How do I know 100% if a user is still here or not?

It looks like when someone is banned that it says "BANNED" under their name
and if they close their account it says "guest".

Well I'm looking for someone whose name isn't showing in the name search, but then I found them b/c their post came up in a search, their name didn't come up in a name search, but a name search brought up a list of their posts, but their name doesn't say "banned" or "guest", it still looks active. But when I click on their profile it says that it is not available.

So it doesn't look like they were banned (and I would be really surprised if they were)
And it doesn't say "guest", so I don't think they closed their account
but their profile isn't available (and it says "profile not available" not the "user limits who may view"- in case anyone was wondering)

I'm confused- is the person here or not?

Without knowing who the user is, I can't answer definitively.

If the user's account is deleted they will always have the user title "Guest" (that title is added automatically by the site software when the account is deleted).

If the user is banned, they may (or may not) have the user title "Banned" since Admin has to manually change the user title.
