Matthew 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

Sounds as though this verse is referring to a time of relative calm and ease.

1 Thessalonians5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Again sounds as though relative ease is indicated by verse 3. Does verse 2 indicate some type of darkness or is it slumber or sleep and loss of being alert?

I think that it's closer than when I first believed...

2 Peter3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

According to verse 9 He waited quite a few decades for me. Seems to me verses 10-12 indicate heat and fire. If we were to think of this as analogous to the boiling frog idea I leave it as to be determined.

Ezekiel 20:17 Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness. 18 But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols: 19 I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; 20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God. 21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness. 22 Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth. 23 I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries; 24 Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols. 25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live; 26 And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.
27 ¶ Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me. 28 For when I had brought them into the land, for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering: there also they made their sweet savour, and poured out there their drink offerings. 29 Then I said unto them, What is the high place whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day. 30 Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations? 31 For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you. 32 And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.
33 ¶ As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.

1) It seems that verses 33-34 indicate the time when the peoples originally selected to be 'God's Chosen' are brought back to 'present day Israel'.
2) If verses 33-34 do indeed refer to 'present day Israel' , is it possible the verses preceding also refer to this time?
3) If #2, then is 'polluted in their own gifts' possibly referring to modern technology?
Brown-Driver-Briggs@ Bible Hub; gives for polluted...2 religiously, with idols
I suggest that many people place our 'gift' of science and innovation in an idolatrous position. For your consideration.

That’s not the end times as you have been taught to believe. The end times Paul is talking about is the same as the end of the age of the law. Jesus spoke about that in Mat 24 as He spoke to the Jews.

An example passage that points to the here and now being the end times is Heb 9:26 which places Christ's sacrifice at the end of the world. The world clearly still stands therefore it has been the end of the world for nearly 2000 years now.

The SEQUENCE issues in the Olivet Discourse (especially via Luke 21:12-24a) basically says that the events surrounding 70ad must take place sequentially "BEFORE ALL" of the beginning of birth pangs (which were just described in vv.8-11, and which are parallel that of Matt24:4-8, Mk13:5-8).

Additionally, Lk21:32 states, "... shall not pass away TILL ALL be fulfilled [/shall have taken place];"
and that word "all" must necessarily include that which v.24 had already just spoken of (which includes the "UNTIL" matter within its own statement, as well), v.24 saying, "...and they shall be led away captive into all the nations, and Jerusalem shall be TRODDEN DOWN [see also Rev11:2] of the Gentiles UNTIL the TIMES of the Gentiles be fulfilled"; the phrase "the TIMES of the Gentiles" referring to Gentile domination over Israel (think: Neb's "dream / statue / image" with Neb as "head of gold," and which does not conclude until Christ's Second Coming to the earth, yet future); The phrase "the TIMES of the Gentiles" being distinct from the phrase "the FULNESS of the Gentiles be come in [G1525]" (not referring to the same things).

So, in Luke 21:32,24,12(8-11), one must consider the SEQUENCE issues that are being raised, in that section of the Olivet Discourse, when comparing it to the other Olivet Discourse passages (Matt & Mk).

If we look in Matthew, all is made simple but it must be beleived n faith.

Jesus Yeshua teaches the He did not come to destroy the law, no, rather He came to complete it. He went on to say any one tseaching against the least of the laws will be least in heaven. It is in the Book.

I appreciate you trying to share something there but you are going to have to dumb that way down to get to my level.

The sign of the end is all around us today.
I will say that the most misunderstood part of it is how Israel is the ctr focus of it.
In 1948 Israel became a state in one day just as the Lord prophesied. Now the scattering becomes the gathering just as the Lord prophesied for his people Israel. This I will use as the beginning of the end.
Since then there have been wars and rumor of wars throughout all the nations for one reason or another.
Increasing with its threats and frequency.
What they call climate change has increased since then also causing a global panic and a fruitless effort to resolve.
Gods word is challenged and disregarded as the worlds society embrace another form of government to be ruled by.
This also has increased in its efforts for a new world order.
The gospel of Jesus Christ has been poisoned by many false doctrines and theologies discrediting Israel as the chosen and labeling born again believers as radicals.
The gospel of love is now referred to as hate speach. Mens hearts now are growing cold to the truth. To their neighbors to their own. Churches are becoming entertainment centers instead of places of worship and hope. Marketing Christianity rather than embracing its savior.
The world embraces the lie of the false news and media which causes more discourse between races, cultures, religions, as its agenda is that to push for the new world order.
God has chosen at this time to send warning signs such as pandemics which are world wide. Disasters like never before seen to capture the attention of his dismay in the attempts of man which are explained away by the false narrative.
Lawlessness has become the focal point of attention and is justified by many.
Homosexuality has become a normal way of life in society. Now the push is to legalize pornography in public schools as a free expression of ones love for another.
How close are we? Again read yor bible and keep your eyes on israel and the sky.

David Pawson makes some good points but I don't have the patience to listen to him very long. Has anyone watched the video? What is his basic premise?
