Genesis 3:16: "To the woman He said.. And he shall rule over you").

mrs Pharoah in the Bible was a cougar.

I was thinking about Rod Stewart and Rachel Hunter. Rod Stewart was (still is?) a rock star who always had groupies as rock stars do.

When Rachel and Rod married, she was 21 and he was 24 years older, and older than her own father.

He already had been married and divorced to another leggy blonde. with children. Rachel left him and also had two children, then he married yet another young leggy blonde. Its like he couldnt tell the difference.

Maybe its just that some men dont ever grow up.

I know some dads who leave their wives. and end up dating women younger than their own daughters. I remember I had a friend at school that was going through this. Her dad was dating someone younger than her oldest sister. I think the mum changed the locks on their house so he couldnt enter.

I deifnitnly know many women get restraining orders for their exes in order to protect themselves and their children. Another married, had a daughter, had an affair and had another duaghter. The wife divorced her husband but the love childs mother for some reason couldnt look after the duaghter, so he had to on his own but the first wife ended up having to look after her when he got violent.
