I remember a true story of a girl that was on one of those rides, not sure if it was a carnival ride but may have been. Her long hair was left flowing and it got caught in the ride somehow, maybe in the mechanics of it. So she was scalped, her hair and skin ripped off. Poor girl. I cant remember if it was a local or international story but from then on I always told people to tie their hair back when going to the local attraction.I knew of a woman with long blond curly hair who was an associate Professor at a small college working in the art department. Her specialty was ceramics. It was later at night after her last class ended she was making up clay for the morning classes. She was pouring dry mix into a machine that works something like a concrete mixer. It had large paddles that would spin mixing up the dry mix and water.
As she poured the dry mix in, her hair somehow got caught up in one of the paddles and pulled her head first into the mixer. After some evidence of struggle, she eventually lost consciousness and died from the head trauma. Her body wasn't discovered till the following morning with the machine still running. Ka chunk, ka chunk, ka chunk....
just kiddin! Just some story I heard. But no, go ahead and grow long hair. It looks good!
