Here is who will receive eternal salvation —

And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. Hebrews 5:9

If you deny this scripture to be the truth, then please show me the scripture that says those who are disobedient to Him receive eternal salvation.
JPT
Those who obey Him first know Him bro.

Salvation then service.

OT covenant: obey to live
NT covenant: live to obey

"Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." 2 Corinthians 7:1
What does this text say? Does that requirement come before salvation? Or is a result of it?

You have it all backwards bro.

It is really very simple

Jesus is Lord.

If you say He is Lord then that means you obey what He tells you to do.

I have to hand to the OSAS crowd; your ingenuity at twisting scripture never ends. Fortunately, I know what the text says and what it means, so I'm not shaken by your ignorance. Keep questioning; maybe one day you'll figure it out.

So, the verses that say that We can “Know” we are saved, are so confusing that we may think we know, but really don’t? Anyone with a simple mind understands the words of Jesus and the simplicity of the Gospel. We are changed after we are saved, and if there is no changed heart, after whatever ritual one ascribes to, then it didn’t take.
Colossians 2:1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; 2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

Makes perfect sense. You don't get the full assurance by saying some nano second prayer 20 years ago. You need to have all the riches. Every time a prayer is answered, every time the Lord shines on the word, every time you see a prophesy fulfilled, these are riches and they add together to give you the full assurance. According to OSAS there is no need for a struggle or to get all the riches, the full assurance is automatic.

1Thessalonians 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

Look at the men who preach OSAS and you don't have any assurance they are saved.

Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. 11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

You want the full assurance of hope? Well let's see your labor of love that you have showed to His name, where is your ministry to the saints? Are you diligent in your pursuit of the Lord or slothful? Are you following those who through faith and patience will inherit the promises or are you following flim flam men telling you not to worry and go back to your football game?

His standard is still perfection.

For all have sinned and fall short....

You can obey all you want. you will still fall short. thats why we demand grace.. We can not obey ourselves to salvation

Blood bought and sealed with the Spirit bro. Born again to newness of life.

Who will wrest God's children from him hand?

In Revelation, Satan is bound in the pit by one (mere) angel with a seal that he cannot break.

So who is going to break our seal?

Salvation is conditional on our faith. If faith is a choice then if we lose faith then salvation can be lost. If faith isn’t a choice then there’s nothing you can do to give yourself faith and it wouldn’t matter if you had even heard of Jesus.

The problem with that is it requires God to handpick who isn’t saved and that runs contrary to the Bible. God’s ultimate preference is that none should perish, but all come to repentance.

OSAS leads people to chose Universalism or Calvinism.

OSAS is valid only under the condition of faith, but it’s a misnomer. It’s more like Once Saved Always Saved if you don’t lose faith.

people only lose faith when the one our faith is in is not faithful

God is not human, His promise is not unfaithful. so there is no reason to lose faith in eternal life.

Saying one can lose faith is to discredit God and say he is not faithful to keep his promise.

Thats why NOSAS is so damning to God and his character. because it claims God may not be trusted

The argument seems to be about the possibility of getting back up. And to me, persevering in faith, is not about failing as much as it is about continually recovering. The sick requires the care of a physician.

The Bible teaches salvation on the condition of faith. What happens if one lost faith? Do you think they still have access to God’s grace?

Romans 5:1,2
1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God

So now it's God's fault when people give up on him? You cannot be serious.

1 John 2.
18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the[d] Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you[e] know all things. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

what part of they were never of us is so hard to understand?

I agree. I don’t think those mentioned in verse 19 were Christians or had faith to begin with. Or if they were they lost faith. Not enough info there, but John and that particular congregation most likely had some unspoken understanding of the context.

But don’t stop there, look at the next couple of verses because it concludes with a condition. This plainly states, with an if statement, that eternal life is conditional on faith. It also says let.

1 John 2:24,25 NKJV
24Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.

Question: of those who you know that "gave up" on the faith permanently, how many do YOU think were genuinely saved?

David cried out to his God continually. Even though he messed up, felt abandoned, and did a lot of regrettable things.....he never gave up on his God.

And neither did Peter.

Luke 22:32-34
But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

I think those who DID "return to the faith" never left it in the first place. It may take some time......but Jesus is going to come and pick you up and put you back in the fold. Sooner or later.

it proves my point

If what you HEARD abides

Many people hear and believe for awhile. may even say a sinners prayer. but they never had faith. thats why they eventually leave, because although they are blessed by association. they never truly feel the power of God because they were never born again.

It doesn’t prove your point. Actually it debunks your point which is why I showed it to you. If the condition isn’t met then that person doesn’t abide in the Son or Father and, therefore, doesn’t have eternal life.
